I had the BEST time staying at the Sultan Sands resort! From beginning to end my experience was truly amazing! I am a solo traveler but I din't feel alone for one moment. The staff is so incredibly friendly and they really made me feel so welcome at the resort and well taken care off. I had a Pwani Room, which was very spacious (even if I wouldn't have been by myself) with a minibar a TV and a little living room area + balcony! The room was always kept very clean, with fresh water & towels every day. And a nice turndown service every evening. The hotel is right at the beach and has loads of (water activities) privacy you need when you're at the beach. What made my experience so much better though, was the care of the hotel manager Kevin. He was truly amazing in helping me plan my itinerary, helping me arrange trips, booking taxi's. He always made sure to have a nice chat with me on a daily basis and it really adds to a great vs good experience, especially when you're traveling solo. I can go on and on about how excellent my stay was, but in short it was AMAZING!

Food excellent, lot of sallads, fish.... Good service, nice and polite employee Room was clean and good. Plaace was safe. There is a dive shop atcthe resort. Easy to book dives and snorkling trips. Beach is clean. Pole pole and hakuna matata....

We have stayed in many hotels during our travels. However, Sultan Sands is a wonderful hotel and one of the best that we have ever stayed in. Why? The hotel is located in a fantastic part of Zanzibar, with a sea that is constantly changing colour and with beautiful sands. The hotel buildings have been constructed with empathy and care to reflect the environment and country in which it is located. The food is of a high quality and well cooked. Although there is not a large choice of dishes. There is always something for everyone and staff are always willing to meet individuals' requirements. The rooms are clean and well serviced with Housekeeping on hand to meet guests' needs if further services are required. However, it is the staff that make Sultan Sands such a good hotel. From management to cleaners everyone is smiley and happy and extremely pleased to serve you with anything that you ask of them. The hotel management are visible at all times to ensure that the highest of service standards are met and to fulfil any additional guest requests. We would go back to Sultan Sands tomorrow if we could. If we are fortunate enough to be able to return to Zanzibar in the future, we will not even consider alternative hotels on this fantastic island.

The service at sultan sands was excellent from start to finish, everybody was always friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was beautiful and relaxed. The beach had security so was safe. The food was always varied and flavourful. The room looked beautiful and they even came in at night to close my curtains and get my bed ready for sleeping, such a nice touch! I need to eat gluten free and every meal time the manager found me and told me exactly what was safe for me to eat. They even made things especially for me in the kitchen separately. They also made gluten free cakes and bread!! I honestly wish I had longer here and I was so sad to leave. I can’t recommend it enough and especially if you need to eat gluten free as it can be difficult! They also made me a packed lunch for my journey home they had great entertainment nightly too

From the moment we stepped into Sultan Sands, I felt like I’d found a little piece of paradise. This wasn’t just a hotel—it was a beautiful escape with stunning views that melted my stress away. The hotel is perfectly nestled against an amazing beach, and the ocean views were breathtaking—changing every hour of the day. Don’t forget to swim in the morning when the water is high! I didn’t even want to sleep; I just wanted to soak in every moment, from the incredible sunrise to the late night. Normally, I’d search for trips outside the hotel, but there was always something to do right there (trips are still highly recommended). Hotel offered painting sessions (I brought home my own piece of art!), cooking classes, a coconut show, a visit to a local village, volleyball, and evening shows or concerts. Gerthrud and Isaac’s invitations were hard to resist—I wanted to try everything! Check the calendar so you don’t miss anything that interests you. Our bungalow was perfect—clean, tidy, and just right for three friends. The food was great, with a different variety and theme every day. As a salad and fruit lover, I was in heaven, and the local specialties were amazing. Everything was made with care, making each meal a delight. But what made Sultan Sands unforgettable was the staff. I’d love to name everyone, but the list would be too long! They were helpful, smiling, kind, and caring—everyone made us feel so welcome. Their warmth turned a great stay into something truly magical. (Warmest greetings from colder Poland to all the amazing staff!) If you’re planning a trip to Zanzibar, Sultan Sands is the place to go—it’s beautiful, fun, and feels like home. I left refreshed, happy, and already dreaming of returning.

We had the most wonderful holiday ever. It felt like a life experience. The quality of the hotel is very good. Beautiful location, delicious food, entertainment of high quality in the evening but most of all such friendly and professional staff everywhere. They really made us feel so welcome. One evening my husband had arranged with the staff a special romantic dinner on the beach. It was spectacular. Full moon, a delicious seafood menu, beautifully decorated and at the end all the staff came singing and dancing to our table with a delicious cake. Such a special and beautiful memory. We will go back for sure. It felt like coming home ❤️ Thanks to the whole staff for this holiday experience.

What an exceptional hotel, location, staff and experience Set on the Indian Ocean, with safety, luxury and hospitality- I relaxed the moment I arrived The staff were so friendly and helpful and we were made to feel at home immediately The lodge was on the beach and I saw sunrise everyday - I swam in the ocean and did aerobics in the pool The live music was wonderful and the spa treatments fabulous I recommend this hotel resort and the wonderful management and staff - fully recommended
