Thistle Port Dickson

Despite the 3-star rating that I'm giving, this is a hotel that I look forward to staying again in the near future. The staff is definitely one of the nicest, and most hospitable group I've ever encountered. Congratulations to the team, from the check-in staff to the food & beverage team.

Here are what I would recommend for this hotel to improve on:

1. Bug spray for ants especially, my rooms all had a common drawback which is ants crawling near the kettle area.

2. Tiling work of the bathroom must be taken care of, there are exposed/cracked tiles that make the room look unkept

3. Love the poolside food stall, the food is amazing. But the payment/ordering process is confusing and inefficient. Remove the need to buy vouchers, and allow the staff to handle orders/payment directly.

Aside from the above, the room service is good for value and actually delicious. However, the room service team need to manage orders better, and manage timing expectations better.

Beautiful and disabled friendly facilities. Hotel staff are very warm and helpful too. Really nice pool for the kids to soak themselves in. I give this hotel 5 stars!

This resort is huge but very old. Facilities are quite dated and are in need of a serious upgrade. You get the feeling that no one really renovated this place ever since COVID when hotels were desolate. Rooms are very spacious - especially bathrooms - but have no decor and the wall and flooring materials are crumbling down. Do not be misled by photos on the hotel website - they are several years old! Beach is amazing but has NOT a single sun-bed or sun umbrella. There are only two restaurants - which is very limited for a resort of this size. The only bright spot - is the SPA salon, which in fact does not belong to the hotel but is located across the parking lot. Services in SPA are of very high standard and excellent quality.

The rooms and exterior is too old - doesn’t seem to 5 star resorts.
Pool bar service is terrible. Waited for pizza for an hour as one guy staff is working even on Friday..
Pools close at 7pm.
Breakfast is terrible.
