Arthouse Hotel

The room is very small. The internal facilities are outdated. The exterior wall decoration affects the appearance. Low cost performance

Fantastic Hotel, staff are all really friendly and the rooms are kept clean the beds are really comfortable. The location is perfect away from the hustle but easy to walk to Time square central park and the subway station is less than a five minuite walk there are a good selection of restaurants and bars around that are reasonably priced. Our only downfall was the deposit they take and they don't let ypu charge drinks to your room we are still waiting for this to be returned. But once we have this back we will be 100% this should not take 2 weeks

Staying at Arthouse meant a great location, with subpar service/cleanliness.
Pros:

Cons (general then if you want the long tale feel free to read my adventure!):
- Spotty wifi, slowest elevators ever, unclean rooms, no heat in bathrooms, front desk couldn't help with a simple request for forks to eat our leftovers with.
- wifi stopped working, when I called down to ask about it they put me through to an automated support line (not how I'd like to spend any time on a quick weekend getaway to the city). Eventually they gave out the manager's wifi log in info as a temporary fix.
- Room's outlet by the bed only worked on one half, the half that the lights were plugged into. When I went to check it out I found tons of hair, dust, dirt behind the bedside table that was pretty off putting.
- Shower head was funky and would only aim directly at the door of the shower. That was my final straw so I took the (slowest elevator in the world) down to address my concerns with the front desk.
- Management offered to upgrade our room to the 14th floor, so after having settled in (again this was a weekend long trip so time was v. precious) we took 5 trips to get our stuff moved to the new room.
- The new room was smaller than our previous one but had a gorgeous view and was above the din of the construction that was happening on the side of the building.
- When I went to put my things in the shower there was long black hair all along the wall.
- When I went to plug my phone in there was hair all over the floor.
- The bathroom air coming in was cold so after a hot shower it was not pleasant to step into a cold space. Heat overall seemed to either be v. hot or not at all.
- Elevators were extremely slow and stairwells did not have a clear path down to the lobby-they ended abruptly at the second floor without clear guidance on where to go to get to the lobby, glad there wasn't an emergency!
- Basically, for $280/night there are some good options in Manhattan and I wouldn't be returning to Art House if I'm looking for a clean, no fuss experience.

This hotel is in a great location and I found it convenient when travelling around the city. I’m not sure if I’d stay again though as the staff seem apathetic to the needs of the customer and did very little to ensure we felt welcomed. Also, a sign at the desk that advises guests that due to construction works the guests are requested to keep their curtains drawn between 8am and 5pm daily. Sucks if you paid for the view upgrade but with the scaffolding covering the entire building, not sure what you’d see anyway. Had a few issues that were resolved quickly but overall the attitude of staff (namely reception staff) was what put a damper on the experience.

The room floor is not that clean at all. Services is slow. I requested extra blanket 4 times (6hrs) until it was ultimately delivered. There is daily service charge not included in trip booking, which Extra hidden fee.

Few staff on luggage storage. No staff at the door to help on luggage at all.

Won’t recommend this hotel to any one.
