Stayed here two nights to unwind visit lago di braies. It was perfect because we relaxed in the spa after travelling, visited the lake and hiked and then relaxed in the spa again. It was only a short drive to the lake and the spa was so big and luxurious. So many saunas! Lovely big hotel room, so clean and modern. Customer service, everyone so friendly and food was amazing. Brilliant for coeliacs - great gluten free accommodation.

We stayed at the Hotel Santer, booking two double rooms from the 26th February for four nights. On a positive note, the hotel is very well appointed, furnished to a very good standard for a four star hotel and the staff team are all very welcoming, helpful and polite. The breakfast offering was exceptionally good, and the spa facilities and pools are very enjoyable.

Firstly, I would like to point out that I very rarely leave a negative review and from memory have never left a one-star review before. However, due to the things we experienced during our stay from the owner and management of the hotel I feel I must record the following.

On arrival at the hotel we were welcomed by the receptionist, checked in and taken to our rooms. We had driven from Venice a tiring three-hour drive and just wanted to relax in our rooms and have a cup of tea. However, we found there were no tea or coffee making facilities available. One of our party rang down to reception to query this and a member of staff told her that our category of room did not include this. After expressing her surprise and disappointment that a four-star hotel charging 250 euros a night wouldn’t include this standard facility the receptionist arranged for a kettle to be brought to the room but with no cups of tea or coffee.

A little while later when we went down for dinner the member of our party who had the previous telephone conversation with the receptionist spoke to a gentleman behind reception asking if he was the manager to which replied that he was, we then asked him again about why there are no tea or coffee making facilities in our rooms, he responded quite briskly that our category of room does not include this. I said how surprising this was and that has a seasoned traveller I had never stayed in a four-star hotel or for that matter the vast majority of hotels I have stayed in which didn’t offer this and that it was very surprising, he responded that its normal at this hotel.

Due to the brisk and very unprofessional why in which the manager had spoken to us one of our party immediately decided to leave a negative Google review, this may have been a little premature in light of what followed. Later that evening while walking back through reception the man who had introduced himself as a manager approched the member of our party who had posted the review and very aggressively confronted her saying that she needed to get her facts right, firstly he is the owner of the hotel not a manager! He then went on to say that it is clearly shown on their website that our category of room does not include tea or coffee making facilities. I have double checked the website and I can find no mention whatsoever of this, but please feel free to check this for yourself, the rooms we stayed in were standard doubles.

The other incident which I found astonishing was an Italian supplier to our own business back in the UK had contacted the hotel to very kindly arrange to pay for an evening meal for our party. However we had dinner on the first evening of our stay and were not overly impressed and so decided to eat at other local restaurants during our holiday.

When the hotel reception contacted me about this very kind gesture, I explained that unfortunately we had made other reservations for our evening meals and suggested that they used the offer of paying for our meal be used for the dinner we had eaten on the first night, the receptionist responded by saying this wouldn’t be possible and the “Voucher” must be used for a future meal.

Subsequently I have been informed that the supplier would have had no objection to their gesture being used for any meal we had taken during our stay.

Finally, on checking out the hotel had tried to charge us twice for the evening meal we had on the first night of our stay.

Regrettably these factors have led me to leave this negative review. Interestingly when you look at the at the other negative reviews on Google and TripAdvisor there is a trend that the owner has very poor customer care and interaction skills.

The OWNER of this hotel is dead rude. I have requested kettle to my room so I could make tea or coffee in the morning. I am staying in this hotel for €250/night for 4 nights in two rooms and I hear in response that I am not in the right category of room to have that included!! When I spoke to the manager he just bluntly said that “ this is normal here” and he had the nerve to also tell me that the sparkling water in the fridge is not for free either. I have never met manager of the hotel this rude and he might be sure that I won’t return here or recommend it to anyone! I wonder how the staff of this hotel is treated if the owner treats his guest in obnoxiously arrogant way!
We also looked on the website and it doesn’t mention that hot drinks are not included in your stay(doesn’t matter what room) which is a standard practice in 99% of the hotels.

The hotel is wunderbar! Very clean room, completed with wellness centre, and excellent food in the restaurant. All the staffs are super nice and helpful, the front desk, cleaning staff, and even the owner of the hotel greeted us. But, I got an unpleasant experience with a tall woman who (maybe) a coordinator in the restaurant, she always stands in front of the restaurant entrance to great all the guest for dinner and I came with my German family, but I think I was the only one Asian at that time, and that tall woman never greeted me or shows her friendly face to me, nor even smiling as I didn't exist there. I think she must be thrown back to a training course for better excellent service as her job is to welcome the guest, no matter what skin tone or race are the guest. This is a very bad experience for me as I travel quite a lot to European country, stayed in various hotels and she is the only one hotel staff who annoyed me like that. Not professional! But I found her collague, I think an Italian guy who also welcome us is very nice and even came to the table and talked with the guest very warmly.

I hope this "racist" case will be notified by the hotel general manager and consider that tall lady to be trained better as a staff working in hospitality service.

This was such a unique and wonderful location to stay during our visit to the Dolomites. The spa is delightful and very comforting. One of the highlights of our time here was the fact that you get to keep the same dining table in the restaurant for the entirety of your stay. Was a really nice touch and one I’d never seen before. Additionally the menu changed daily. Allowing for a delicious variety of meals. The rooms were kept very tidy and made every day between 8am-2pm. One thing I will mention is that the Wi-Fi connection did not function well anywhere besides the room (I didn’t mind much as it seems to be a place to unplug). Though, if you have to work, take note! Truly can’t wait to come back here in winter for ski season!

Great experience, great hotel. They made my stay with my girlfriend extra special, and went out of the way to do so.

They just added a big wing, and have a really cozy and unique spa area that is over 3,000 sq meters / 9000 square feet and is included with your room. Theirs is an indoor pool, and two outdoors pools, multiple saunas, etc.

In close proximity to the Tre Crime park, and the Lago do Braies, as well as many other things.

We stayed in the “Stephanie” suite, which we really liked. Nice shower, huge tub seperate from shower in the bedroom, big balcony, separate living room, etc.

Great breakfast buffet which is also included with the room. Large selection and quality food.

Great hotel, short drive of popular hiking trails (tre cime, lake sorapis, braies lake), large and comfortable room with nive view, great spa, amazing breakfast and staff was super friendly and helpful, highly recommended

We spent 2 weeks in January at Romantik Hotel Santer. We feel a sense of gratitude to the hosts and the whole team for the wonderful atmosphere everywhere in Santer.
Beautiful, comfortable, thought out to the smallest detail room. Bravo to the chef, the whole team of the kitchen and the friendly waitresses. We really liked the farm products, the courses of the menu to choose from, the selection of wines. The excellent location of the hotel allows us to leave the building and immediately get on the cross country skis. A huge number of tracks diverge from the stadium near the hotel. After skiing, it is a pleasure to come to the spa area and relax. Great location!

Beautiful location and great service! I don't see much about it in the reviews but the restaurant is also quite good! Give it a try if you don't want to head into town.
