We were only at the hotel one night. Our room was very nice with a kitchen. We were on the 27th floor, we enjoyed going up to the rooftop and the beautiful view of the city!! The room was clean and bed comfortable. Our only complaint was the AC. It was very noisy and made it hard to sleep Sasha at the front desk was wonderful!!
We stayed at the hotel for 4 days, and absolutely loved it. We were able to check in early around 12 PM. The front desk receptionist is very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, with an amazing view of the Empire State Building.
A fantastic hotel, situated in a great location for exploring New York. Stayed here for 7 days with breakfast included. Room was quite spacious, clean and comfortable. The view from our window was great – we were on the 17th floor. Didn’t have any issues with the elevator wait times, breakfast was ok, not a great selection but enough choice to give you a start to your day, the coffee was great and...
We stayed for 2 weeks. The room was amazing on the 24th floor with WOW views over New York. The breakfast was good but after 14 days of eating more or less the same things it became redundant. Overall the food was good: eggs, bacon, french toast from time to time, fruits etc. The location is an less crowded area (New York standard of crowded) at around 25 min walk from Central Park, but with 2 close...

The team and management was amazing! I had an issue with the flight which was postponed more than 30 hours! I contacted the hotel and they agreed to charge me for the lost first night because of the delay. Again THANK YOU! The hotel is great in one of the best locations.
Very nice hotel. The room was a little small, but the staff of the hotel was absolutely wonderful. We only used the room for some sleep and getting ready which met all of our needs. You are only a small walk from Times Square too. Would recommend this hotel.
We just stayed at the Best Western in NYC. We had a nice stay at this hotel. Jackie and Rachel employees at the reception were very attentive to our needs. We appreciated their professionalism. The hotel was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast very good. I highly recommend this hotel.
This hotel was great! It was close enough to Times Square, the Library, and the Empire State Building that I could get to any of them quickly and easily, but far enough away to be kind of quiet. The room was dead silent the whole time, even though they provided complimentary ear plugs anyways that I did not end up using. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The staff was very helpful and personable...
This hotel is nicely situated in the mid-town area, very near the subway, and on a convenient line. The staff are exceptional, having taken care of our every need during the week we stayed. They sought to make our stay as comfortable as possible - even when the a/c broke, they moved us to the room next door, and followed up to ensure we were well, that the new room was woking and that we were happy...
Very nice hotel with easy access to both Midtown/Times Square and Downtown. Rooms have a nice view of either the Empire State Building or Bank of America Tower. The room was a decent size for a Manhattan hotel. The bed is a bit close to the window, but otherwise there's a good amount of space for bags and the bathroom is a good size. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I'm planning to make this...

This hotel was a HUGE disappointment. The staff is rude, not really willing to help the clients and the rooms are far from good. Unfortunately is a perfectly-located place with a terrible service.
Great for the price! Check in was abysmally slow, but other than that service was good. Beds were comfortable but a bit squeaky. Bathroom was very basic and the tub had no drain stopper and was peeling. But it served my purpose well. All I wanted was an inexpensive and clean place to sleep and I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel.

Courtyard Jersey City Newport offers a fantastic location, just steps from the PATH station for easy access to Manhattan. The rooms are clean and comfortable, perfect for business or leisure travelers. The staff is friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant stay. While some guests mention minor issues with room temperature control and a lack of included breakfast, the hotel's convenient location...
We made a quick trip to NYC and stayed here. It’s right next door to a PATH station that was accessible for my son who is in a wheelchair. A quick walk around the corner was a beautiful view of Manhattan, along with a Roast’d coffee shop (fantastic!) and a Walgreens. Staff were friendly, and rooms were clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.
The staff is great. Very friendly. My room smelled very bad. I informed the GM and he had my room sprayed. Still smelled... One of the 2 elevators were out of service causing longer wait time. The location is great as well right on train line and center of city. I don't think I would stay again due to high price and problems.
Consider what you need from a hotel in Jersey City. If you’re looking for the Ritz, look elsewhere. The rooms are a bit dated, but if you’re looking for reasonably priced and clean rooms, convenient parking, and easy access to the PATH, then this is a great option. Front staff seemed nice and once again. Although very close to train station, could not hear train at all, likely since train is underground
Very close to Newport Path Station, direct to Manhattan Spacious room Jacuzzi and Pool felt very nice in December !
We just spent 4 nights here and overall great stay. The hotel is on a nice road with some good local restaurants nearby. The path station is right next door. Hotel was quiet, beds comfy, AC worked, room was spotless and clean and maid service was good. The style of hotel is typical of this star of hotel. The lounge area was lovely and had a great relaxing feel with a fire. Staff were always nice and...

