Front desk staff are extremely helpful and a valuable resource for travelers. The room we stayed in was nice, small but large enough for two people. The mattress was super firm, like a slab of rock. There's no A/C (not really needed), but there is a ceiling fan to circulate air. If you open the windows, you'll be cool enough. Be advised there is considerable noise from the street, sirens, traffic,...
Great staff, great location, surprisingly good rates! Pretty central to several alternative areas of SF. Just walk a block to grab the Hayes St bus to Haight-Ashbury, or walk around the corner to Smuggler's Cove (get there at opening). Only a few blocks from the Mission, the Castro or even Japantown. I'd ding a half star for what seemed like thin walls but our neighbors wete just very loud but chilled...
Great hotel! Close to transit, shopping and entertainment. Very friendly staff! Wonderful complimentary continental breakfast! Complimentary cookies in the afternoon with ice water available all day. Concierge on site is knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay!
My daughter and I came to San Francisco for her to attend an audition for The San Francisco ballet. The Inn at The Opera hotel is just steps away from the door to the ballet! The staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. Our room was clean and well stocked. Although the bed was a little hard for my taste, we had 3 decent nights sleep. I consider the decor vintage or antique. So it is quaint and cozy...
Well run quaint hotel with a Scandinavian restaurant on site. Great friendly staff, good food and a free continental breakfast each morning. Hitel is well kept up. But remember, like most quaint hotels in SF There is no air conditioning so visit them in winter when the rooms are tested.
Price aside it is a nice place to stay in the city. Rooms are comfy, clean and amenities are ample. Located right next to the civic center which is a good central location to be in SF when visiting for recreation or business. Also it is off a street that is usually fairly quiet which is nice.

This is a wonderful alternative to the standard, off-the-shelf cooky-cutter hotel. Lots of authentic charm surrounding its French heritage.
Cute hotel in a good location. There is quite a bit of street noise and our room was pretty cold. There are heaters in the room (and heaters were indicated online) but we were told they are not on. I don't know if they are on seasonally or they just don't use them. We were all cold in the room even during the warmest part of the day. The second time we talked to the front desk, we were informed that...
Super cute hotel on Nob Hill. Hand Painted art & walls. Quiet neighborhood and lovely hotel & rooms. We had a cozy Queen room, well equipped bathroom. Our heater was broken so it was a little chilly.
This little hotel is just perfect. Delightful hand painted art details all throughout the rooms, the elevator, the hallways, the doors. Delicious homemade croissants for breakfast, sparkling clean rooms, friendly service in a beautiful French accent. We’ll come back over and over again. I can’t believe how affordable it was for how sweet and thoughtful every aspect of our stay.
I made a quick trip to San Francisco to see some friends play live music. Franck was extremely helpful with all the information I could need, and the woman at the front desk was marvelous. Considering my stay was during Covid, I felt safe the entire time with everyone taking the necessary measures and precautions. It was a wonderful surprise to know the parking was part of my stay, breakfast was perfect...
The hotel looks like a historical place with some old rivival decorations. The receptionist is friendly and kind. They provide the express (15$) if you need to go to SFO. Everything is great except the room. My room has a heavy musty smell and it's warm like an oven that I need to open the windows before I sleep. I don't know whether other rooms are like this or not. However, due to that, it gives...

