Location: 7 km from airport, in the Eastern part of Koh Samui, between Chaweng and Lamai in a quiet location on the shores of Laem Nan beach, Chaweng beach 4 km.

The hotel managed by JW Marriott Group of Hotels.

Consists of one 7-storey building.

Total area: 24 000 m2.

The hotel has 78 rooms.

Beach: own sandy beach, 10 m from the hotel (1 coastline). On the beach umbrellas, deck chairs: free of charge. At the pool umbrellas, sun beds: free of charge. Pool towels: free of charge.

I used the restaurants, spa, and gym, and all were well maintained, clean, and welcoming. The staff was very friendly, kind, and capable, plus they were great with my limited Thai language skills. There was always a staff member available to book an excursion or a taxi service, with suggestions for places to visit and other fun activities.

The only downside I can think of was that were was no refrigerator in the hotel room. My room was very inviting and the view from my balcony was gorgeous. The bed was comfortable, and I felt safe and secure in the hotel.

We just spent 10 days at the Renaissance, extending from our original 2. We had a great room with fantastic AC and was very clean.

The pools are a nice temperature and always spotless!

The breakfast included was delicious and full of Thai Delights.

The staff was also beyond incredible!

Bolsy in the front desk, Chef Pinmook at breakfast and A the assistant food and beverage manager really took great care of us. We would definitely return.

The only downside of the hotel is the rocky beach in front, however they have water shoes to use for free and there’s other nearby beautiful sandy beaches

We had a wonderful stay at the Renaissance Koh Samui. We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make it a memorable stay for us. Our private pool oceanfront villa was truly special. The staff were incredibly friendly and we would like to thank Chin, Bess and Jelie for your attentiveness. They even provided us with a complimentary couples photo shoot around the resort grounds. The food was also wonderful and the beach buffet and cocktail hour were perfect to capture wonderful days on the island. The rooms were slightly outdated and needs a refresh which is planned for next year. We look forward to staying again especially when that has been completed. Would highly recommend!

My partner and I spent a week at this resort. The grounds are quite beautiful and well maintained. As with many resorts on Koh Samui, there are lots of stairs at the Renaissance. Lots ! We enjoyed a pool villa which was wonderful and large and with its own small pool. We were located in 103 which looked out over the pool and onto the beach and ocean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had meals at both restaurants plus room service and attended the beach barbecue. All meals were beautifully prepared and quite tasty. The beach barbecue was a highlight. The breakfast buffet was good and they have an egg station which can also prepare pancakes and French toast with mango and banana - a highlight. Whilst all the staff spoke some English there comprehension was not always great and led to some frustrating moments trying to explaining something repeatedly. The hotel itself is reasonably remote and to get to any reasonable shops or restaurants you need to venture into Lamai or Chaweng. The resort only offers very limited shuttles and so you need to arrange a taxi or grab to get out and about. The resort is okay however I was expecting more for a Renaissance hotel.

Very nice hotel, older but well maintained with beautiful surroundings, delicious breakfast, very tasty authentic food in the restaurant. Beach is very shallow and not really for swimming but looks picturesque. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Bess as great manager, really devoting his time to help guests and super nice Jenny anticipating people’s needs. Nice spa area and good massage! Location is a little away from the main street in Lamai and the rooms are not the newest but still in good shape. Generally super nice stay, recommended!

Having selected two different rooms we had experienced most of the facilities of the resort. Absolutely amazing service, good breakfast though limited selection. Fabulous restaurant. Clean and specious rooms. Beautiful gardens.

The only thing I did not enjoy was the quality of the bed 🛌 and pillows.

Great activities for everyone who wanted some entertainment.
Highly recommend this resort for anyone who is not looking for a wild night craze. Good for families, singles and couples.

Nice resort with friendly staff - we enjoyed our 5 days stay very much. The beach area is not the best tho and the prices for drinks, food and spa are a little bit too high for my opinion. However, all in all I can recommend

Very beautiful resort set in lush gardens. Spacious villas with private pool. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, there seems to be a good atmosphere and people are genuinely happy. Yum breakfast. Beautiful semi private beach with shallow waters, ideal for small kids. Good kids and main pool. Only downside was that there were a lot more mosquitos than elsewhere we stayed on Ko Samui.

Despite it is aged, the hotel proper maintained. However, there are ugly scratches on wooden furnitures in the room which should be renovated. The gym, spa, and swimming pool are considered average compared to other 5-star hotels. The best thing is the staff’s top-notch service. They tried their best to make my stay pleasant. Overall, it is a nice hotel with a good price.

Highly recommend Renaissance Koh Samui, especially for events. My husband and I had a private wedding ceremony here in March, and everything was even better than we could have imagined! Ant was wonderful to work with and coordinated everything from the ceremony details, the officiant meeting, a private dinner on the beach, and a honeymoon breakfast for us. We had already booked travel plans around Thailand, which limited our flexibility, but Ant was able to make everything work. She was even able to book a last-minute spa appointment for me the day we arrived. All the staff were wonderful and even took part in celebrating us during the ceremony. The attention to detail was superb, and the sunset on the beach was surreal and was the perfect backdrop for our wedding. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, and the private beach was wonderful. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget.
