Qawra Point Holiday Complex

I don't know how this hotel can call itself 4 star so I'd ignore that for a start.
I know you get what you pay for and this is on the lower price scale but I still expect better quality than this, I'm sure similar priced hotels in the area are better value.
The hotel looks to have been in decline for the last 20 years with no attention given to its upkeep, pretty much everything you look at looks run down.
In our room alone, the shower head holder was falling out of the wall, no bath plug, grubby stained bath, bathrobe hooks on the back of the bathroom door loose, writing on the wall in main room area, sticker stains on balcony sliding doors, balcony sliding door could barely be opened by my wife, curtains hanging off broken rails, no TV remote (you have to pay a deposit for one!!) never seen that before....I didn't bother as the screen on the wall was smaller than my laptop screen... What's the point.
So much more to mention throughout the hotel but I won't.
The breakfast was the same every morning but adequate I suppose...which is a plus.
The staff at reception were helpful without a welcoming smile.
The bed was ok, and as we were out most of the time as planned it did a job but I would not recommend it.
I really don't want to lay into them but it was poor, it had nothing good going for it.

Don't recommend this hotel supposed to be a 4 star it's more like a 2. We said for a hotel room all inclusive arrived at 3am was given keys to an apartment round back of the hotel. It was filthy the window was falling off its hinges. In the bathroom, the cooker hood looked as though it was dropping to bits the door casings & doors were dirty. We complained they said they would sort it out at 9am next day. Went to reception 9am spoke to the manager Bernice she said there were no rooms available till the next day then she would get us in the hotel which is what we paid for in the 1st place. Went next day got a room in hotel which was a little better. But the ceiling had a leak at some time, and the plaster was coming off the ceiling, the bathroom tiles were cracked and grubby. The ceiling fan in the room was full of dust. Another nightmare was all the students in the hotel it was like student accommodation. They were up all night till 4 & 5am shouting, running up & down the hotel corridors, banging doors, and setting the fire alarm off. We came home more stressed than we went. My husband and I definitely won't be going there again and would recommend it to anyone. Most people in the hotel complained as none of us got any sleep for all the noise the students made and they said they would not return again and some had been going there for years. The food was very basic, not much variety. Sometimes barely warm. On one occasion, a lady found a bug in her rice she took it back, and they took the rice back in the kitchen. Some of the staff were very nice.

I stayed at the Canifor Hotel last week and I can say it is an AWFUL hotel! As someone said before on the reviews I wouldn’t recommend to an enemy. There were students staying who don’t know how to behave! They show no regard or respect for other paying guests! But, trust me, they were not our biggest problem. The hotel itself lets everything down.
We found for 3 days in a row cockroaches in our bedroom. The hot tub had dust settled in the bottom. The pool was disgusting .The food is hideous, I paid for breakfast and dinner but the food was so bad that we ended up having dinner in another places. The staff don’t know what good costumer service means. They’re extremely rude. Malta is so beautiful but after this horrible experience with this hotel I won’t be coming back. Definitely not a 4 star hotel.

- The room and the bathroom wasn’t dirty but the whole apartment was very tired and in need of modernisation. To say it was basic is being generous. The actual bed linen was clean. Fortunately we were only there one night. The man on reception at the night time when we arrived was not at all welcoming.. The tiles in the bathroom had been patched and there had obviously had been a issue with damp that had been dealt with but just that area having a coat of paint.