Location was great, staff were super friendly, included breakfast was really good. Room was spacious.
This hotel is in a perfect location on a relatively quiet side street only a few minutes walk from Union Square. The hotel itself was fine (was actually a bit better than I expected). The room was functional and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Room serviced every day. Hotels in San Francisco are very expensive, so although this hotel wasn't exactly cheap, as far as San Francisco hotels are concerned...
I stayed here for a business trip and really enjoyed it. The room was really cute. I appreciated the vintage feel and actually prefer that experience to a "fancy" hotel. The bed was comfy! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Wine hour was a GREAT addition and would be a reason I'd stay there again. It's close to many of the places you'll want to visit...China Town, Financial District, Nob Hill...
The hotel was okay. The room was nice and clean but smelled slightly like cigarette smoke. We went to hang towels on the towel rack and the rack came completely out of the wall. The linens and towels caused me to break out in hives all over my body. We asked for fresh towels and the woman at the front desk gave us attitude about it. They say they are pet friendly but have to pay $25/night for your...
I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at this hotel. The staff are always friendly and courteous. Because this hotel is historical and an old building, one might find the floor plan of the rooms small and awkward. But it's really charming and I appreciate all the beauty of the hotel. My room was clean and the housekeeping does a fantastic job of maintaining the environment clean and enjoyable...
Economy price belied by comfort. A converted motel with room facing into a central courtyard with semi tropical plants and a very pleasant swimming pool. Rooms are well (quite expensively) furnished with comfortable beds and good linens. Remarkably varied and high quality breakfast buffet included. Would merit a price at least 50% higher.

The place was really nice. It's a bit old fashioned style but I really liked that. There's a garage right across the street so the parking was really easy. We didn't get up early enough for the breakfast but the room was nice and had a really big shower. We had a really great stay.
Good location to union square, nicely appointed room. Fantastic taco place 2 doors down. Elevator is dodgy, 108 year old. Windows are single pane and you hear Every thing outside. Bar/restaurant on 2nd floor with loud music. Don't get room on 3rd floor if you need to go to bed early. Right on BART line.
Complimentary coffee (Starbucks nitro cold brew on tap) and quick breakfast bites like freshly baked croissants in the lobby
So much charm! Really enjoyed our stay from our quaint room to a great dinner. Nitro-cold brew coffee with complimentary breakfast was such a great plus. We'll be back! Hopefully soon ;)
Nice hotel in San Francisco. Rooms were rather small and the age showed, but it is located very conveniently and close to Union Square.

Good clean place that is pretty close to Fisherman's wharf. Not a lot of bells and whistles but would definitely recommend
Excellent value for the price. Perfect for a long weekend in SF that doesn’t break the bank. Super convenient to Cow Hollow and all of the food, as well as the tourist destinations. Highly recommend.
Great value for your money - convenient location if you need a car for your SF trip. The rooms are neat, clean. Ask for a quiet room opposite the main road. Wifi is a little sluggish, so don't count on streaming Netflix for entertainment, and their movie selection on the television is limited. So download your movie and bring a cable to hook up to the big screen!
Hotel is conveniently located right on Lombard Street. It is a short walk over to Chestnut Street where there are many delicious restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, and many other things to do. The room was very cute and clean with a very large TV. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room locked a microwave or mini fridge but that wasn't an issue on this visit. The bed was very comfortable and the...
Girlfriend and I stayed in the marina to visit college friends and do the tourist thing. This hotel is perfectly located walking distance to all the fun marina restaurants and bars. You can also catch the bus to the cable cars and ride those around to do the tourist thing (union square, china town, piers, etc) highly recommend! We were put in a bigger room than booked and it spacious, clean and comfortable
Older hotel that retains a lot of character. Kind and accommodating staff. Plus, they don't charge that 30-40$ a night 'resort fee' that seems to be standard at the other hotels in the city.
Nice room, but hidden fees and holds on your account money which is not notified to client until arrival.
My three friends and I shared a small queen room here because we were on a budget. We were going to a concert at Social Hall so the location was prime (only a 6 min walk). I booked on trip advisor for a deal and mistakenly booked the wrong day! I only realized once we got there but the man at the front desk was very helpful and accommodated us anyways with no extra charge! I will be forever grateful...
We spent our honeymoon here a few weeks ago and loved it! The staff was super friendly, the food was great and the hotel was unique. If you want a typical "hotel" don't stay here. It is a historic Victorian hotel and that's what you should expect. It's old. It's antique. It's historic. It's unique with antique canopy beds/furniture and clawfoot bathtubs. Floors and doors creak, expect it. We wanted...
Went here for a baby shower event. The event area was big to accommodate about 100 people. The food they provided was pretty good but nothing amazing. Very nice place to holds events.

