Atrium Hotel Orange County

This hotel was one of my worst hotel experiences ever! I was astonished by the musty/moldy smell upon entering. The check in process took at least fifteen minutes. I was irritated because they would not let me use my business credit card to put on file for the room. The credit card was under my company’s name and not mine. This wasn’t acceptable.

It gets worse - when I arrived to my room on the second floor, I was hit with a putrid smell that smelled like raw sewage and mold. I was immediately nauseated and opened the balcony door. This didn’t help. After about 30 minutes I requested a new room.

I was moved into a room on the ground floor that was a much lower level room than the room I originally paid for. The door to my room had to be slammed in place to shut fully, the bathtub didn’t drain when I showered and the putrid moldy smell was still present in this room minus the sewage. The walls were paper thin as I could literally hear every conversation going on in the hall, in the surrounding rooms and outside my entire stay. The heating system was incredibly loud at night and the other hotel customers made so much noise I could barely sleep.

This hotel cost nearly $300 a night when I stayed. When I checked out after my three night stay, there were charges on my receipt for food items that I did not order. When this was brought to the hotel staff’s attention, they were suspicious and gave me attitude.

I will absolutely never return to this hotel and I hope this is a good warning to others that are thinking about staying here!

This place is a dump. Save your money and your sanity and stay at a trusted chain.

• Breakfast, per day per person is $15 which includes muffins, toast, cereal, yogurt and fruit. No warm food whatsoever. Seems like for $15 extra per person we could have stayed at a Hampton inn and got a warm breakfast for free. No other food within walking distance except an iHop. We didn’t feel safe leaving the property on foot, especially after dark and only one person in our group had a rental vehicle.
• It was 50* last night, the heat in my room did not work
• Several of our rooms have outward facing sliding glass doors that don’t lock
• There are 2 full size beds in each room – I had no idea hotels still did this but I at least would like a queen, if not King Bed.
• The lights in several rooms do not work, and the shower (separate room from the bathroom) doesn’t have a light at all so it feels like you’re showering in a closet. Some of our showers were also not draining properly.
• Parking is $24 a day. For what...? there are no other attractions here. Its not like we can walk to Disney, the convention center or the beach. We then have to pay to park at all these places too.

They nickel and dime you to pay for their on going renovations to try to keep the hotel relevant enough that people will stay. This place is a joke.

Can't recommend this place to anyone.

Customer service was great during the check in process. The room itself is quite a mess. The shower only half works so the water out of the faucet makes the tub fill up in the middle of your shower. There's no refrigerator in the room, the bathroom light keep going in and out, the TV channels come and go, there's no plugs anywhere by the bed. Not even a nightlamp that doubles as an outlet or anything.

This place needs a facelift....bad.

I hated it! Never stayed in a hotel worse than this! I had to almost begged them to clean up my room on a daily basis. I had an issues with deposits and the lady within the front desk told me she had no clue what the deposit was for then she told me to do a check out if i want :) how rude! I didn’t plan to book it anyway but i had to or else i wouldn’t book a room with all the bad reviews
And just to be fair enough, the manager was very nice and helpful in explaining and answering all my concerns

I’m staying here for the first time. I booked online because the photos looks good. The rooms are fine. I did not like the check in process. Extremely intrusive, asked for my Drivers license and kept it longer than necessary to verify my identity. Lots of typing. This place seems very unprofessional. I will not stay here ever again. No need to keep my drivers license and ask for other personal information. I do not recommend and I will not return here.
