We loved everything about our stay at Vongdeuan Resort. There is a temporary pier just steps from the resort, and it's possible to get a speed boat right to the beach from the mainland. That service is on a regular schedule both coming and going. I think it was 300 Baht one way. The resort is right on the beach, but it also has a nice pool. We enjoyed alternating between swimming in the surf and then taking a relaxing dip in the pool. We met an interesting mix of people from all over the world, some with kids others without, and everyone was super friendly and relaxed. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well appointed. The resort menu has a good selection of dishes, western and traditional Thai, and the complimentary breakfast was tasty with many options. We enjoyed dinner on the beach one evening, and I recommend that highly, providing the weather cooperates 😅 The staff were always really friendly, and greeted us with warm smiles and pleasant words every day. Our plan had been to stay for just a couple of days, but we ended up extending to five days since we were having so much fun. Thanks for everything Vongdeuan Resort. We will definitely return!

Decent enough hotel, clearly it used to be a premium resort, albeit now dated and rooms are looking a bit tired. Peaceful enough mostly with plenty of beach and poolside seating. Breakfast is acceptable but often consists of 3-4 hot plate dishes that few people I think would choose for breakfast (e.g. Spaghetti Bolognese). There are normally two soup / porridge type options along with a very limited fruit selection (watermelon and pineapple). There is bread for DIY toast and Yogurt. Coffee is ok.
Pleasant enough for a stay of 4-5 days IMO but we were not sad to leave.
Positive Points

Reasonable lunch / dinner restaurant menu but quality is not consistent.
Most staff pleasant and welcoming

Miserable reception staff (seem to view customers as an interference rather than people to welcome and provide a service to)
Room air con in our case was either too warm or freezing cold and seemed to bear no resemblance to remote setting (24° felt more like 19°; 25 felt like 30°)
Rooms dated and tired
No safe for valuables in room.
Extremely hard mattress and pillows
No shower screen so the bathroom floor gets soaking wet every time you shower
Seemingly little use made of bathroom cleaning products, started to smell after a few days.
Noisy fridge (can wake you up cutting in and out until you get used to it).
Poor WiFi reception in most places
Sound of yapping dogs at night sometimes which will likely wake you up

We had the pleasure of staying at Vongdeuan Resort for two nights. Unlike as what we’ve read in some of the other reviews, we found staff to be super kind, welcoming, and accommodating towards us but especially towards our two young kids (4 and 2). The food in the restaurant (breakfast/lunch/dinner) is great and the location at the beach also fine. Rooms are good, although adding a mosquito net wouldn’t be too much of a luxury (as some of the hotels in the area do). But overall, we would absolutely recommend it to stay!

We had a beautiful holiday here with our 3 year old. Nice and lovely staff. Beautiful beach and swimming pool. Wake up in the forest sound daily. It’s soothing.

Have stayed here many times before, but not for several years. We booked the beach houses which are right at the front. The staff and service was extremely friendly, remembering us after maybe a 6-7 year absence. Kitchen and restaurant are good and cope with busy periods quite well. Very relaxed atmosphere.

They do a desent Pad Thai at a fair price, but the coffee is very good!The sandart rooms are okay.. The beach and the sea is nice.. All in all, everthing is standart and okay - but nothing fancy. 👌🏽

The beach was beautiful, staff friendly and helpful, looking forward to staying there in 2022.

White cottage is cute. Amenities, shampoo, soap. Food was very delicious(o^～^o)morning sun is spectacular.

It was our honeymoon! The place was so amazing. The resort is just beside the beach. Our cottage was in the middle of the forest. The room was well equipped. Staff was friendly and helpful. The food was awesome too. If you want to spend a holiday in the cool sea breeze, birds charming all day, good food and good location then you can choose it. We will surely visit again. :)

Epic!!! We rented a scooter ripped around the island for the day, 500b for the whole day. I returned the key the next morning at 9 am. As for the resort, highly recommend it, the service was great and the drinks were really good, the food was great as well. Clean rooms, we upgraded to pool side, I don't know if it was totally worth it. Only because the whole resort is really nice. Clean and quiet it's worth the money. As for the boats they leave the mainland in the morning and at 1:30 pm, go to the VR office!! Then they will get you to the boat. Lol. Going and leaving, Get the shuttle service!!!!! So much easier than what we did. All in all 5 stars, we met some really great people at the resort, it's their 6th time going and they love it. Enjoy!
