The Marmara Park Avenue Hotel

We have been travelling to Marmara constantly for more that 10 years now. The hotel needs a remodelation, everything is quite old and used.
The service of housecleaning is terrible - they just came into our room while we were sleeping without knocking; that happened twice eventhough we insisted on privacy
The personal in the bar and reception did treat us nicely

The hotel was fine
Just very disappointed-the pool not warm
And not the Turkish Hamam
No parking available only up to 7.30 pm
I had to pay 200$ for parking outside

Who in the world told google that this is a 5-star hotel?!! A Hampton Inn is closer to 5 star than this place… Service is absolutely terrible, the rooms are beyond dated. Oh, and to top it off- their “fresh squeezed orange juice” is not fresh squeezed. Seems like The Marmara likes to call things something they’re not. Super super disappointed. We went from a true 5-star hotel after 3 nights, to this place because we wanted to try out another NYC 5-star hotel, but this place is worse than some 2-star hotels. I’ve had much better experiences at Hampton Inns…

When I booked, I was under the impression I was booking a 5 star hotel( as advertised) upon arrival, I couldn’t be more disgusted!! Nothing but dark black hallways and every inch of the hotel just dark, depressing and dismal!!! I get to my “ Deluxe Queen” room, to find a full size bed, an empty minibar/ refrigerator!! A remote for tv that doesn’t work and never was able to connect to Bluetooth or WiFi!!! Requests on ipad( how they supposedly accommodate any room service) go unanswered, and your calling front desk anyway. When booked my room I made reservations for my daughter and I at the wellness center for the following morning for 2 Sports massages… after many attempts of trying to confirm in the upcoming week before arriving, I finally get in touch with someone. The lady didn’t speak/ understand English and after 10 minutes of back and forth I find myself on the phone with a man named Javier( the lifeguard) as he stated, because she handed the phone off… they had no reservation no clue what I was talking about and when asked if I would still like to book the massage… was quoted almost double the price!!! The pictures on their website are 100% misleading and my daughter and I basically stayed away as much as possible other than to sleep… never even bothered to look st the pool area or any other” amenities “ they so called stated… it was so uncomfortable just being in the hallways , walking to elevators. As u felt like u we’re in a dungeon!!! Waste of lots of money… and will never recommend… AND NOW IM CALLING TO FIND OUT WHY MY $150 ( whatever deposit) which was sprung on me at check in… and told that it is fully returned after check out….is pending in my account .. BUT FOR ONLY $120??? And what fo u know… nobody is answering the phone. 🤯Because they probably have remembered my number by now, and nobody wants to deal with or answer any questions… WHERE IS MY OTHER $30???????????????????
