Lamai Bay View Resort

Beautiful view from the bungalow. The small public beach nearby had very few people, which made it peaceful. The area is quiet, located at the beginning of Lamai. If you’re planning to go to the center of Lamai, you’ll need a motorbike — the hotel conveniently rents scooters.

The room was clean. The shower and bathroom could be improved. The hotel restaurant is nice, but the receptionist and waitress seemed a bit confused and spoke very little English. The staff overall appeared unhappy, and during our 5-day stay, we didn’t see anyone smiling.

I stayed here recently and absolutely loved the beachfront view from my room, it felt like I had my own private beach! The view was truly to die for 😍

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I had requested a simple birthday decoration, and not only did they prepare that, they also surprised me with a super cute cake (which I didn’t even ask for!). That was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture 🥹🎂

Also, for the view, service, and experience you get, it’s seriously great value for money. Thank you so much for making my stay in Samui so memorable 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

p/s: I stayed in Room 108, highly recommend requesting this room if you want the besttttt view! Just be prepared for a bit of stairs (if you don’t mind) but totally worth it!

Memorable Stay!!

I spent 3 nights in this resort with family. Mr.Pipe owner of the resort was really friendly and take good care, as well as, other staffs. They are able to recommend sightseeing tours and plans during our visit.

For the resort itself is located in prime location, the private beach in front of the resort is easily enjoyable and walkable from the room! Clear sea wave and long beautiful beach in front of the resort. We are so happy for staying in this resort.

I will be back to stay in this resort for sure!!

Hidden gem on Lamai beach, you feel like you have your own private slice of the beach if you stay in bungalows 403/404, stunning views, a 20/30 min walk away from the bustling area of Lamai and the night market…perfect if you want to relax away from the madness. Great service, bungalows cleaned and water/towels restocked daily, pool area is bliss and the garden is immaculate. Amazing price for what you get. Will come back 🥹

We had a good time at Lamai Bay Resort with only a couple of reservations that'd make us think twice before booking again.

Pros:

Even though we didn't get a chance to spend too much time at the pool it's definitely easy to 'waste' a day chilling out in and around the clean, cool water.

The resort was kind enough to bump us to a beach side bungalow which was really a stones throw away from the water and you couldn't hope for much of a better location.

The resort itself is right next to Lamai so if you're brave enough for a scooter ride you're only five minutes away from more beaches, restaurants and bars.

The breakfast buffet was decent with many continental and traditional options which you can stack your plate with.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Half-Cons:

It's one of the more pricey resorts we've paid for so these are only really cons because of the price tag.

The bungalows were honestly fine but as we had put down a little more money than usual I'd have hoped for something just a little fancier. If you knocked the price down 500 baht I wouldn't have even thought to mention it. It's nice, but it's basic done nicely.

Cons:

The only straight up negative I think worth mentioning is the restaurant. The servers were nice but the meals were dead average. For a fish and chips and a Tom Yum style soup, plus one beer and a tea, we paid 700 baht which really should be the price of a meal with a little extra care put into it. The food wasn't terrible, but I'd put it in the 200 price range even with island prices considered.

Conclusion:

All in all it was an enjoyable couple of days and you're going to have an enjoyable time with what the resort has to offer. Would we go back to Lamai Bay View Resort? Even considering other resorts in its price range? Maybe, but probably not.