Didn't like the day service lady's attitude about paper receipts and having to wait 3 business days for my deposit to go back into my account. Despite that; this is one of the better decent price places to stay in San Francisco. I would still recommend!
This hotel is always featured on the big name hotel booking sites and typically the rooms can get down to 50% of the original price Great for a cheap stay with moderate amenities but there are more exciting places in better locations in San Francisco. If you are local to the area and need a reasonably priced clean place to say then this is for you
Great clean rooms at an affordable price! Staff was incredibly kind and friendly. Also left my airpods after the stay and they held it for me at the location so I could pick it up. 10/10 would recommend.
Easy to access, right off freeway, and in a safe area. Arrived and my room wasn't clean yet, but they cleaned it well. Rooms weren't gross or smelly, and front desk was helpful. GOOD PARKING, in a gated lot with security guards. This is my 3rd time using this motel. Would use again.
We stayed a night here. Rooms were clean and tidy. There wasn't much walking distance but we were able to uber to most tourist places for $5-10. There was a cool food cart area a short walk away.
Way better than I've expected. Will talk about the hotel, right, cause that what is this all about. Large room, double bed and a vinyl couch. Easy to adjust the room climate. Nice towels in the bathroom, Flat TV (quite big screen), coffee maker, microwaves. Cannot complain. Yes, is a bit noisy if your room is at the street (like mine was) but you get used to it in the end. Had the house keeping enter...

The area isn't the best but the hotel itself, the service and the staff were all excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. I wish there was a channel guide in the room for the TV but if that's literally the only negative thing I can think of, that means I had a pretty good stay.
The rooms themselves were clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was top notch, Livia, who checked me in was fantastic. But the floor I was on had a door that looked like it had been busted in, with a gaping whole covered by tape. Which made it feel unsafe. The room was also very bare. I would stay here again. Just not my first choice in the area. Pic was my view.
Room is small but clean. My room doesn't have a desk, but it may be because it is a handicap accessible room. A/C works well. Convenient location and the staff has been great. The restaurant is not bad as well.
The rooms are nice and I was very happy with the staff and the services. The location is convenient to the sights and public transportation. The only downside is not the fault of.the hotel. The area outside the hotel is blighted with drug activity and drug zombies. The hotel has guards in the lobby and you need a room key to use the elevator so I did.not feel unsafe. If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around... Lobby is really nice and looks recently renovated. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable, and front desk staff were very friendly. Immediate surroundings were somewhat crowded by SF’s homeless, which made walking near the hotel feel unsafe at times.
The homeless immediately surrounding the hotel make it very uncomfortable to get in and out of the hotel. The staff I imagine so their best to clear as much as possible, but it's still extremely off-putting and makes it feel unsafe. The staff is polite, but don't listen. The hotel is in a good location for us close to peir 39. Good restaurants in the area. This is the second time we stayed in this hotel.
Nice rooms. Surprisingly good selection for a 'continental' breakfast, although quality isn't high (fast-food style options). Fitness centre is better than most and has a decent dumbbell selection. Great location, 5 minute walk to the piers.
The is a nice hotel with an amazing staff. The rooms are nice but there are very few amenities here. They are also very small rooms. Parking is on site for $50+ dollars a night but you can park your car and get around San Francisco easily with the transportation here. Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman's Wharf are a very short walk so you're right next to the action.
Renovated rooms, breakfast is like a cruise ship with hundreds of people served. No complaints on the food and quick buffet. I was impressed with staffs ability to keep it flowing. Oddities in room like no safe and hanging lamps in places where you walk so you hit your head
Loved this place. Stayed here for 3 days all the way from South Carolina. The rooms were clean, the staff and custodians were friendly and the soap for the shower even smelled good haha. I had a great experience and it helped me enjoy my time at San Francisco.
Great location for the piers and shopping. Nice, clean, and comfortable rooms. Hotel employees are great at directions, review of local cuisine, and willing to go the extra mile. We have found a favorite place when visiting.

