Reviews
The hotel: Was lovely, spotless and lots of staff always on hand to help with any queries. Reception was a lovely place to sit with a drink, having a bar and a cocktail bar. The bottom floor has the main restaurant and a couple of shops which weren't that much more expensive than out of hotel shops - it cost my son £10 for a (fake obv) Turkey football top sized for a 9 year old. The lifts are very slow so worth taking the stairs if you can.
The pools: Were fab, three pools on one side of the hotel for the kids with load of slides and fun to be had. Lots of sunbeds around the pools - we never had any trouble finding four beds to put together. The other side of the pool has a bigger and deeper pool without any slides and is better for just chilling. Again there are lots of sunbeds around the pool. In the middle of the two pool areas is the pool bar where you can get cold soft drinks and alcoholic drinks all day, there's a spring water machine and a coffee machine. Also beside that is the snack bar which is open over the lunch and afternoon times for burgers, chips and other such snacks along with a waffle stand.
Trips: We went on a pirate ship trip which was amazing, it was a four and a half hour trip including lunch, swimming in the sea, seeing caves around the shoreline and generally just a lot of fun. The kids loved jumping into the sea from the sides of the ship.
Firstly the good stuff. Rooms and hotel are clean, fridge with free water, staff on the whole are good, pools are excellent (especially for kids) and just enough sun loungers. AI drinks are fine if you aren't fussy. Location is brilliant, a short walk to the beach (or take the free bus) and access to their sister hotel Island which is massive and even more fun. Little shops on-site are reasonable, very kid/family friendly, safe, secure. WiFi is decent but doesn't cover all the hotel. There's a family of camels outside. Little supermarket over the road with the friendliest staff possible. Didn’t see a cloud all holiday, maxed out at about 37 degrees.
Bad - the entire place is designed to remove money from your wallet. For a four-star hotel, I'd expect a lot less of this. Sure - branded drinks or specific services fine, but everywhere you turn they want money. We checked in at 5AM and the first thing they did was try to sell us an upgraded room. Then they asked if we'd like to upgrade to a different hotel (!). All we wanted to do (2 adults, 2 children) was go to bed. Want ice cream? Apart from a two-hour window, you have to pay. I've never seen ice cream treated as a premium commodity. Cocktails were 7 euros a pop and nothing to shout about. Bingo was 18 Euros for one game. Do you enjoy a relax by the pool? So do I. But then someone wants to sell you a tattoo session. A Turkish Bath/Spa thing. Want a cocktail? A photo with Jack Sparrow? More cocktails? You get the idea. You couldn't move for Tip boxes in every possible location. Want fresh orange with your meal? That's another euro. I've stayed in many 4-star all inclusives, maybe Turkey is different. You weren't allowed a tray, so people were inverting tables and using them to carry multiple drinks. Classy.
Indifferent - entertainment was so-so - most of it was the on-site team doing their best, couple of dance shows, not my cup of tea. The food was edible - some of it was quite bizarre (soup for breakfast?) but you usually found something. No show cooking. Outside of the core hours it was burgers or pizza. Most outside staff (bar, lifeguards) were on their phones, smoking, or had airpods in. Electricity went off quite a few times, some people were trapped in a lift. There's a mosque nearby which has some sort of loudspeaker to call people to pray at 4-5AM. So if you're a light sleeper then take some noise-cancelling headphones. There is construction work on the other side of the road too, not ideal but guess they have to build sometime. Transfer time is huge, from check in at Newcastle to getting the room keycard was 11 hours (+2 hours time difference). That's a long time with kids, so be prepared. The minibus transfer drivers also stop off at the same shop/takeaway joint which adds another 20 mins (see above - everything designed to remove funds from your wallet). No reps on site - so no-one to give you the talk about do’s and don’ts. Or sell you stuff.
Other points:
Shopkeepers! Honestly if you venture to the strip to the right of the hotel, go nowhere near the shops. The owners are grabby, overbearing, threatening and downright abusive. After three shops I'd had enough and my kids and wife were almost to tears. Turkey, you need to get your act together if you want more westerners to spend their money in your shops. If you want bargains (fake goods etc) stick to the hotel shops or the ones next to the little supermarket. They are a little better behaved in there, only just though. Paying a few extra Lira is worth it.
