Gotta say the service here was next level. They are soooo nice. The parking, the lobby, the pool, the bar, the room staff… felt like royalty. A little pricey but will definitely return given the results.

We really enjoyed our trip at the hotel. The location is so convenient to the shopping mall and minutes to the neighboring beach and trail. Facilities are well maintained, and the staff are very welcoming. My family had a good time there.

The newly renovated hotel was perfect for a weekend getaway. The hotel offers all the amenities from bike rentals, to yoga classes and a free shuttle. Absolutely loved the space and the non-carpeted flooring!! The smell of the hotel was amazing, and the design was beautiful too. Bathroom shower wasn’t totally scrubbed clean(just like that orange mildew) but still gave it 5 stars for the price and the everything else. Such an amazing stay at Renaissance Newport Beach. This hotel has such an amazing vibe. The entire place is so nice and clean, the decor was very hip and modern. Did not stay at hotel but attended for meeting. Had breakfast, it was good but expensive. Breakfast should have included a kids menu. The hotel looks at little aged. I believe the there was construction going on. I feel parking should have been free. Only valet parking available. Decided to stay else where, glad I decided on that. Such a great end to our two week USA trip. The kids loved the pool and waterslide. Our room was great. We played golf, hired a fire pit one night for s’mores and relaxed by the pool during the day.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a work conference. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. The room barely cooled down despite having a mini split and my balcony had a super weird smell when I stepped out onto it. This was a pretty good place to stay. Room by the main pool very simple, no balcony. The noise from the pool’s water slide pump was right outside our door and it was so noisy all day. The restaurant had good food with quality service. Construction happening at the front entrance makes navigating the main floor a bit difficult. The pool area is nice and kept clean.

The location of this hotel is convenient being right across from John Wayne Airport. The downside of this is that if you are placed in a room facing the airport you will have the constant noise of jet engines. Rooms opposite the airport didn't have this issue. Attend events here regularly. The catering staff could do better when serving, as many times they miss bringing plates of food until others at the table are nearly finished eating. Better to have several servers attend to one table until done then proceed to another. Seems very chaotic at best usually. Refilling of water glasses would also be a nice gesture.

Our room was really nice, but one whole section of the hotel was closed for construction. Very nice area around the hotel. Jets are a bit loud flying out of the airport across the street!

Really enjoyed our stay! Comfortable linens and pillows, clean, and friendly staff. Being 6 months pregnant I was a little extra needy and the staff didn't make me feel bad for asking for extra accommodations. The parking area was a little crowded but I think that had to do with some recent construction.

We stayed 4 nights for a quick visit with friends. The staff was very friendly. Room was nice and clean. We didn't have our kids with us but noticed they had a movie night by the pool which was a nice bonus for families with kids. I would recommend.

Marriott always provides a great experience. The staff was super friendly, the rooms were clean, and it was a fantastic location with a wonderful nature trail to walk. The hallways had a musty smell, and I would recommend it's time to rip out that carpet. The pool area was small, and they had a movie night for the kids.

The rooms here were perfect for our family of 4 with 2 college-aged kids. The people were superb! Everyone we encountered was so friendly. They have beautiful grounds. The restaurant and bar are a little overpriced. Paid $25. For 2 beers. But overall, it was a great experience.

This hotel is now closed and has been sold to Pendry Hotels and Resorts group. (The sister company of Montage Resorts.) The hotel will be fully remodeled and expected to reopen in a year under the new name Pendry.

A fantastic hotel. All the staff were perfect. All our needs were met. We opted out of the room service, received $15 credit per day and drank coffee in the room till we were sweating beans. They provided all the towels . water and other complimentary amenities at non cost per day.

We enjoyed the hotels location. It was great to be walking distance to Fashion Island. Our room had a nice view of the ocean and the private golf course. Although you can't walk to the beach it's very easy to drive there and enjoy the surf and the sand. The pool was crowded but felt homey with a family friendly environment. Definitely the place to stay in Orange County. We were traveling with kids and their grandpa so a bungalow worked out perfect! The views are spectacular and the round pool is epic! A beautiful Hotel overlooking Newport Beach in Amazing Grounds with individual private bungalow accommodation

Gorgeous historic hotel at the Balboa Pier,, right on the oceanfront in Balboa, California. The staff is wonderfully accommodating. So many fun things to do, so many amazing places to eat nearby, can't go wrong staying here!

Room was only ok but I chose an inexpensive no frills room. Service was great. Location should be 6 stars. Pier and bike path runs right in front of the hotel and plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance. Loved it.

Great hotel at a great location. Excellent service. I purchased the deluxe room but it did not come with a fireplace or balcony. So if you really want to upgrade, go bigger.

The location was great, ocean view from the 3rd floor balcony! We had our dog & the staff was really nice too. It is the beach after all, but the last night when we got back from dinner there was a BIG roach on the bathroom sink! They came right away & sprayed but we slept with all the lights on!

You cannot beat the location. Beautiful beach and wonderful local restaurants. The hotel could use some updating but I'll stay there again soon.

Great spot right on the beach with a pier right in front of it. Amazing historic architecture (not the easiest of you have disabilities or mobility issues). Perfect to be near the party scene.
