Grand Hotel Gozo in Ghajnsielem

What a lovely experience my wife and I had at the Gozo Hotel from the 6th to 9th December 2025. Beautiful Island, Hotel, and Staff. Service second to none, food was fantastic, hotel was immaculate. My wife has a food allergy and she was so well looked after. Will definitely be going back there. Many thanks to you all.

The most relaxing winter season vacation;
- Hotel situated, a single hill away, upon arriving the harbour
- Breathtaking scenery of both surrounding greenery and the sea

An Outstanding Stay at the Grand Hotel Gozo – Pure Island Magic

Our recent trip to the Maltese Islands was unforgettable, but what truly elevated the entire experience was our stay at the Grand Hotel Gozo. Perched with breathtaking views over Mgarr Harbour and the Gozo Channel, this hotel doesn’t just offer a place to sleep – it feels like the warm, welcoming heart of the island itself.
From the moment we arrived, the genuine hospitality shone through. A special mention must go to Vladimir at the front desk, whose infectious enthusiasm and spot-on recommendations shaped our entire itinerary. Whether it was the best hidden cove for swimming, a family-run restaurant serving lampuki pie that dreams are made of, or the perfect sunset spot at the Citadel, his suggestions were pure gold. He didn’t just point us in the right direction – he made us feel like honoured guests discovering Gozo for the first time.
The staff throughout the hotel were equally wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble: seamless check-in after a late ferry, thoughtful touches in our sea-view room (including extra pillows and a welcome plate of local pastizzi), and daily housekeeping that was discreet yet impeccable. Every interaction – from the breakfast team remembering how we liked our coffee to the concierge arranging a private boat trip on short notice – felt personal and heartfelt.
The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and furnished with that perfect blend of modern comfort and Maltese character. Waking up to the sight of fishing boats bobbing in the harbour below and Comino in the distance was a daily highlight. The rooftop pool and terrace became our go-to spot for evening drinks as the sun dipped behind the hills – sheer bliss.
In a destination filled with charming boutique properties, the Grand Hotel Gozo stands out not because it tries to be the flashiest, but because it nails the essentials with warmth and authenticity. It made our transition from the bustle of home to the relaxed rhythm of Gozo completely seamless and left us counting down the days until we can return.
If you’re heading to Gozo, do yourself a favour and make the Grand Hotel your base. We’ve stayed in many lovely places across Malta and Gozo, but this one felt like coming home. Five stars isn’t enough – thank you, Vladimir and the entire team, for making our holiday truly special. We’ll be back soon!

Last minute booking at 100€/night
Room was better than expected for a standard one.
Bed were confortables, we had selections of tea and coffee in the room as well as bottles of water.
The nice surprise was the little outdoor area with a great view on the port of Gozo.
Bathroom is a little outdated.
We can hear everything from the corridor and very early in the morning.
The reception was smooth and they even offered us some orange juice when arriving.
The bar area is very nice (with outside area as well) and coffees are pretty cheap.
Nice to have a checkout at 12 instead of 11am like many places.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hotel Gozo. We were in the newer section of the hotel (room 867). The bathroom was large and modern with a lovely stand alone tub, double sinks and separate shower and toilet area and modern looking tiles. The room was spacious with beautiful view of the harbor and ferry terminal. Modern decor and comfortable bed with a table and seating area. Air-conditioning good (maybe a warning in the welcome package that it will turn off every time you open the patio door and you need to press the small button on the top to turn on again each time - we thought it was broken at first but then clued in that it turned off after we opened the patio door - we never left the patio door open but just opening the door will turn it off- would have been nice to have instructions about that) The staff was super friendly, Nicola at reception was very helpful and friendly which we appreciated. The housekeeping staff Ramesh cleaned our room spotless and left a lovely towel art for us. The breakfast was good. The pool was ok, the only negative was lack of pool towels as they were always out at the front desk . Breakfast was good and included which was nice. Also was able to walk to the hotel from the ferry terminal (about a 7 minute walk)

Our room was on the 8th floor in the new part of the hotel and it was very spacious and comfortable with a huge bed.
The views of the harbour and ferry terminal are excellent.
Lovely pool area with an internal phone to place orders for food and drinks from the bar and the service was great.
The breakfasts are spot on with lots of choice and the restaurant and snack food is up with the best I've had anywhere.
All in all it was a very enjoyable stay.

Really liked this hotel, rooms had absolutely everything we needed. Staff were all great and incredibly professional and helpful. We were enjoying the food and service during our breakfast and dinner. Thank you for a great holiday to Rahvi and whole team.
