This is the first castle hotel in Sanremo. It is located in an old mansion of the XIX century, with a lovely garden a few steps from the sea. Suitable for business trip or for a beach holiday.
Built: 1861
Location: 500 m from the centre of San Remo and the famous casino, 55 km from nice airport and 130 km from Genoa airport.
Consists of a 6-storey building.
The hotel has 124 rooms.
Beach: public, sandy 150 m from the hotel (1 coastline). Umbrellas and sunbeds for a fee.
On the hotel territory: restaurant, American bar, Breakfast room, Park, terrace, outdoor saltwater pool (from 01.06 to 30.09), free wireless Internet, lobby, lift, TV room, meeting room

We booked this hotel via trip.com in August for three of us include our son who is 5 years old.
The location is great and we loved the swimming pool and the classic service at the pool bar.
However, the reception lady asked us an extra charge 100 euros for 2 nights , she said because the room is for 2 person, so this supplement is for your son.
( we did not get an extra bed in our room was only a king sized bed for 3 of us. )
Later I rechecked my booking then find out she should not charge me again because the reservation is for 3 people
( I still have the reservation email and the receipt) . I hope the hotel can give us an explanation, and a refund of extra charge as well.

this hotel is lucky to have such a great location.. the thing that surprised me the most was when the lady at the reception wanted to charge me 20 euros for the sunbeds that we had already paid for.. then she said that we should pay for cleaning the room... I've never seen that anywhere before that for approximately "150" euros per night, the hotel would honor the money for the night service! Wow, I'm in awe... In the evening we were asking about an iron, a 4-star hotel doesn't have an iron, he doesn't have anything, why does he have a 4-star hotel?

Need major renovations but the staff is very friendly and the location is optimal. Sanremo doesn’t have nice beaches but the city center is nice to visit.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in!
The service is not what you'd expect from a four-star hotel, and the room is dirty and too old. The price does not justify the value!

Fantastic location.
Hotel is faded glamour and is tired.
Room nice, view fabulous, air con brilliant, shower 🚿 no water pressure. Breakfast OK. Pool is really lovely. Staff nice.
They need to sort the sunbed issue. 10 euros per day is not a solution to not enough sunbeds.
Beach is 3 min walk and is very commercialised in San remo.
We'd stay again tho.

Great friendly personnel. Close to beach. But rooms smell bad, lots of noice every morning and you have to pay 10€ per sun chair at the pool even though you stay at the hotel…

What must have been a grand Hotel in times gone by, it is now very tired and in need of renovation. A short walk to the beach, it is well situated but not a place I would rush back to.
