Kiwengwa Beach Resort

Sea very warm and relaxing when the high tide comes and a lot of very many people. White sandy beach you can only find in Africa something we really enjoyed. The gardens green and well maintained and watered everyday. Pools three in number you can choose where you want to be. Restaurants African, seafood, Rossini and main restaurant for all your preffered cuisine. Staff, the best you can ever find in the world.Very outstanding and friendly.

Amazing holidays in Kiwengwa beach resort Zanzibar. Two weeks was not enough in Kiwengwa.Staff are amazing and the food is top notch.African and seafood the best options of choice. The bars are many and the room was amazing with new furniture. What an amazing time in paradise

Myself, husband & friends stayed at Kiwengwa Beach Resort for two weeks at the end of January. The hotel & grounds are beautiful & well maintained. The food was plentiful, varied & very tasty. Drinks were great too & the all inclusive package did not disappoint. The staff were amazing. Always smiling, always helpful. Big thanks to Hadjib ensuring we had beach beds every day, CJ for amazing mocktails, Comfort at the bar, always quick to serve us & Ester in the buffet who was always helpful. It’s was my birthday while we were there & the staff went above & beyond to help me celebrate. Just one slight negative. Our room was right by the entrance opposite the laundry room so there was always activity outside 24/7. The room was also in desperate need of redecorating. With hindsight we should have asked for a different room but when you’ve spent 22 hours travelling you just want to go to bed! In comparison our friends room was absolutely beautiful with amazing views so I don’t think our room was representative of the rest of the accommodation. The evening entertainment was good & varied. Don’t be nervous of the Masai on the beach. They love to chat & do not give hard sell. We would definitely recommend this resort and would love to return.

"I stayed at this hotel for just one night, which unfortunately didn't give me the opportunity to explore all the facilities. However, I did get to experience the beach and restaurant. The hotel is beautifully designed and definitely deserves a longer stay. The main reason for my short visit was to explore this side of Zanzibar island. While the beach was decent, it didn’t quite compare to the Nungwi beach, as the water wasn’t as clean and clear as on the other side of the island. Despite that, I would gladly return to this hotel, especially because of the incredibly kind and helpful staff. The overall experience was great, though there’s room for improvement when it comes to the food, and the room, while acceptable, could also benefit from some upgrades. In conclusion, it was a great experience, and I’d love to come back for a longer stay." One annoying thing in Zanzibar is the beach boys, as they call them, which will disturb you as long as you are using the beach, trying to sell you anything.

The Kiwengwa Beach Resort is a wonderful hotel complex with all kinds of recreational opportunities, from sports to spa. The hotel staff are really very good. They serve the hotel guests in a friendly and quick manner and all wishes are fulfilled - if possible. The food is excellent. There is vegetarian, meat and a large selection of vegetables/salads/desserts. The food was always replenished quickly. The food is freshly cooked and looks very appealing.The beach is wonderful. It is always cleaned and the hotel staff take good care of you. A small disadvantage are the many Maasai sellers, who are however kept at a safe distance by the hotel staff and there is good support here too. I can only recommend the resort, it was a wonderful holiday and we will definitely visit the resort again.

Quiet beach, satisfactory.

The hotel is next to the beach, the beach is beautiful with white sand, and the hotel is quite large. The environment is OK, there are two bedside restaurants, one buffet restaurant that I didn't try and it looked average, and the other a la carte restaurant. It was also average. The room was normal and not luxurious, and there was nothing to see near the hotel. Stay here to enjoy the beach, don't expect as many shops as in Stone Town

This is a beautiful resort. The staff were incredibly kind and always welcome you with a smile. They have snacks and coffee/tea time throughout the day and the dinner buffets were fantastic. There is also a lot of activities like water aerobics, stretching, volleyball.
The only downside: people are allowed to smoke everywhere, on the beach, by the pool, the lobby, the chill areas. It’s really gross and very unhealthy for those who do not smoke.

Jambo! We have just returned from two weeks at the Kiwengwa Beach Resort and we had a fantastic time! Our thanks goes to the island of Zanzibar and the people who work so hard in this resort to make sure you have a great time they are the stars here without a doubt! We stayed in room 403 next to one of salt water swimming pools We were looked after by the super Juma a fantastic pool attendant who was great. Angela from the housekeeping team was fantastic did a great job,she looked after us and the room, everything was spotless and with creative towels everyday! nothing is ever perfect, but any issues we experienced were dealt with by the incredible Victor on the front of house, with a great understanding of customer service and exceeding expectations! The resort is right on the beach which is great to walk along, the sand is soft and fine, and there are some great shops and bars with friendly people along you can visit and will really appreciate your custom (we normally like to get out of the resort and visit other places just for a change from the resort) If you don’t want to be hassled by the beach sellers, polite no thank you usually does the trick, they are all pretty friendly guys. (Myuvvi next door to the resort is really good and Yakos in the little town outside the resort does the best pizza and tiramisu I have had outside of Italy!!) The food on the resort is good, we were always able to find something to eat and it was always tasty! The African buffet is good really tasty and well done it’s a buffet style but it’s well presented and fun. We only went to the fish restaurant once, again it’s a buffet style and was okay, no complaints from any of us. The Massai on the beach are on first experience a bit full on, but give them a chance, they are very friendly and if you don’t want what they want to sell you, a polite no thank you will do the trick, after that they will leave you alone. We always had a chat with them as there stories were always interesting. The animation team are great they looked after my son really well. He is 14 and we were worried he would be bored, but no chance there was always something for him to do. Faustine was great, friendly guy, a lot of fun (and see Faustine if you want any advice about trips he knows the island really well) The thing you need to know about the resort is just go, relax and let the team take really good care of you. The overall experience is good, very suitable for bringing children together, you can have fun in the hotel