Pro- good bars & restaurants close by, close to the union r and Atlantic terminal, C. O. Bigelow soaps. Cons- room is ridiculously tiny, shower is a half sized afterthought, can’t say I’ll be back.
This Spot is real New Yorker certified. I say this because the service is what we supposed to get. You got the money...cover that hotel fee (drop a deposit / Insurance) and people mind their business. You get Coffe, Tea, Ice, access to microwave and tap in a downstairs cafeteria with sitting access and a backyard to boot. It's chill, clean, modern decor style, free cable w/flatscreen and has nearby...
Staff were great, but for a place that advertises a noise proof experience, it was sorely lacking. Never been in a smaller shower in my life and the hot water seemed to be it both nights (fine in the morning) which was less than ideal Pretty good location in Brooklyn.
The hotel was small and the room smaller, but for a quick getaway, it served the purpose. Clean room, nice staff. Not a bad place overall.
Clean but very cosy rooms as advertised, walls are thin and it is noisy especially if you are on the 1st floor. If you are just looking to sleep or to overnight it is good value for money.
Rooms are on the small side but comfy beds, bathrooms are modern and simple. I travel to Brooklyn for business often and always stay at the union the people are amazing, close to bars and restaurants

The staff was very helpful. When we missed our flight, and were in stress, the staff was so kind and tried to help us where she could!! She made our day by helping us with a room for one more night. Also, they ordered everything in the small room in a smart way so there was still everything you need.
It was really cute! Very convenient for me. The bathroom was clean. They had a dark rag I could use cause I had make up. And they had coffee and tea set out. the bed was comfy. There was a desk. It was small but everything you imagine in a hotel room you need was there. Including full length mirror. I very much enjoyed my night. I had trouble with the door and was doing late check in but someone was...
My room was #13 which was the very first room on the right, between the front door and reception desk. I wouldn't recommend this room if you are a light sleeper because you can hear everything around the room (front access buzz, footsteps, full conversations, and even people knock on the window that couldn't get in the hotel). The room itself wasn't terrible but the water was lukewarm and the couch...
As a frequent flyer guest of this hotel ive come to expect great things from my stay. This time fell below the mark sadly. The shower water was lukewarm at best, so no hot showers. I was willing to sort of deal with that but then on Monday, the wifi and Cable went out btwn 2&3pm. Not the hotels fault but there was Zero communication to us guests about what's going on and how long we would be out. Service...
Great price and team is super friendly. They kept our luggage after the room rental was over. Only point of concern, don’t arrive too late (after 10pm I would say) if you need to walk… this is not a very secured district of Harlem… Better to arrive directly by taxi.
I was totally surprised about this place. It was quiet, clean and the rooms were a nice size. The staff was nice as well.My husband and I will definitely stay again. The only problem I had was walking up all the stairs. We were on the 3rd floor both times we stayed. A great place to stay! Nice accommodations, free breakfast and the staff are very helpful. Reasonable rates and the Hotel is in my own neighborhood! Plus it is within walking distance of a lot of stores for shopping and eating. An added bonus is it is near several bus stops and the subway.
Pleasantly surprized. The room though was small but spotless, current and well maintained. The queen sized bed was perfect. Breafast was nothing special, but plentiful, fresh and lots of choices. I'll be back.
So I am from another state and called to make a reservation, and explained my situation ,and I had a service dog. They were very friendly on the phone the man that took my call, and the girl at the desk was very nice. The hotel is good price and very beautiful inside. Do wish they had a pool. But good other than that. We enjoyed it
This is a great value hotel for Brooklyn. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, comfy beds and nice size rooms and bathrooms for nyc. Bring some earplugs tho; the walls and doors are thin.
Perfect place to stay when visiting Brooklyn and convenient for travel into Manhattan via subway. Very clean and updated and the staff goes out of their way to make it a wonderful experience! Can't wait to come back.

