We got a room on a first floor facing a parking lot when I requested a room higher and with a view. So that was disappointing and loud in the evening. Staff promised to move us but didn’t on top of that service is a bit slower than expected.

Amazing hotel, attention to detail was excellent. Self parking area got a little full at times and struggled to find a parking space with the many business and private functions that was taking place at the hotel. However, highly recommend to stay.

I was supposed to receive a credit and an upgrade through ******* for my stay here. Neither was honored by the resort and I had to pay significantly more to upgrade my room. Staff was pretentious and unhelpful. Property is outdated with limited amenities. Not worth the money.

Expecting a little more
First time at Balboa Bay Resort. First impression was good; as resort appeared cleaned and well ornamented. However, customer service wasn’t too great for my experience. Front desk girls didn’t seem to welcoming and when reserving a table for dinner at their in-house restaurant, we had to wait an additional hour to be seated. This was due to mild weather conditions which we understand were unexpected. But communication would have been great as we could have reserve a table at another restaurant. During dinner, the restaurant had a large event which ended up with some people getting out of hand. It wasn’t what me & the family were expecting. Rooms were great with no issues there; except for the occasional smoker downstairs that allowed cigarette smoke to travel inside our room. Overall, had a good weekend as I don’t let the minor issue ruin my weekend but wouldn’t put this resort in our top three.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated so well. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. We had such a great trip two months ago, we decided to make another trip. Actually visited the spa. Our massages were amazing. I highly recommend staying here.

I recently stayed at Balboa Bay Resort and had an amazing time. The staff provided exceptional service throughout my stay. Melissa R., who works at the cafe near the restaurant, stood out with her warm and friendly customer service. She went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was outstanding. Melissa's extensive menu knowledge, attention to detail, and genuine care for guests made for an unforgettable visit. The cafe had a cozy ambiance, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend Balboa Bay Resort for a luxurious getaway with exceptional service. Can't wait to return!

I recently took a girlfriends trip and stayed at the Balboa Bay Hotel. Every facet of our visit was exceptional, from the welcoming valets and front desk staff to our lovely room. The property is not large—and the staff to guest ratio is quite high, creating a true feeling of being on vacation. The concierge desk, restaurant staff, housekeeping and bell service were similarly attentive.

I must acknowledge in particular the superior service of concierge Nicole Hickey. We needed assistance having some packages shipped to the resort; Nicole not only facilitated the unexpectedly complex situation but also enlisted the services of several additional departments to accomplish this mission. She is helpful, friendly and courteous.

I recommend this resort most highly. We shall return!
