The San Anton Hotel

Lovely pool area and nice reception area. The food and beverage staff were nice people. It was very cheap and so we knew not to expect an amazing room but there were some things that need improving and wouldn’t cost that much but make all the difference. The floor in our room was absolutely filthy, I would guess there has been no mopping in about 4 months my white socks are all stained. Glasses would be nice for drinks, an iron and ironing board, new hairdryers needed as well. The electrics in the room are controlled by they room key, which makes sense to save electricity while people are out but the fridge turns off when you leave so we never had any cold beverages or if we wanted to store a snack it wouldn’t be refrigerated whilst we were out. We didn’t receive any information at check-in (which floor our rooms on, how to control the electrics: we thought it was broken and had to go ask, what time and where breakfast was, what time was check-out etc. Also on check out there was no “how was your stay” or “I hope you had a great time” it was just “ok” and take the key. There’s definitely some staff there that want to make it work and we were routing for it as it has potential but these little things are avoidable and don’t cost much at all to really improve the stay for the guests. The location was okay, walkable to the main square and beach etc. Very affordable and so for that we can’t be too harsh. We had a great holiday and only really used the hotel for a base whilst we discovered Malta.

We arrived and all was well till we entered our room which looked like a hostel. The TV was not working, the connection behind the tv was bare , the beds were awful as my friend injured her back falling though the bed. The night staff was a maintenance man which we didn’t know so we complain to him about the TV not working first and foremost. He went to get a new control. Try to open up another room couldn’t get access to the other room which I thought was strange then told us he would come back 45 minutes later. We went back downstairs. He had gone home and left us another reception. Staff took control and moved us to another room saying that the manager will be in contact in the morning to sort out the fact that my friend fell through the bed and injured her back. The TV was not working. The bathroom was awful. It was disgusting. We managed to get through the night known for where we gonna be. Woke up early in the morning to catch our flights, we tried to speak to the receptionist who said that he could not locate the manager Kait or Jackie. We explained the situation he assured us to get in contact with us and rectify the situation by giving us a refund. we’ve come home now got through to ******* and the hotel are playing that they don’t understand. They’re not acknowledging the situation but yet my friend has a doctors note we have pictures of everything do not go to this hotel if you want to experience a good night if you want something really cheap and accommodating we only put this hotel because the Bora Bora hotel we stayed in we had to do an extra night and they were quite expensive so we thought we’d go around the corner and we thought we was getting a deal for one night, but it was the worst deal ever it was horrible. There were spiders on the floor crawling around. It was disgusting. Do not go to that hotel they don’t they don’t take accountability the TVs do not work so if we was there for more than two days, I think I would’ve screamed. We just couldn’t wait to get out of there

No t.v. no kettle breakfast only one plate to eat otherwise you need to pay if you take another plate dirty pool

The hotel is rundown and old, the rooms are less than mediocre, we thought booking a deluxe room would make a difference but it didn't,old metal beds with a mattress that should have been thrown away about 10 years before. About the cleanliness there were a lot to be desired. Just changing towels and bedsheets, the bathroom upon arriving was not properly cleaned,no shower curtain no anti slip mat,no shower products no hairdryer as advertised... In the long week stay nobody cleaned the bathroom and nobody moped... This hotel is not up to the international standards of a three star hotel dirty ,old and unkept... The staff was polite but not really helpful as they don't provide info about the island and anything that you can do around... Also the location is quite remote ...All in all never again in this hotel.

This is the worst kip I have ever stayed in. How it even gets a star rating is beyond belief. The place is filthy. Run down so called Irish Bar, the Molly Malone, is an insult to a proud nation. They obviously know nothing about Ireland if they believe this is what an Irish bar looks like. The toilets in the hotel reception area are disgusting, along with smelling like a Rabbit Warren. The bedroom I was allocated didn't have a working TV. My request to have it sorted was scoffed at. The room hasn't been properly cleaned in an age, and certainly wasn't cleaned while I was there. The bathroom was disgusting and infested with every type of creepy crawly. Shower was an absolute joke,but I managed to get loads of steps in running around in the bath trying to get wet. All in all a horrible hotel experience. It doesn't deserve a listing on any holiday site and should be struck as a hotel. More akin to a doss house

Absolutely awful. disgusting place. Location is like being in the middle of a war zone. The photos must have been airbrushed, it was nothing like them. Outside bar was closed, the food area was like a storage area so no food only in the bar along the side molly malone which was a dark dingy place. The room was awful with no balcony only around the corner which wouldn't even sit one so no day light in the room. Walking down tot he sea from and restaurants was a challenge, narrow awful side streets where you had to walk in the road and very dirty. Eating places ok but not the best. We did find a good restaurant Macedonian restaurant, staff and food excellent. I wouldn't even give this place a 1 star. DON'T DO IT
