Hotello Hostel in Trieste

I recently stayed at the Hotello Hostel in Trieste, and it was a disappointing experience that fell below all expectations. The dormitory room was overcrowded, accommodating 12 beds with 12 people in a single room. The smell inside was unbearable, and to make matters worse, the windows couldn't be opened wide enough to allow fresh air in.

The bathroom was extremely small and insufficient for the number of guests. One of the advertised amenities, the rooftop bar, was closed during my stay, which was a significant letdown. Additionally, the hostel didn't provide basic necessities like pillows or blankets. The beds were uncomfortably short—less than 1.90 meters—so I couldn't even stretch out fully.

Overall, I would not recommend the Hotello Hostel to anyone looking for accommodations in Trieste.

It's super loud and seems more like a party hostel. When I arrived, one bathroom was flooded. It smells. Beds are fine. Did I mention that it's loud?

I had a really bad night here. The room was small and the AC and ventilation were not strong enough for the number of people so the temperature rose. I left the room eventually during the night because it was unbearable to me. The staff was not service oriented at all. I couldn't get a refund for a second night i had booked even though the hostel was not full at all. They told me the room temperature was 23 degrees so my experience didn't matter to them. For me that is just really bad costumer service, so I wouldn't recommend the place, regardless of your preference of room temperature.
