Reviews
I feel that these hotel brands in San Francisco are similar, all of which use historical buildings as a selling point, and the interior is slightly inferior to that in China
We encountered a continuous strike, and the gate was banging gongs and drums from morning to night, which scared the children;
We waited for about 20 minutes for Valet Park the next day.
If the local staff of Ctrip can update the dynamics in time or handle it in time, it can better reflect the service value!
But that aside, the rooms and building were very nice and clean, well kept. The large Christmas tree in the lounge was beautiful.
The only demerits I would give is for the elevator issue: the whole time we were there only one of the three worked. That should’ve been fixed sooner.
The other thing was they had “security” people standing at the doorways. Basically people wearing security uniforms. They mostly stood there looking bored and unhappy and not anything else. The hotel would’ve gotten more out of their money if they’d just pay doormen to open doors or at least greet the guests with a smile.
During our three-night stay, housekeeping services were limited, and fresh towels were delivered early evening. Dining options on-site were restricted to a single venue, and there was no room service. While the complimentary happy hour from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. was a thoughtful gesture, the serving team’s inexperience led to long wait times. The happy hour was hosted adjacent to the main entrance, and noise filtered through whenever someone entered the building. The constant noise detracted from the ambiance, which would have been lovely given the beautiful space.
This experience highlighted for us the importance of proactive communication with guests. Even though these issues had been going on for some time, management did not advise us, which felt like an oversight.
We'd be open to staying again once the hotel is fully operational. Its potential is evident, given its great location, beautiful old building, and reasonable-sized rooms.
