It is a very pretty hotel. Very rustic but modern at the same time. the hotel is at the top of a hill via a steep gravel path which is easy to miss from the main road. The room was a good size with two opening windows one each side of the room which is great for air flow. However because the hotel is surrounded by trees there are mosquitoes in the room therefore resorted to the air conditioning. Communication...

Courteous staff, excellent ambiance and delicious food. I am a vegetarian and they were kind enough to cook a risotto which was not in their menu.

Original villa from.the 16th century, which has been modernised since. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are guest at the Medici's. Great restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Very attentive service

The view from the hotel is stunning that's it... This hotel as all the potential to be a jewel in San Miniato but boy there is some work to do. The rooms and amenities are really outdated, breakfast was below standard and unfortunately my experience with the reception was less than satisfactory. So if you want a view go there otherwise you'll find plenty of nicer options around.

We had a lovely large room, with a great view across the local area. Perfect for a quick stop over before driving to Pisa Airport. Would stay longer next time, lots to explore. They are conducting some renovation work, but it's not overly disruptive. The car parking is convenient to the hotel once you fund the right access road. SatNav couldn't!

Amazing views from each room. Quiet. At the highest point of the city. Rooms are large. Across from the Duomo. A/C is a bit weak. Mattress is not the pillow top model. Staff are super friendly and English fluent

I have known this structure for many years, when I am in those parts according to the times I go there for lunch or dinner, this evening we dined outdoors, a real pleasure, but above all for me you eat well, a typical Tuscan home cooking. Aldo, Roberta and Francesca are very kind I recommend it if you try it you can not help but come back.

Used for a business stay by my small group it proved to be a perfect choice. Large and private parking, rooms of good size considering the structure of the building. Staff and property super helpful and courteous for the days spent we felt at home. The restaurant part is also excellent, all dishes are good both for lunch and dinner, with particular praise for meat. The only note in the room occupied...

Ok place

Everything was good, the pizza was well cooked and good tasting. The staff is really gentle, kind, nice. The location is gorgeous, with visible beams on the ceiling,full country style, in a quite place.

Wouldn't recommend for the price. We stayed in rooms for families. The bathroom was a pain. No proper mechanism to stop water spilling out of the shower. It kept flooding the floor. Breakfast was very average. Nothing great otherwise. Staff were friendly.

Looks like recently renovated hotel from an old building, Very attractive artistic lobby, clean rooms and good service hotel, breakfast is recommended. Location is 10-15 min walk to old city center, environment will improve in years currently a bit near the edge of immigrants place but mostly families and safe.

It was booked for me as part of a walking trip through Tuscany. The photos look beautiful and the hotel itself matches. There's an elegant reception and wonderful breakfast room combined with a tower from which you can see for miles. My room is a little small but it was a single bed only which was fine. The bathrooms are clean and the Wi-Fi works well. There was a little delay in reaching reception...

Owners helpful and kind, but not expressly indicated that bathroom and kitchen are common parts (at least on booking) in my opinion this is a serious mistake. The price is in line considering the common parts. Location for those seeking tranquility (I like it). Other than the tub cleanliness good.

Beautiful house nice big room, lovely host

Located in the hills near San Minato, the two-room old house is a very quiet and restful place, with a lovely outside area offering superb views and an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen. Good restaurants nearby and the coast is within a reasonable drive. Excellent aircon in a spacious room with high ceilings. Wifi can be weak at times.

I stayed for twelve nights and found myself at ease. The hosts were very welcoming and made me feel like I was at home. I recommend it for those looking for a family, welcoming, and peaceful dimension.