The room was not opulent but very acceptable. The real "stand out" is their friendly and courteous staff. They were great!
I was staying in Aloft hotels in lots of cities, this one the most expensive. Overall my stay was pretty good, the room was clean, bed was comfortable. The only thing I did not like, is coffee machine was broken , as soon as I poured water in there, it started leaking. I was checking out at this time, so didn’t call the reception. Great location in Brooklyn, friendly helpful staff, and a cool atmosphere. The room was wonderful, not too small, and had everything we needed for our stay.
Great price for the location. Downtown Brooklyn near several train stations make getting around the city a breeze. Rooms are super small - like a matchbox, but again, location makes it all worth it. Hotel appears to be a "party" hotel so you will hear people and there is a lot of foot traffic. Someone was knocking at my door in the wee hours of the morning and on check out the smell of ganja bid me...
We arrived after a long time spent in the back of a taxi and instantly made to feel welcome by the staff at reception. The roof top restaurant is well set out and heated so you can eat in comfy warm surroundings no matter what the weather is like. The room has a huge comfy bed and all the room facilities are kept in great condition. The complementary coffee/tea is perfect to have while you get ready...
The surroundings are fairly quiet, despite nearby construction. The bed is quite comfortable. The blinds block out a very large amount of light, which is good. The staff, both cleaning and lobby, are friendly. The price was reasonable. Some potential improvements: would like actual drawers for clothing. Shower water pressure leaves something to be desired. We enjoyed our stay here. The room was not large, but we didn't need large...we came to see New York! The concierge was a wonderful bonus and helped us with a wonderful Korean place to eat and things to do. The bell man stored our bags because we arrived before our check in time and we wanted to get busy sightseeing. Try the hot chocolate at the hotel. You won't regret it.
Reaaly enjoy this place. Very welcome staff and great rooms, price is perfect. Also, there is a bar in the hotel on roof with view on Empire State Building. It is not a fashionable bar, but very cozy with friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel! You honestly can't get a better location for a first time trip to Manhattan. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The room was nice. The rooftop bar was sort of cool, and has a great view of the Empire State building. The large Herald Square subway station is right outside the door. Super convenient location in the small Korean district, directly behind Empire State building (same block). Subway access half block away. Manhattan mall 1 block away. This is a great hotel for short stays in the city. I like the feel of it, it doesn't feel too contrived as a lot of modern style hotels do. The rooms are very small but they're nice, and in New York City you probably shouldn't be spending a ton of time in your room anyway so the size isn't really an issue. Located well with good access to the 6 as the station is very close by.
Oops, I stayed at Pod-39 Times Square, not this Pod. However, I'm sure they are very similar and Pod Times Square is awesome! Following are my comments concerning Pod 39 Times Square. Great, very clean, budget hotel and 5-minute walk to Times Square! Staff was very friendly--just awesome! Very small clean room, so if all you really want is a modern/clean place to sleep in an awesome location at a very...
Pretty good bang for your buck, considering the location. I think it was around $100/night during January? The pod is modern and sleek, intended the maximize the tiny space. With us spending most of the day out exploring, all I need is a hot shower and a bed to crash on. Be aware that the shower is a clear glass box, with a wide strip of frosted glass where your body would be.
I selected this hotel as a way to save money on a recent trip to NYC. I was very excited about booking a bunk room for me and my stepdaughter. When we arrived, I was told that there weren't anymore bunk rooms available. The front desk agent handled the situation with good customer service. This is a great budget hotel, located in the heart of Manhattan. Just a few steps away from Grand Central Terminal, you can easily get to any part of the city you wish to explore in a matter of minutes using the city's extensive subway network. Great location can walk to Bryant Park and plenty of great restaurants, Broadway as well as shops along 5th Ave and south Central Park. Excellent helpful front desk service round the clock. Room a little tight but very comfortable bed, clean facilities too.
For an affordable, mid-town/B'way location, Wingate can't be beat. Rooms are very clean and well-maintained, staff are super friendly. Rooms are on the smaller side and not fancy, but they have everything you need for a comfortable and safe stay (including small fridge and microwave).
I am a college student from North Dakota, traveling to NYC on my own was a bit nerve-wracking. Great service, safe area, and clean room! This is a great hotel to stay at in NYC. What a great clean and safe place to stay. Would recommend for anyone who want to be close to the action but on a quite street. Room was great and had a wonderful rain shower. Would stay again.
The Hotel has friendly staff and a great location for being right in the midtown section of the city. Its quick and easy to access. For our various visit in NYC and within 25 km to the west in NJ the apartments and parking availability makes Candlewood a great place. We have stayed here 5 times over 3 years and will come again. We recommend the top floor east apartment facing Hudson river.
I stay here when in NY for work. The rooms are always clean and have their own kitchen area which I like. It’s easy to get to from Manhattan by Path or ferry at Paulus Hook. It’s definitely pretty basic accommodation and you can tell as soon as you enter the reception area, nothing fancy here if people are used to higher end hotels.
A nice hotel to stay if you are looking to cook your food as it has a nice kitchen. It is located at the perfect spot in the city which gets you closer to train, mall and waterfront. You have all the amenities you would wish for including parking if you stay at Candlewood Suites and lots of complimentary stuff. For a professional, you get to print and scan your documents. The room was quite small, and the bathroom had no fan... But other than that, it was fine. It's not like I was planning on spending all of my New York vacation time in the room anyways. I'm a native New Yorker and I love to visit the bars at this hotel. They each have a different feel. My favorite is the Library bar with fire place and leather couches. Cocktails are pricey, but delicious. You' re paying for the atmosphere. In the warm months there's an outdoor space and a bar/grill to provide for beverage and culinary needs. Check it out.
Great location for the price. Close to Central Park, Broadway theaters, and Hell's Kitchen restaurants and bars. Pseudo-trendy. Responsive, professional staff. Negatives: teeny tiny rooms and bathrooms, showers never seem to work well (and I've stayed here many times), lots of street noise and HVAC noise, and elevators can take forever at times. I don’t have one complaint. Everything was good, had a great stay. Clean room, helpful staff, great location. I recommend. Oh and I loved my view of the Empire State Building.
I have devised a hotel rating system using two basic measurements: bathroom and coffee. The results really do correlate to the overall hotel quality. For bathroom the towels size, softness and brightness and shower head strength and toiletry quality are all measured on a 1-5 scale, for coffee if a keurig is in the room it's worth 3 if not, 1. If real creamers 3, if not 1. Total possible point is 2...

