KERCULLA Resort

We stayed in the King Suite and had a wonderful experience. The view from the room was stunning, especially at sunset, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The room’s air conditioning worked perfectly, which made our stay very comfortable.

The resort is beautiful—especially in the evenings—and the food was excellent. We also really enjoyed the Kerculla wine, which added a lovely local touch to our meals.

A fun discovery during our stay was learning from our guide that our waiter, Alvaro Cenko, is actually a local classical singing star in the UNESCO-protected ISO-Polyphony tradition. He later shared his YouTube channel with us, and his voice is truly amazing. We really wish we could’ve heard him perform live—it would be a brilliant idea for the resort to have him sing for guests in the evenings and showcase his talent.

A couple of small things: the pool wasn’t heated, and the corridors didn’t have air-conditioning, so they were a bit warm. But overall, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely return—especially in hopes of seeing Alvaro Cenko perform live next time!

Beautiful hotel in an incredible setting. The road up is challenging but they provide YouTube videos which are very helpful, and taxis up and down are inexpensive if you prefer not to drive it yourself. Would very much recommend a stay here!

Absolutely stunning resort with phenomenal views of Gjirokaster. Service was excellent and Kerculla had a great breakfast selection, but I felt the cleanliness in the room could have been slightly better. Regardless, thanks for a fantastic stay!

Absolutely superb! I highly recommend this place. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome with their friendly attitude and warm hospitality. The service was incredibly fast – everything arrived in record time – yet the quality of the food was outstanding. Every dish was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. What makes it even more special is the atmosphere: it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed and memorable evening while taking in the breathtaking view of the stone city. If you are in town, this is definitely a must-visit!

Oh what a find! We were slightly nervous about our Albania trip and we really did not need to be. It was an hour’s drive from Sarande in to the mountains to Gjirokaster via some stunning scenery but there was not much habitation in between. We were apprehensive about what we would find on our arrival in Gjirokaster. The village itself is absolutely stunning with loads of culture and history and authentic food and the people are just lovely. To get to the hotel you have to drive to the top of the hill and just when you wonder what you have booked you sweep down a long drive way to this absolute gem of a hotel. The views are breath taking of the mountains, valley and Gjirokaster and the castle below. I cannot express how beautiful it is. Our room was stunning. An authentic Ottoman style room with carved ceilings and wooden four poster bed. Our children were on single beds in the living area of the suite. The bedroom opens on to a balcony with the stunning, sweeping views of the mountainside and pool area. The most prefect spot for an evening glass of champagne watching the wildlife and the sun set on the valley below. We could not believe how perfect it was. The room is well appointed and spacious and clean. The pool area is exceptional with three pools with panoramic views of the mountains and town and infinity pool on the top deck. They are peaceful and relaxing with lovely sunbeds and the décor around the pool has been incredibly well curated. Stunning! We booked dinner in the restaurant for the first night and again we were apprehensive. The restaurant has a mind blowing view and one of the waiters suggested a bottle of white Albanian wine. It is honestly the best wine we have tasted in a long time, a bit like a really good Chablis and we are very much in to our food and drink with my husband sourcing wine from all over the world. The food was fabulous and we had such a wonderful dinner. Service was superb. My only niggle is that the mains came out before the starters were finished and they forgot to order the kids mains which meant we were finished our mains by the time theirs arrived and they are slow eaters. Please give customers a break between the starters and the mains. The service in the restaurant was excellent otherwise and we felt very well looked after. You will need to get a taxi down to the bazaar but is only 5 euros and the hotel recommended a taxi service. The Manager very kindly came out to help us with one of our taxis which was very much appreciated and he seemed super keen to ensure everything was ok for our stay and that the taxi driver was looking after us and not ripping us off. Thank you. Breakfast was buffet style. It was ok but I’m not a buffet fan as I hate eating food that’s been sitting out. Some a la carte options would improve the breakfast offering . Clean room, great food and very friendly, pro active staff! We wished we stayed longer. One full day can be spent by the pool with amazing views of the old town! The pool water is super clean too! Food and drinks were reasonably priced and there’s free parking! Stay as long as possible!

Kerculla Resort is an absolute gem in Gjirokastër. The views are breathtaking — you’re overlooking the entire city with stunning mountains in the background. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very well designed, with strong A/C to keep you comfortable.

The restaurant is excellent — every meal we had was fresh and delicious, and the service was warm and attentive. The pools are beautiful and well-kept, a perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Every single person we interacted with went out of their way to make us feel welcome — truly some of the kindest and most professional service we’ve experienced.

Driving up to the resort takes a bit of focus, but the cobblestone roads and winding paths make for a fun and memorable adventure. It’s all part of the charm.

This place is a must-visit. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

Fabulous facility with stunning pools and restaurant with panoramic views in all directions. If you’re driving your own car, it’s a little difficult to access. Advice: park at the hotel and then take a taxi to any destination. Restaurant is excellent, with breathtaking views.

Such a beautiful hotel in an amazing location. The rooms are spacious, modern and comfortable, and each room has an amazing view. The pools are beautiful, and it’s a stunning location to have breakfast and dinner. It’s a fair stroll downhill into town, but a taxi back is no problem.

So happy with the service, food and drinks. Breakfast was amazing!