I stayed overnight with friends for the 4th stage of the path of the GODS. Fabrizio and Paola welcomed us warmly. I was in this B&B La Castellana on 04/27/2018, family welcome, the perfect cleanliness, location and kindness of Mrs. Elisabetta who is the owner immediately puts you in your favor. The wonderful breakfast with quality products thanks to the cakes prepared at home by the owner complete with every comfort, with a fully equipped kitchen available to customers. Advised! The owners are kind and helpful, arriving from a 30 km walk the owner picked us up by car to save us the stretch that leads from the center to the B&B. A small apartment with everything in one space. Bedroom, living room, kitchen. There is a washing machine that is excellent. The bathroom shower needs upgrading and there is a large yard to rest in. All in all, the place is nice and kind and the landlady is wonderful. The place is quiet with a few restaurants around, but remember that its location is not in the interesting Old Town.

It is located in a very nice and quiet town, the treatment is excellent and the room in which we spent the night was previously part of a house. This way, it had everything (stove, fridge, and even coffee) and it's cool. The shower is like the ones from not so long ago (it's not a shower tray but the water goes to the floor), so it reminds us of grandma's houses. Without a doubt, a good experience

It was great. Giuliana and her family were perfect hosts. Our kid loved the animals at the place and Giuliana was so kind to show us all of them. In front of the apartment we could use the seats and table were we enjoyed the wonderful view while having something to eat or drink. The Kitchen is well equipped and we could also use the barbecue!

We stayed in August at the "Poggio delle capre" a real paradise where tranquility reigns accompanied by the kindness of the hosts. Our two children had a blast among the pools available and all the fantastic animals present. We will definitely be back very soon !!!! 😍🥰

One of the first weekends after the lockdown, and it was a welcome surprise. An unpaved country road leads to a rural location. Here we received a warm welcome from Giuliana and her partner, two educated and pleasant people. We stayed two days, surrounded by horses, goats, ducks, dogs and other animals, which the owners raise, producing excellent goat cheeses. An advisable stay for couples and families...

The holiday at the Poggio delle Capre was one of the most beautiful holidays we had with our children. The owners Giuliana and Giorgio are two wonderful people who made us feel at home and taught us a lot about animals and goat milk processing. The location immersed in the Tuscan countryside is simply splendid, offering absolute relaxation and fun for children.

Such a lovely sweet couple! Homebaked goods for breakfast (you'll definitely be full!) with beautiful views from the kitchen/terrace. Basic accommodations but has everything you would need (as with most places like this in Europe, make sure to bring your own shampoo!).

Meat quality here is great! And overall the food feels very "homemade", they're very honest with the prices of the wines and have a good selection. Pretty much everything I've ever had here was quite good, nevertheless it's not an economic place.. If you want to eat a good steak with some appetizers and a bottle of wine and dessert... Expect to spend at least 40 euro p/p Everytime has been a good...

The waiters helped us fixing the menu for a pregnant woman's needs and were very kind at that. During summer the patio outside has a stunning view! We advice to not start dinner late because with sunset there start to be some mosquitoes and moths.

If you are looking for peace and tranquility in the countryside near San Miniato, the queen b & b is for you. Clean rooms, possibility to leave the car safely and especially in the morning the coffee made with mocha .....

I stayed one night with my boyfriend and we had a great time. The B&B is located in a quiet spot in San Miniato, more in the countryside, let's say. The room was quite spacious, the bed comfortable, with a television and air conditioning. Nice bathroom too. We found everything neat and clean. Very good breakfast. The lady was very kind and helpful, among other things we had communicated as breakfast...

The house is beautiful and the owners are very friendly. If you are traveling by car the site is ideal. But if as you travel on foot is not the best option because it is almost 2km from the town and to get there you have to climb a very hard slope. The owners were very kind and offered to bring us closer to the town. Breakfast in the morning is plentiful and varied.

I was only there one night but I have to say I liked it. The property is located in nature just below San Miniato. Nice Place

The landlady, Donna Theresa, speaks a little German, which made communication much easier. The price is rare to find even at B&B. The room and bathroom, although old but clean and functional. The ideal base for visiting Florence, Pisa and Lucca.
