We arrived here with no expectations, as the hotel was booked by a tour company as our last night before we climbed into the mountains on the alta via 1. The young receptionist was exceptionally kind and friendly, dealing well with a mix-up about the rooms. It’s a medium-sized, slightly old-fashioned but very clean hotel that seemed mainly to be frequented by Germans and Austrians. One of the cool features is a backpack in the room that you can use for daytrips. There is a sauna area with two saunas and a steam room, as well as a decent-sized pool that we were lucky enough to find empty. As for the food, it was good, if not exceptional. Cooked professionally, but not with a whole lot of love or imagination. Breakfast was good, with the fresh, nutty brown bread a real highlight in an area where so often white rolls are the default. Unfortunately, the man at the reception when we were leaving was not so friendly, leaving a slightly bad taste. All-in-all, a hotel that we found hard to fault, but also hard to love.

Excellent hotel. Good breakfast and dinner. Clean and tidy rooms and facilities. Excellent amenities, such as the pool, hot tub, sauna, and Turkish bath. A downside was the rude and unpleasant receptionist.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the city center and the train station, perfect for hiking. Convenient parking, good and varied food for all tastes, and both Mr. Walch and the staff were very kind and helpful. Our room, No. 48, was large and bright, with a large bathroom and a window. In addition to the standard towels, the hotel also provided beach towels and bathrobes for the pool and hot tub, as well as a backpack for various excursions. The cleanliness was impeccable. What more can I say? Everything was truly perfect.

Good location in the center of Alt-Toblach. Friendly service, especially from the owner Mr. Walch, who takes care of a lot of things himself. The "standard" double room is quite small (it looks bigger in the photo online), better to book a room with a mountain view. New and comfortably furnished. Breakfast & dinner in the restaurant good 4* standard, but nothing "special". Ice cream dishes are prepared to order. Beautiful wellness area with pool, Finnish sauna, "bio" sauna (like a very hot steam bath) and steam bath (closed due to Corona). Very pleasant: on the doors to the saunas it is clearly stated that you are only allowed in without swimwear. This is sometimes a problem in Italy.

Great half-board experience. The welcome at first seemed quite cold but once you discovered the room, the spa and the restaurant, everything was perfect. Bravo for the meals and the good stay despite not having booked a room.

I would recommend Hotel Cristallo to everyone; very kind owners, waiters and all the staff. Excellent food, even for someone like me who only eats soups, room cleaning always perfect. No negative comments, pleasant, clean, excellent food, friendly and helpful dining room staff and owners. A spa after a walk or bike ride is the icing on the cake.

We were there as a family and really enjoyed the time. The two managers of the house are very keen to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms are extremely stylish and the wellness area has everything you could wish for. We will come back
