Hyatt Place Denver Downtown

Here’s the rest of the story. Valet is $64 a night, but you can park nearby for $20 or so as long as your car is out of the lot by 6am. And the hotel is in a seedy area and we were cautioned by valet to make sure and leave nothing in the car. We arrived from Atlanta at 1:30pm. Check in is 4pm. The hotel is almost empty. They would not let us check in until 4pm even though our room was ready. BUT if we pay another $29 they will let us go to our room. Our option? Sit in the lobby for 2.5 hours. Breakfast is included if you call it that. No restaurant in the hotel, no room service. You can eat snacks at the bar. When we arrived the chairs in the lobby bar were sitting upside down on the tables. Quite an image for guests to see. The valet guy was great and apologized for the valet cost. Hotel $154 and valet $64 $29 for early check in. With taxes and other fees $245 for a bad experience. Never staying here again. Area looks dangerous. We’re here for a week and checking out tomorrow.
Stay away

We, family + kids, stayed here to be close to the Denver Fan Expo. We had great experiences here before, but the hotel is living off a past reputation. The lobby was nice, breakfast wasn't anything special but they kept items replenished and warm. Our room was not worth the price. The edging pulled away from the carpet and exposed pointy staples. Maintenance was sent up to fix it, but it could only cover some of the issue. The shower was tepid at best. We were missing an extra blanket, pillow, dish towel, and had less than a full complement of towels. The pillows looked old and sad. The bed looked old and sad. It is obvious the rooms need a refresh. I hope this was just one of those things that happen as they work through updating the rooms. The value was not there though and we will not stay here next time.
