Also, we were treated like royalty by all we met.
The bed wasn’t so great I slept on the day bed as it was more comfortable.
The lobby is beautiful and the history of the hotel is fun
The location is going downhill. I was afraid to leave the hotel without my husband and I have zero problem in any other large city
Pros: centralized location. Lots of food and drink options.
Cons: room had faulty lights and bad water pressure. Housekeeping came around 5:30 PM to clean the room after we had been out all morning/afternoon.
Be forewarned: do not use the hotel valet to park your car. This is a terrible company (AAA Parking) that is separate from the Hyatt. They charge $60 a night for valet parking and will not accept responsibility for any damages that happen to your vehicle under their care. They do not answer phone calls. Their staff is not friendly while you are their on the property nor are they any better when filing a claim.
I recently stayed at the Atlanta Hyatt Regency on March 22-23, booking two rooms through the Hyatt app. As a loyal Hyatt customer for many years, I had high expectations for my stay, especially considering that Hyatt Regency is known for being a high-end brand, particularly for business travelers.
Unfortunately, this experience fell far below the standards I have come to expect.
I was placed in a suite's living room without a proper bed or bathroom facilities. The only sleeping option was a sofa bed, and there were no real blankets provided in either room, making the situation incredibly uncomfortable and cold-especially after a long day of walking and standing at a convention. As someone who has chosen Hyatt multiple times for its reputation in providing quality accommodations for travel, this experience was particularly disappointing.
While I understand that room types can vary due to availability, being assigned to a random living room without prior notification and proper facilities was unacceptable. I was so tired from the convention that I didn't have the time or energy to go downstairs and argue about my room. On the day of my departure, I had to catch a flight, which added to my stress.
When I approached the front desk to discuss my concerns, I was friendly and simply trying to address the issues with the room I received. However, I was met with a hurried and rude attitude from the staff, which only worsened my experience. They mentioned that if I had any problems with their actions, I should reach out to Hyatt directly. This dismissive response left me feeling uncomfortable, as I perceived it to be poor service. Instead of receiving the quality service I expected, I was left feeling undervalued and frustrated. It's clear that the front desk staff could benefit from additional training to better handle guest concerns and provide the level of service that Hyatt Regency is known for.
This experience was a stark contrast to the high standards I have come to associate with Hyatt Regency, a brand I have trusted for many years. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and works to improve the experience for future guests.
Both mornings I went to the Market for coffee. The first morning they were out of several requested items (Saturday 8/10). Vanilla, cold brew, etc. Again, no eye contact and the unwillingness to help. Everything is overpriced. I need someone to help explain how yogurt parfait is 9.00. This brings me to our second morning here (today 8/11). I ordered a yogurt parfait to bring up to my husband. We took the lid off to eat and it was chunky and separated. I tried mixing, but still chunky looking. I had a little taste… old. Not good. I paid 18.00 for two expired yogurt parfaits. My husband and I were stuck between deciding if we should go down stairs to request a refund or exchange it for something that’s edible, however we decided against it because we didn’t feel it was worth the energy to argue with rude workers. Plus, the date on the parfaits are 8/15… all I can say is that I feel bad for anyone eating these parfaits on 8/15.
The rooms: the rooms are very nice but don’t expect them to be cleaned properly. The inside of the closet was extremely dusty. My favorite part of the rooms were the empty beer cans under the sofa in the room.
This hotel could be really great if management put time into their workers with proper training.