We were given two adjoining rooms after pre requesting and were surprised to be given rooms on a high floor with a fantastic view of San Francisco. Rooms were clean, tidy and well appointed. Great hotel! Went here back in March of 2024, and it was one of the best hotels I've been to so far. The hotel was fairly big and the views from the rooms were so beautiful! They also had a store at the lobby with a variety of items to buy. I would definitely come back to this hotel when I go back to San Francisco with my family. Overall, this hotel was very great!! 👍🔥🔥💯💯💯
We stayed here for 2 nights. Room was spacious and clean. We were on a higher floor and had a beautiful view of the city. Front desk were friendly. We had a problem with our parking ticket to exit and they promptly helped us to resolve the issue. It’s a great location with many restaurants within a short walk and a cable car stop just around the corner. We will stay here again.
Excellent service, location, and view. I liked having a workout area. Water refill station. Pool nice . Are rental car felt safe in the parking garage. It was easy to get in and out with ticket. Staff very friendly towards all guests. Elevators very secure.
For where the hotel is situated there is not much bad to say. Your right off a cable car stop, a whole foods, and a Starbucks. So if your a business traveler it has the necessity in a quick walk. Best thing is the beds are firm and provide a solid night sleep. Staff was nice and I had no issues. Rooms were clean. A great stay.
I have been coming to this particular Holiday Inn since 1998. It has always and yes nearly 24 years after my first stay it has been the best value for the dollar visit in SF. The views are more breath taking the higher up the hotel you stay. I love this place. Aweesome staff, the new layout is more sophisticated and more open than it was previously. Also security is exceptional.

The hotel is old but clean and classy. Rooms are small and beds need replacing but you can not beat the location and price. The staff were wonderfully friendly.
Well located within Union Square, the hotel is within walking distance from the BART station, bus and cable car stops. The location of this hotel was great. We were in walking distance to everything we had planned during our visit. The staff were super friendly. Cow Hollow is great! An absolutely great value with good views, quality rooms, and great service. After my second time staying here, I can say with confidence that the staff is absolutely friendly and helpful. My reservation this time was made under an incorrect spelling of my name, so when I called to clarify, they were prompt in changing it and also confirming that that things were ok. Then, I wanted...
The rooms were kept very clean and service was prompt. The room I had was unfortunately facing the interior of the building and only got light from an alley-way view. It was very affordable and had ample parking for the number of guests. I would stay again for its value.
Nice, but the suites lack logical furnishings. Tables with chairs that are way too big. Kitchens without basic cooking told, like pots and pans. Overall though, a very nice space in a great location.

This was a hotel deal I got off of hotwire so I wasn't really sure coming into it what I was getting. However everything has been great for our 2 night stay. The hotel has free parking and is close to many restaurants etc. The room was clean and well kept. Overall no real complaints.
Lovely hotel with many restaurants within walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff. Free parking and close to public transportation. Will be back and enjoyed the spacious rooms.
We had a wonderful stay at Chelsea. Stayed one week during the Escape of Alcatraz and enjoyed everything from check in until the last day. The staff and especially the manager was very helpful with providing a lot of suggestions for restauraurants and attarcations. We would certainly recommend for their professional service and great location with plenty restaurants and free parking.
Enjoyed the friendly and extremely helpful staff here they offered great recommendations. The room was very clean with everything you need for a short stay worry parking included (a godsend). About as affordable as you may find in the given area. The hotel itself has a deep history and the communal areas reflect all of that. Plenty of character in the lobby and halls! That said, the rooms show all of the age - peeling paint, creaking floorboards, etc. The furniture has all of the consistency in each room and from one room to next of multiple combined garage sales. Great hotel with very helpful and knowledgeable staff within walking distance of Union Square and very close to Japan Town. The interior design is very unique wich can both be a plus or a minus depending on your taste, I found it very nice. The WiFi worked well and we were able to stream movies with no interruptions.
The interior is decorated in a Victorian style, which was very interesting and cool to see. The parking situation requires a permit for a specific lot, but it is pretty good for San Francisco.
The Queen Ann Hotel is beautiful with a misterious feel to it. The gorgeous furniture and the amazing breakfast are the icing on the cake. You will surely think you've been transported back in time. Great experience.
This place is amazing. Built in 1889, this is a Victorian Masterpiece. It's not only beautiful to look at, it's wonderfully comfortable. The furniture, the artwork and the friendly staff make this place fun and exciting for anyone who loves history.

