family run business, it's a two stars hotel but comfortable enough and clean... We didn't eat here at diner, but the breakfast was very good, with a variety of pastries and also cheese and ham... not a true international breakfast but ok anyway. We haven't eat at the restaurant, but they let us to give them some pre-cooked pizzas and heat them on their oven. Rooms are incredible small but we stay one night at a very reasonable price.

Swimming pool located on a hill with a grove, at the top, equipped with sun loungers. 2 swimming pools one x children's bar with sandwiches and cold first courses you cannot bring food from outside.

At only 500 meters altitude near Pistoia lies the village (hamlet) Castagno. The way up is already an adventure, with beautiful chestnut trees and hairpin bends. If you pay attention you might see a deer or a fox.. (we do..) Once at the top we were welcomed by the sweet Giulia and her mother. The apartment was Italian with the basic necessities. don't expect huge luxury but just a clean apartment...

Not only a swimming pool, but also a beautiful terraced lawn where you can relax in the shade of the chestnut trees. The train station is very convenient, on the Porretta Pistoia line, one of the most evocative in Italy.

The large room was excelent, we find the hotel very easely, the staff was extraordinary friendly and helpfull. We had a separate entrance to the room, very usefull, because we had a little dog with us.

The owners are very kind, excellent breakfast and clean and spacious rooms. Ideal with children. The hotel has no restaurant but there are good ones right next door. The pool is very nice with slides and rafts. Villa Puccini with its park is also very close.

Fabulous service. Beautiful terrace.

Fantastisk to sit and watch the sunset on the terrace. The staff are super friendly, and you get a family feeling. When we ordered a drink, they came with a nice platter of cheese, salami and some other pastery.

Excellent ski room, very close to the lift (200m). Good breakfast, top parking and genuine employee. Don't think there's anything better than this around. Our room was like new and the bathroom had a big and comfy shower.

Good hotel in a great location. The shower stall cleaning can be improved a little. For the rest we had a really good time. The great price and the kindness of the staff as well. The La Polveriera restaurant is noteworthy. We return.

Historic hotel: You get what you pay (low price, low standard) though acceptable value: outdoor pool, breakfast and parking included. In hot days also AC (central only from 13-4am). Facade looks horrible and the furniture gets you back to 1980 or so. They really need an investor but the whole Montecantini area seems to have over capacity as even it's high season August, all rates all over are low...

We arrived the evening after 1.00 the innkeeper was a little annoyed because he had to wait until that time. In the room there was no sound pipe so no shower and no innkeeper to inform him why he had gone to sleep. I slept really well here due to a comfortable bed, excellent windows (little noise from outside despite the central location) and quiet, effective air-conditioning. The only slight disappointment has been the breakfast, I find it annoying to come to a five star hotel with breakfast included and to have to pay extra at breakfast most cooked options... only include scrambled eggs and have to pay for fried eggs or omelet, only include hard boiled eggs and have to pay for soft boiled eggs...

A spa hotel that looks impressive on the outside, and provides a warm welcome, after cycling from Lucca the welcome drink was very welcome! The spa is just as extensive with indoor and outdoor pools steam room and sauna to name just a few of the facilities. This is the type of place that you could arrive at and not leave until it was time to go home. The rooms are stunning and very relaxing.

We recently stayed at the hotel and couldn’t have been happier. Check-in was seamless, our spotless, spacious room with a lovely view felt like home, and the staff—from concierge to housekeeping—were friendly and attentive.
