Newport Beach Marriott Bayview

I have stayed here before and had a good experience so I am surprised the quality has dropped so steeply. I had asked for early check-in and they told me to come in at 1 PM and see if there is a room available. I came at 3:30 and they said there were no rooms available but they would call me when my room was ready.

Nobody called me and when I came at 4:30 they finally gave me the room. No apologies, no explanation and not very nice about it either.

I went to my room that night to go to sleep and I had an unexpected guest. There was a 3 inch cockroach walking on my bathroom floor. I killed it with the waste paper basket. I took a picture of it and went to the front desk and showed it to them and they just said that they were sorry. I asked if there was anything they do to lessen my disgust like free breakfast and they did not answer me.

I received a survey from the hotel manager asking me how my stay was. I explained my disappointment with the cockroach and I never heard a word back.

This hotel clearly does not care about it’s service or the satisfaction of it’s guests. Maybe they are so busy that they don’t have to be nice anymore. For $350 a night I expected more. If you have other options I would suggest you explore them.

Horrible management, I was providing security for a client who was an abused spouse and these people would not let up on harsssing her. As part of the program we encourage friends to come and communicate with her and give her confidence to get back to her normal self. Apparently the Marriott suddenly has a guest policy where anybody that comes and visit you, has to be a registered guest. Well, this is news to myself and my colleagues, and anybody else that has stated at any hotel in this nation its discrimination at its finest. There is a time and a place for suck policy but not when you’re paying $300 plus dollars a night. The hotel manager was rude and offered no solutions and the general manager was even worse . Big egos, and no common sense.