The location was fantastic, being just a few minutes walk from Wall Street and easy access to the subway. The outside was still under construction, but we had no issues with noise. The free breakfast is nothing...
When I stayed here, the Inn/the area around the Inn was undergoing construction. So, I can't comment too much about the exterior. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the interior of the lobby and the rooms as well. The lobby was historical without being outdated, and very well furnished and hushed. Also, the location of the Inn makes it ideal for many sightseeing purposes. The rooms themselves were...
Great location. Cleaning service was excellent. I even forgot my headphones in my hotel room and the staff was kind enough to ship them out to me. I would recommend this hotel.
Somewhat hard to get and no parking close to hotel. Limited dining options. Toast, cereal and coffee.

In short, you get what you pay for. I had reasonably low expectations but was presently surprised by how clean the bathrooms were at all times and how safe I felt throughout my stay. The mattress was thin, the bedding was cheap and nasty, the floors in my room were stained and the tv didn’t work. In saying that, all I needed was a place to sleep and it did the job!
Awesome stay! You get what you pay for. Staff was super nice, I arrived super early to store my luggage and they aloud me to check in early. It's NYC, so I was barely in room, just to sleep, and shower (which they are always cleaning it seemed like). Location is awesome, central park is literally steps away, subway station a few blocks, a Starbucks at end of block. Recommend if you want to save...
An ideal haven for the solo traveler mindful of their budget. While some reviews might describe the rooms as simplistic and lacking in flair, let's consider the essence of a New York City visit. It's not about the room, but the city's vibrant pulse waiting to be explored. It offers just what you need—a comfortable place to rest and refresh after each day's adventures. Conveniently located near Central...
Good location, very close to Central Park. Worth your while for low budget trips to New York. Their gym is surprisingly good, which is free to use if you stay there. The rooms smelled like chlorine once we got there, so the cleaning crew did their job well, but the smell was not great at all. Overall a good stay on a great location for a reasonable price.
I have stayed here several times over the past 10 years, but his may have been my last time. My daughter and I stay here because it is cheap and it is safe, plus in a great location for subways and buses. But his time it was noisy and not clean. I don't expect 5 star quality and I don't expect the bathrooms to be cleaned after each use, but I do think things that are broken should be fixed and there...
Check-in was smooth and the receptionist was really kind. Our double bunk room looked pretty scary upon entry, but was actually surprisingly comfortable and quiet. Nice working AC and clean showers with towels provided. Access to the gym/pool was also included ($10 mandatory fee). Great location right next to Central Park and within walking distance to just about everything. Would stay again!
very dirty rooms, cold and wind blows from window, linen and towels they don't change, it was disgusting
The television does not work; they don't make the beds; the air conditioning does not work; the bathrooms are not clean The towels are not clean the service is bad. All the staff is super rude.
Lincoln Center across the street. Breads Bakery around the corner. The subway just a few blocks away.
Everything was great about this place especially the customer service, everybody was friendly and well mannered. will definitely be coming back here again