I would certainly stay here again. The staff are friendly, attentive, and just great overall. The hotel, and rooms, are clean and in a perfect location. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that the water pressure isn't great. But that still isn't enough to keep me away.
Reasonable room and parking. Located easy access to most of city. Great for spending time in city. Stay somewhere else if you want a lot to do without going out. Our family had a great vacation staying here.
Enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Generally it seems rooms are tiny and old in San Francisco but we were pleased that at this hotel the room was a decent size and felt comfortable. The room had an old fashioned charm but nothing was worn out. We had breakfast in our room one morning and that was good and not ridiculously overpriced as many hotels are. Only disappointment was some building work meant our...
Staff was wonderful, they were very helpful with all of the questions I had. The location is great, you can catch the trolley down the street. The bar and restaurant were good and reasonably priced. The rooms are a little small, but overall I would definitely go back if I went to San. Fran. again.
Just ok because of inadequate power supply for my devices in the room. No plug near to my bed (or hidden). The plug that are available don't provide standard power for my wall charger or my batteries. It took overnight to bring my cellphone from 15% to 87% and not due to my devices. Beautiful hotel, awesome breakfast and comfortable dining area. Comfortable beds and cozy pillows. Easy to get to and in walking distance from Ghirardelli square and all the piers. Let us stay parked in garage after checking out until 4pm. Had to pay to use parking garage. Can get expensive, but might be worth it for the convenience. Staff was very nice as well.

Within walking or biking distance of fisherman's wharf, Lombard Street, Coit tower, Chinatown, and many other popular locations. Nice clean hotel. It's within walking distance from Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 and all its shops. I researched a couple other hotels, and this one, for the price, had a parking garage that was actually decent (and had more than ten spaces), that was easily accessible from the street. Although the hotel is in a self-described edgy area it is a high quality hotel. The room is NYC size (limited on space) but the quality of the materials make up for this. HVAC system works well. I was able to fit my 21 inch carry-on in the dresser drawer. There is also a closet. The pillows don't provide enough support. The public areas are very nice and the WiFi works well. Staff is efficient and...
My aunt and I stayed here last November 16-17, and we had a great time. It had less amenities than we had been used to, but that is to be expected of a lower-end Hilton hotel. Most of the photos I posted are of their free breakfast - by far my favorite part of the stay. Our concierge, CY was also very friendly and helpful. I just had to take one star away because the second night, our shower water...
Newer hotel but typical Hampton Inn property. Rooms were clean. Staff was nice. The breakfast was typical of a Hampton Inn, but really really busy! It was in the basement of the building in a very small room. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is a bit questionable at night. Fortunately they have the need to use your room key to get in the elevator and hotel after a certain time in the evening...
Everything is great except a few things: 1. Rooms are tight. Not much room, but hey, that's city living. 2. The restrooms in the lobby require a room key to open, which is good (no random bums can come in and use the restroom), also, the restrooms have a deadbolt with a sign that says LOCK FOR PRIVACY. HOWEVER, when you use the room key, it UNLOCKS THE DEADBOLT! THE DEADBOLT IS EFFECTIVELY USELESS...
Clean with modern room furnishings, good breakfast, 24/7 coffee bar, and lounge area. Very nice bathroom and comfy bed. Hotel is on the edge of a rough part of town, so be aware. About 2 blocks from the Convention Center. Room is insanely small considering the price - barely enough space for the bed and no desk. Expected more for the price. I know this is downtown SF, but dang.
Hotel was nice and clean. Breakfast was good. Quiet hotel. Lost a star due to area it is in. Rougher area of the city. Would not feel comfortable walking alone, especially at night. Dirty and unsanitary streets. Local food is delicious, but there are much safer and nicer areas to stay in.
