Cornucopia Hotel

Lovely hotel with great staff. Excellent breakfast and evening menus. Pool areas very clean with ample sun loungers. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The Cornucopia Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the food was very good. We were told we had been upgraded but our room fell short of what you expect in a 4. star hotel. The mattress was awful, you could feel and see all the springs, the pillows were lumpy and poor. The patio door to the balcony did not lock. The door to our room was difficult to lock & unlock, taking 30-60 seconds to open sometimes. Would not meet fire regulations. The window in the bathroom could not be opened. We had water dripping through our wardrobes from the roof above. The manager came, put another towel on the shelf to absorb the water and said it would be 'fine'. The water leaked on our clothes in the wardrobe. This had been happening for some time as the shelves and base of the wardrobe were warped with the water. We had a great time, but not great sleep. Hotel rooms need a refit, and locks need changing for safety.

I recently stayed here while traveling for business. The staff were courteous, and the hotel’s convenient location was a big plus. Initially, my company had booked me into a single, older room that didn’t quite meet my personal comfort preferences. While the room was clean and functional, it felt a bit outdated for my needs during this trip. However, I spoke with the on-duty manager, Brian, who was incredibly helpful and professional. He promptly upgraded me to a bigger room without any hassle, ensuring my stay was much more comfortable. Top marks to Brian and the team I highly recommend staying here!

Just had another lovely stay at the Cornucopia. It's so relaxing and travelling alone, I feel really safe and looked after. All the staff are lovely and so helpful. The room is really clean and the beds are comfy. The Cornucopia is my little haven and I'll definitely keep coming back.

Loved this hotel, friendly staff and delicious food. Rooms were clean but the bathrooms need updating but overall very good. Views were beautiful and not far to walk to the main square, where there are plenty of restaurants. Would stay again

The Cornucopia Hotel is charming with fantastically helpful staff who repeatedly ask if there’s anything they can do for you. It is a bit of a walk from the village of Xarha so if you’re not hiring a car, book on the half board basis so you can eat dinner in the hotel. The room was spotless with a comfortable bed, a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Take your own toiletries tho as only hand and body wash is supplied, no shampoo. Electricity sockets are UK compatible. We had a balcony overlooking the pool but the weather was very cold, windy and wet so we couldn’t sit outside. Bit of a nuisance that the room was too small to contain an armchair or table. Tho we did use the bar area a couple of times. The food was really quite good but, as someone who doesn’t eat meat, i had a few gripes. I do eat fish which was consistently delicious but I don’t want to do that all the time. The only alternative offering over and over again was aubergine or zucchini parmigiana. Two things wrong with that: I don’t particularly like aubergines and Parmesan is not vegetarian as it’s set with animal rennet. I was also offered pasta with pesto - totally unimaginative and void of protein, omelette equally boring. Breakfast is served 7.30 till 10 - lovely, but the baked beans were always cold by the time we got there at 9.30. And, of course, no sign of a vegetarian sausage! We walked a lot and used Bolt or Uber to get taxis everywhere. They’re really cheap and convenient because buses are few and far between and you mostly have to do the 20-25 minute walk to the village to catch one. We were there for a fortnight and I don’t really think Gozo has enough to occupy you for that many days especially if the weather is as awful as ours. But it is friendly and quiet so preferable to Malta.

Had a really great stay at this hotel. Nice room with an incredible view (we had the Valley view room and the Citadel at night was incredibly beautiful). Two pools and wonderful grounds. The staff and people who run this hotel are lovely. Always on hand to offer advice and point you in the right direction and incredibly friendly. I really appreciated the fact that on our last day, they let us use all the facilities long after we had checked out - we had a late flight and it was nice to come back from exploring to just chill by the pool with a book.
If you want a romantic break away from the hustle and bustle of the mainland I'd highly recommend this place. And spend the extra money on the valley view if you can. Well worth it.
