Telatiye Resort Hotel

We had been looking forward to a relaxing vacation, but unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was overshadowed by a deeply concerning and painful experience — quite literally. While visiting the buffet restaurant, I received a strong electric shock from one of the food stations, which resulted in a trip to the hospital. The doctors confirmed it was a real electric shock — not just static electricity, as the hotel later tried to claim. Even worse, the hotel showed no sense of responsibility. No apology. No explanation. No investigation. Had it been a child or someone elderly or vulnerable, the consequences could have been much more serious. This is completely unacceptable and should not be ignored. On top of that, the electricity went out multiple times during our stay, without any communication or updates from staff. The floors around the hotel — especially near the pool and lobby — were dangerously slippery, and I witnessed several guests fall hard. Again, no action was taken to improve safety. Other disappointments included the extremely hard beds, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. You only receive one key card per room, and unfortunately, the air conditioning and electricity only work when the card is inserted in the wall slot — meaning everything shuts off when you leave the room. If you have important medication stored in the minibar fridge, for example, the temperature rises while you're out, which can be dangerous and irresponsible on the hotel's part. The beach was also a big letdown. While it might look good in photos, in reality, it was filled with trash — both in the sand and in the water. It felt dirty and unkept, and we ended up avoiding it completely. Certainly not suitable for families with children. There were, however, a few positives. The animation team deserves special praise — they were enthusiastic, welcoming, and genuinely talented. Thanks to them, we were entertained by the pool throughout the day and never bored. The housekeeping staff, especially the room cleaners, were also very friendly and did a great job keeping the rooms clean. The food was generally tasty and varied. The restaurant kitchen and buffet staff were also kind and helpful. However, the waiters were quite rude and inattentive, which created a frustrating contrast and took away from what could have been a pleasant dining experience. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff did not live up to the same standard. From the front desk to the bars, many employees came across as uninterested, unhelpful, and in some cases outright rude. There was a clear lack of service mindset throughout the hotel. In conclusion, while the hotel has some strengths — mainly thanks to the entertainment and cleaning staff — the serious safety concerns, poor service attitude, and discomfort make it a place I cannot recommend. Especially not for families, vulnerable guests, or anyone expecting even basic levels of comfort, care, and responsibility.
