Perched on a coastal bluff high above the Pacific Ocean - Montage Laguna Beach offers 30 acres of seaside resort luxury in the heart of Southern Californias pre-eminent artist colony. The resorts common area facilities as well as all accommodations offer stunning bluff-top views of the ocean. The resorts prime location provides direct access to a beautiful stretch of beach and offers secluded privacy and tranquility. The downtown area of Laguna Beach is only two miles from the resort.
Montage Laguna Beach facilities include a 20000 square foot full service spa with 21 indoor/outdoor treatment rooms - a beauty salon plus an oceanfront adults-only spa pool. The dazzling centerpiece of the resort is the Mosaic Pool with ocean views and private cabanas. The resort offers 18 flexible indoor and outdoor meeting spaces. Also available is a business center - a fitness center - an outdoor Jacuzzi - a year-round childrens program and accessible facilities.
Accommodations feature 186 guestrooms plus 60 suites and four villas. All accommodations offer views of the Pacific Ocean and most offer a private balcony or patio. Extra spacious rooms and suites start at 500 square feet/46 square meters and are equipped with marble bathrooms appointed with a deep soaking tub and a separate shower cabin. Bedding includes sumptuous feather-top beds with 400 thread count bed linens and 100 percent goose down pillows. Amenities include high-speed cabled and wireless Internet access - a widescreen LCD HDTV with complimentary and PPV movie channels - a DVD player on request - a well-stocked mini-bar - bottled water and a personal safe. All rooms are non-smoking.

A magical place on the California coast! The arrival experience was seamless and personable. Valet was friendly and attentive, and the reception team was proficient and thorough. I received a personalized room orientation, and the room itself was one of the most luxurious entry-level accommodations I’ve ever seen.
The view of the Pacific was stunning, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The bar area is elegant, and every team member was incredibly accommodating. This is the epitome of true hospitality — everyone says “yes” without redirecting or deflecting. There’s no “we don’t do that” mindset here. The service truly sets this experience apart, and when paired with such a luxurious setting, it’s no surprise they’ve earned accolades. I’m already looking forward to returning for leisure.

Rooms were so so. For this price point they should be better than that. Had to be moved after first room had insane noise from the mini bar and view wasn’t as paid for. Next room was better and comfy beds but nothing to write home about and Ritz down the road is a better room overall. Great location, nice pool area, beach access is easy, and very clean rooms/grounds. But I wouldn’t stay again.

When you walk into the resort, you see overwhelmed by the beautiful ocean views. High end resort with private beach access and swimming pool with ocean views. Walking path at back with steps or ADA walking path to the beach. The restaurant, the Loft was great. Everything was fresh and nicely done. The staff were friendly and courteous, polite. Request outside to soak in the ocean views. Great if you can stay at the resort or come for brunch at the restaurant.

This is a high end resort with friendly staff. The best part of this resort is the live pianists who play in the lobby bar in the afternoon and evening. Great entertainment and a great place to enjoy a cocktail with complimentary olives and nuts. The rooms are nice but not exceptional for that price tag. The shower is rather small, the tub is not stand alone and is narrow with faucets at end so two people can’t relax. Also the bathroom door is glass paneled so at night if someone uses the restroom it lights up whole room. I may be comparing it to a property down the street but these rooms were not right on the water and were overpriced. The food was very good at both restaurants The Loft and Mosaic. The chocolate birthday treats were good. The breakfast was good but service was very slow and had to wait for a table on a Thursday morning. On the plus side there is complimentary coffee in the lobby. Overall there were pros and cons at this resort. It was a great experience and I’m glad we tried it out, but will probably opt for another choice right down PCH next time.

Montage Laguna Beach has always been one of my favorite places to relax in Laguna. I love coming here just to sit in the lobby, enjoy the ocean view, and listen to the live pianist — Steve is incredible and truly adds to the experience.
The lobby is a great spot to grab a cocktail or dessert. I highly recommend the hazelnut dessert and the lava cake — both are delicious. On my last visit, though, I tried the panna cotta and wasn’t impressed. They also brought me the wrong tea (black instead of tropical), and since I’m caffeine-intolerant, that wasn’t a small mistake. Unfortunately, it wasn’t taken off the bill, and the service felt a bit off that day.
I’ve also had lunch and dinner at The Loft. Lunch was great, but dinner involved a bit of an unnecessary wait for a table — even though the restaurant was mostly empty.
Also, just a heads up: they’re currently doing construction near the pool area. The pool is closed for now, and it was noisy enough that we couldn’t sit on the terrace, which was disappointing. It looks like it may take another month or so to finish, so keep that in mind if you’re planning to visit soon.
All that said, Montage is still a beautiful spot with a peaceful atmosphere — just hoping things get back to their usual standard soon.

The location is good, but the big swimming pool was under renovation when I went there. If the hotel doesn't notify me about this, I think Ctrip should. After all, I am a top-level customer and I book more than 1 million RMB a year with you. I went there mainly to enjoy the swimming pool. I saw Ctrip's introduction because of the big swimming pool. The price of the room is 12,000 per day... The price-performance ratio is too average

Perfect holiday experience, except for the high price, there is nothing wrong with it. The 24-hour heated swimming pool, the nearby beach, and the small town with a strong tourist atmosphere make people relax on vacation, especially suitable for families.
