Sheraton Boston Hotel

The lobby is very sophisticated and has a good aesthetic to it. This isn't a big complaint because it doesn't affect everyone but the scent they have going through the lobby is VERY strong. I actually liked the smell of it but I get migraines with intense smells and because I had to check in to get my keys it did give me a migraine. Again, I know that isn't everyone but I wanted to note it.

The front service staff was super nice and were able to answer any question we had while we were there.

We did have an odd interaction leaving our room for breakfast. We hadn't packed up our stuff yet because it was about 9am and check out was 12pm. We went to leave the room and from all the way down the hall a housekeeper yelled "Hello! Are you leaving?" And we responded "Not yet, we will be right back after breakfast!" She then asked again "Are you checking out?" and we responded "Not yet." She then asked "When do you think you will be checking out? I need to clean that room" Which we responded we weren't exactly sure but we would be out by noon for sure. She didn't seem super satisfied with that answer. Just a very odd interaction. Felt like I was being pushed out.

The room itself was pretty spacious and even though our room was overlooking a roof partly you could also see the city. Beds were comfy and pillows were good. Bathroom was very small but had a good layout to accommodate the size. Only complaint about the room is that going up to the bathroom there is a small hump in the ground. I kept tripping over it when I entered and exited the bathroom. Especially at night. But overall room was good and I couldn't hear my neighbors or anything so the sound proofing was very good.

I didn't exactly have a bad time here, but I was very disappointed. I don't make a ton of money, and I saved for many months and took up many extra work hours for some extra cash. I had a nice weekend planned alone, I recognized the Sheraton name and saw the room prices and thought it was a nice glamorous place to treat myself at. I opted for the more expensive lake view room. The view was fantastic, and the bed was comfortable, but the room was not "nice" at all. It felt like a cheap Motel 6. Once I walked in, I was hit with the smell of mildew. The carpet was rippled and buckled all over, obviously moisture damage. Wallpaper in the bathrooms starting to peel... Taking a shower, I look up (I'm a tall man) and right at my face is the bathroom exhaust fan, with loads of lint and black grimey looking stuff. There were shoddy drywall patches all over the bathroom (the very very small bathroom). The bathtub had many chips in it's paint. The whole room was overall dirty/dusty. I was hoping for a nice relaxing bath in a decent spot, but the chips and old adhesive grip on that bathtub felt horrible on my skin. The AC struggled to keep me cool. Furniture is old and dinged up, looks like stuff you'd pick up for free on a street corner. The lobby and the service/staff was great. I wish I had stayed in a nicer, newer hotel. My room felt like it died in 2001. Not a "treat yourself" sort of place at all.

Very spacious room, big windows, TV with big screen, silent and good room service. The hotel is connected to a mall with excellent boutiques and restaurants. in the winter time it is big plus! Great bed, lots of light, sofa, coffee table, good armchairs, etc. Comparatively the bathroom was small, but very good shower. Helpful concierge.
