Hotel Sporting Baia - Villa Athena in Giardini-Naxos

Claims they are 4 star but have NO Iron for guests. Beach is advertised as private beach for the hotel but beware it's NOT!. Swimming pool isn't run by the hotel and again, advertised as part of the hotel and it's NOT!. Extra fee required for pool and beach. Get your own toiletries as hotel provides 25ml shampoo/shower gel a day per person. It seems they are a super tight budget hotel. You are better off with an AirBnB since they provide literally NO SERVICE of their own. Breakfast: Enough choice but it's just basic for an acclaimed 3 or 4 star hotel. Goodluck sleeping on the rock solid beds. There are 2 venues just by it too who play super loud music 3 times a week usually till 3am. Either you join them, or no sleep. You are better off with an AIRBNB accommodation than this hotel which provides very minimal service. Most of their receptionist are rude and dont like to be asked questions. TRY ELSWHERE!

Room was clean with a great shower but bed was hard as a rock, this was 10 night of not much rest. Sleep was also affected by the beach parties that were going on till the morning. Hotel staff not very helpful. We wanted to use the pool but staff just pointed to a phone number to call to ask for info (italian number so extra cost would be on us) so we did not use it in the end. When asked about iron facility the receptionist just answer "we don't have any" and turned around and got on with other jobs (they claim they are a 4 star hotel so I found it odd). Wi-fi not good, was better to use my mobile data. Breakfast ok but not a 4 star hotel breakfast as they claim to be. €23 for 2 beds and an umbrela on the beach and staff did not advise us that we can only sit on the first 5 rows, you need to pay extra at the Lido for the first rows but no one told us until we got at the beach. All in all I would not recomend!

I stayed here for two nights at the end of an organised group tour. Room comfortable and clean but no remote control for air conditioning in room which was set too high for my comfort. I had to go down to reception and say what temperature I'd like and they controlled it remotely, Once turned on I again had no control over it and could not adjust it or turn if off ! Bizarre. Reception staff were helpful and friendly, and waiting staff were attentive. it seems to have a 1970s feel and needs a good repaint on the outside giving it a sad and faded aspect with its peeling blue paint. Breakfast was adequate but didn't care much for the evening meal on offer so ate out the next evening. My major complaint (which is no fault of the Hotel Sporting Baia itself ) is the noise from the night discos on the beach opposite and down the road and was kept awake to beyond 2am both nights . I was in room 103 on the sea front so would advise a room at the rear to get any sleep if you do have a booking which is why I didn't give a higher rating . I personally wouldn't stay there again by choice and was quite pleased to leave and catch up on much needed sleep.

A poor choice. Dilapidated rooms begging for an upgrade. Hotel surrounded on all sides by traffic noise. Dreadful breakfast. Please do not support hotels whose managment are running them into the ground like this. It's a disgrace. Look elsewhere.

The hotel is in a good location, but everything else is a disaster. The rooms are not clean,they do not change the blue blanket on the bed,the towels are not well washed. Very uncultured workers. From the reception to the cleaners who knock on the door and ask when we are leaving the room. Check-out from the hotel is at 10 a.m and not at 8:30 when the lady was at the door. Mostly everything is a disaster. Never again