Tours - there's loads of services on the coast which offer tours, they pick you up from the hotel and drop you off again. We did a Pirate Ship tour through Wonex and it was brilliant. Highlight of the holiday. I definitely recommend it - everything was done through Whatsapp and there was no money up front.
Airport food price - jesus! £47 for two 12-inch subway meals. £38 for Burger King meal and an extra drink.
Would I come back? YES
Air conditioned, contemporary styled rooms come with all the amenities you’d expect, including WiFi, a private bathroom and a furnished balcony or terrace. All rooms are designed to accommodate couples and families. The hotel also places great emphasis on inclusivity and offers facilities for guests with disabilities.

We couldn’t be happier.
I think it is important that people understand that you are visiting an area where tourism is the major source of income, so yes, you will be offered “upgrades” as soon as you arrive and you will be asked if you want day trips, spa treatments or cocktails etc but ultimately, people are trying to make a living and from what I purchased, it was often worth it even if you did need to haggle a little to get the best price, for me, this is all part of travelling to Turkey.
My point is, please don’t allow your first interaction to dictate how you feel about the hotel, we said no thank you to the upgrade and I am grateful we did.
We are a large family, 4 children and we found the hotel to be lovely, clean and above all else, exceptionally friendly. Our room was spacious, It was cleaned daily and we were asked several times throughout our stay if everything was ok.
The hotel swimming pools played a large part in our decision to stay at the hotel and we were not disappointed, we have 4 kids across various ages and there was a pool with slides suitable for them all and on top of that there’s an “adult” pool too! The slides are great, well maintained and with multiple life guards ensuring they are safely used, we felt comfortable letting our kids on them over and over again.
Everything you need is in the hotel directly, they have a hairdresser, shop, clothes shop, perfume/ jewellery store and a spa. My wife really enjoyed the spa.
The reviews that really annoyed me in particular were focussed on the food. I have been lucky enough to stay in a few different hotels around the world and few have been better than this. An all inclusive buffet is designed to cater for everyone, from all around the world, so yes, there might be somethings that aren’t to your taste but from what I’ve seen, each member of my family were able to find something every day they were happy with. I found it really varied and tasty and I struggle to believe reviews saying it was cold as there was countless stay continually refreshing the food to ensure it was fresh and hot. The snack bar at this hotel is also a massive plus, between 12&4 they provide burgers, pizza, chips and waffles and a variety of other items including a particularly nice traditional flatbread cooked before your eyes (the meat and cheese was my favourite but my 10 year old had cinnamon sugar every day!)
The desserts are an absolutely fantastic!
The drinks, they are what they are, soft drinks are standard, there are juices for the kids to help themselves too. I didn’t try the wine but other guest told me they loved it. I stuck to Effes which was great and they have a fairly basic spirit coverage (would have been nice to see a rum but you can’t have everything). With 4 kids, we weren’t really there for drinking, but what we had we enjoyed and the bar staff by the adult pool were fantastic and really friendly and were always willing to engage, especially with the kids.
Overall, we were really, really happy and the kids have insisted we go again! I found it a perfect little getaway for families that want to be able to relax, knowing their kids are safe and want everything in one place.
As we went off season, we didn’t expect entertainment but the animators really pulled through and put on a great show! The absolute highlight of our holiday were the “summer gang” children’s animators as they made every effort to ensure everyone (including the adults) were taking part and having fun! The entertainment started ramping up as we were leaving, but the kids disco was great and we managed to take part in lots of different things all thanks to the animators! In particular Ata and Ava, they were both so friendly, helpful and great with the kids! I honestly believe they are the main reason the kids are in such a hurry to come back!
Rooms and communal areas are kept clean and tidy with daily housekeeping.
The pools and slides are fun for all ages with regular entertainment in the day and evenings.
The food is quite varied with something for everyone, whilst it might get a bit repetitive for fussy eaters but that’s not surprising!
Drinks are quite restrictive for all-inclusive, but for the price of the holiday we really couldn’t complain and certainly enjoyed what we got.
Free access to the Eftalia Island is what makes this place worthwhile, beach areas are great, extra water park and outstanding evening entertainment!
