CAPITANO in Herceg Novi

Wow, what an amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff was waiting to welcome us so warmly. The hotel itself is beautiful — every detail, piece of furniture, and design touch was clearly thought out with care. It truly feels like a boutique property: small, intimate, and very personal. Our host was incredibly kind and personable, making us feel right at home. Every staff member we met was wonderful — special thanks to Shasha for creating such a wonderful memory for us. The cook was also amazing, and we are grateful for the warmth and hospitality.
My husband had called ahead to share that we were celebrating our honeymoon and asked for a surprise room decoration. The host and staff went above and beyond, making it so special and unforgettable. We are deeply thankful for the thoughtfulness, kindness, and effort that made our stay extraordinary. This is more than just a hotel — it’s a heartfelt experience we will always remember. Great view over the bay and such a nice location right by the ferry, easy for exploring. Rooms are clean, comfortable and the breakfast is fresh and simple. Parking was easy which really helped since we had a car. The staff are the real highlight though — so friendly, welcoming and always happy to help. They really made the stay feel special. Would definitely come back.

Lovely hotel! The breakfast was exceptional, free private parking on site which was very important to us. Staff was always ready to help and the whole team is really lovely. They also offer laundry service and exceptional dining options which you should try out for sure! Better than most of the restaurants too! We all enjoyed our stay and will surely be back in the future.

I don’t have enough words to describe how phenomenal this hotel was. From planning birthday surprises to helping us acquire cabs (not easy in Montenegro) and preparing meals that I will be thinking about for years, this was one of the best hotel stays I’ve had.

The staff goes above and beyond, the chef is world class, and the rooms are super quiet, very large, and gorgeous. We will definitely be back!

Lovely little place. Staff very helpful. Superb breakfasts that effectively saved lunch. We stayed for dinner twice and really enjoyed it. We were also very happy they provided an earlier breakfast and lunch they were under no obligation to do when we went to Dubrovnik. You ideally need a car but at least away from the traffic around Kotor.

Hotel Capitano was the end of our honeymoon, and what a finale. Service was perfect, and it's such a small hotel that you get it alot of the time all by yourself. The evening at the restaurant was very romantic, and food delicious. The room had a very big and comfortable and the shower amazing. Breakfast had everything that you could wish for. 10/10

Phenomenal hotel, wonderful architecture, good restaurant, lovely atmosphere. Clean, generally very good at communication.
As others have noted, parking is a bit of a walk on a narrow road, but that's standard for this area.
Had a minor issue with receiving room service (room was entered, bed was made) when we explicitly asked not to and had the do not disturb sign on the door, otherwise would be 5 stars.
Very close to the ferry allowing easy access to Kotor and elsewhere.

This hotel is beautiful. Felt very exclusive with so few rooms. Lovely small pool right outside your room door. The room was stunning and we loved the view of the ferry port. Great breakfast spread plus a menu card. A shop 2 minutes away. Nice restaurants walking distance. The highlight are the amazing staff, Ana and Elena. They went above and beyond to help us with arranging beach visits, boat tours, being kind with our toddler and going so far as to finding toys for her to take to our room. Dinner there was our first and best meal of our whole 2 weeks in the Balkans. Great chef and very friendly server. The hotel also produce their own wine which I would highly recommend. Super accommodation. The only thing is that it can be noisy as there is a ferry station just in front of the hotel.
Beautiful breakfast and dinner next to the swimming pool, very charming ambiance.
Stuff is very welcoming and professional.
