Be sure to report any and all damage or missing items, furniture, door knobs, or latches immediately upon arrival. If not, they will bill you an extra 50 euro per item. Upon arrival, our inner door's knob was broken. It would not lacth or lock. We didn't think much about it as the outer door locked, and we were able to secure the room. On the day of checkout, the knob fell off, and we set it on the table. Despite it being broke prior to our arrival, we were responsible for paying since we did not report it immediately.

Service and staff were good up until the checkout.

Be aware! It is an older building with many little flaws and damages.

I apologize for the harsh review, but I do not believe that you are right in billing me for damages that we did not cause. As you said these doors are newly installed. Maybe you should have a conversation with the contractor regarding the quality of installation. Also have a discussion with house keeping. The handle was obviously broken as the door would not even latch shut. It is possible that they failed to report as well. Or they may have missed because the door was not closed or locked. Either way it is wrong to charge us for the damages.

My aim is to make others aware of this issue, so they can avoid unwarranted charges.

Stayed for 5 nights and there were some really good bits, the rooms are dated but I knew that when I booked and they are kept really clean with beds changed every day. Also the free shuttle to from the ferry way very welcome and the people in the hotel super friendly and helpful. The pool was covered and closed which was a shame and the breakfast is really really basic. The WiFi was also pretty useless, it didn’t work any of the time we were there, even if I sat in reception. I thought there may be a beach close by but it’s not really a beach, just access to the sea. Closest beach is a good hour away by bus and walk, but that was my fault, not the hotels. If I was to go back to Lipari, I think I’d stay somewhere else.
