Great atmosphere . The staff is absolutely superb and accommodating. The restaurant is 5 stars and we dined there every day although there are many nice restaurants in the area. New York can be overwhelming but Walker Hotel makes you comfortable even if you're new to the city.

We had to cancel our reservation after staying one night.

The air conditioning in our very small room was not working although uncooled air was circulating with a great deal of noise.

We recorded (on cell phone photos) the temperatures that night of 80 and 81 degrees, intolerable and unacceptable for a hotel advertising air conditioning.

As a traveler in my eighties I would never have booked a room with temperatures that high, as this is a risk to my health and well-being.

The staff at the hotel remained as professional as possible although they failed to inform us at check in that the hotel's A/C system was broken. It was only after we complained to the front desk on our first night that the staff admitted that the air conditioning system wasn't working.

We request a refund for the two nights during which we could not stay at the hotel and had to obtain lodging elsewhere.

I loved the ambiance of the property from the art deco interior and attention to detail, to the wonderful staff. The restaurant service and food were excellent. The staff at the desk were very helpful and made me feel at home. It made my stay extra special. I will definitely recommend and return to the The Walker Greenwich Village.

I have to say I am very disappointed in our stay
The hotel for the price is below average. But the unacceptable part is upon checkin we were notified that air conditioning was not available and we should open our windows in the room. It was 80 degrees outside. The other issue is the windows only open an inch.
So there was zero air
This should have been disclosed prior to or upon booking so we could have made other arrangements. This made our stay very uncomfortable and we did not sleep at all

I was told that we had a daily $25 credit to use in the bar/restaurant. We spent over $300 over the 3 days and only received $25 once. Maybe I misunderstood but it was misleading.

Style and decor were beautiful. Location and access to transportation were perfect for our plans. Would like better coffee service and mini-refrigerator in room to keep leftovers.

Should Be Better
I travel extensively, staying both at mid-range and high-end hotels. Having just spent a full week at the Walker Hotel Greenwich, we were very disappointed. For $500 per night, many things should have been better. It truly feels like a hotel operating without a hotel manager as the employees don't care about their jobs or the guests. I understand New York culture is more brusque than most of the US, but couldn't a single person make an effort during the week. The front desk was unpleasant checking in and out. Additionally, our room was so tiny (for $500) that there was no where to sit the luggage or store our clothes. The curtain rod was broken so it was difficult to open the window to get relief from the excessive heat. One morning the cleaning staff had a loud 10-minute party right outside our door while we tried to sleep. On my last visit to NYC, I stayed at a Four Points Sheraton for half the price and it was a much better experience. (P.S. The Society Cafe on-site is great.)

Love, love, loved stay! I had the best time here. Easy access to the subway and good central location to get around NYC. The staff was no nice and friendly. Since I was traveling solo for work it was nice to have some friendly staff to chat with. Amazing food at the restaurant, great cocktails at the speakeasy and great cafe/coffee options in the lobby. Not to mention a gorgeous rooftop. Rooms are a bit small, but nothing out of the ordinary for NYC. They bed was super comfortable. I'll be back!

I stayed here 9/21-9/24 in room 1306. I left feeling disappointed after having very high expectations. Upon checking into the room it felt humid and the bedding had a weird damp feeling to it. I didn’t have problems with AC as the room did get cold but beware the AC unit is loud if that bothers you. Street noise gets drowned out by AC so that could be a plus. I think the damp bedding has something to do with the AC plus poor ventilation. Room wise, they are small but for 1 person it wasn’t a huge problem for me. Room could use some updating, the wall paper is peeling in large areas, carpet could be replaced and curtains are a little dingy. The bathroom was nice I loved the CO Bigelow products in there. Bathroom and shower were both clean. The shower pressure is definitely strong so beware when you turn it on but water gets super hot which I appreciate. The hallways are in need of some update as they are dark and old feeling (not the cute vintage way) and gives the feeling of old motel versus 4 star hotel. The lobby is very nice and you can tell that it has been updated unlike some of the rooms. The minimal interactions with staff were pleasant and helpful. The location is everything, you could walk to a million cafes, restaurants, shops and more. So if that’s important I’d stay here if there was a good deal but paying $550-650 a night for such an uncomfortable damp bed makes me question that decision. If you want to stay in the Greenwich village area I’d try the Marlton Hotel, stayed there and never been disappointed. I would not come back here unless some updates are done to rooms. I’d be curious about their Tribeca location as it seems to be more updated.

We stayed here from 9/4 to 9/7. From the moment we arrived the front desk personnel received us with a smile and had all of our information right away. The staff is definitely one of the highlights. They are always helpful and never said no to any of our requests. Very helpful and always available. There are several comments an reviews around here about the quality of the rooms and the AC. Well, that wasn't our case. Our room was excellent. Clean and with an amazing view. The AC worked great, we didn't have any issues with how hot it was outside. I will 100% return to this hotel if I have come to this area of town again.
