Gjirokaster, RRUGA BASHKIM KOKONA 🧭 Map
Beautiful hotel in an incredible setting. The road up is challenging but they provide YouTube videos which are very helpful, and taxis up and down are inexpensive if you prefer not to drive it yourself. Would very much recommend a stay here!
Absolutely stunning resort with phenomenal views of Gjirokaster. Service was excellent and Kerculla had a great breakfast selection, but I felt the cleanliness in the room could have been slightly better. Regardless, thanks for a fantastic stay!
Absolutely superb! I highly recommend this place. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome with their friendly attitude and warm hospitality. The service was incredibly fast – everything arrived in record time – yet the quality of the food was outstanding. Every dish was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. What makes it even more special is the atmosphere: it’s the...
We stayed in the King Suite and had a wonderful experience. The view from the room was stunning, especially at sunset, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The room’s air conditioning worked perfectly, which made our stay very comfortable.
The resort is beautiful—especially in the evenings—and the food was excellent. We also really enjoyed the Kerculla wine, which added a lovely local touch to...
Oh what a find! We were slightly nervous about our Albania trip and we really did not need to be. It was an hour’s drive from Sarande in to the mountains to Gjirokaster via some stunning scenery but there was not much habitation in between. We were apprehensive about what we would find on our arrival in Gjirokaster. The village itself is absolutely stunning with loads of culture and history and...
Clean room, great food and very friendly, pro active staff! We wished we stayed longer. One full day can be spent by the pool with amazing views of the old town! The pool water is super clean too! Food and drinks were reasonably priced and there’s free parking! Stay as long as possible!

The food is good, but the problems are as if it were on the seashore, the service is bad, the waiter's behavior is bad, I don't want to visit that place!!!!!??
We stopped by by chance after looking for somewhere to eat and was pleasantly surprised. They have a kind of buffet but where they kindly ask you to see the food (especially because of the difference in languages, although they speak English) and choose what you like best. We ordered a kind of lasagna but made with delicious macaroni, rice with chicken the same, a kind of empanada but with its Albanian...

(went there a few month ago) The owners were super friendly and helpful. And the location was very good, close to almost everything. The owner reccomend to take a walk to the castle even though the road is steep. We're glad she told us because we found lots of gorgeous places on our walk.
Located in the new town area. Good base at Gjriokaster if one carries heavy luggage. 10 minutes walk to the bus stop outside the main road gas station. However, it requires about 30 minutes steep walk to the castle. If anyone wants to walk less, a bus for 30 lek can bring you to the old town at uphill.
Owner is extremely kind and helpful. Room is clean and well equipped. Nice view of the city and...
The best value for money. The host with the warmest heart in Albania. The best place to get away but still be in the city. Comfy room. There are lots of nice restaurants around but they mostly serve chicken and also other things. Its a long walk to the castle but there are taxis around the corner if needed. The roof top of the hotel is a very cosy place to have your morning coffee or have a tee at...
What can i say for this friendly and really helpful couple? I needed a room last minute just for the night and their service and attitude was excellent. The lady speaks 3 languages and maybe more so you will definately get a great communication. The room and bathroom were so clean i felt sorry to use them :D
Highly recommended.
Good service with a bit of introduction of the manager. The rooms are nice with air condition and good bathroom. A must to check is the terrace with amazing views like the castle.

I stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights and I did a stupid thing. I do not want to elaborate just want to mention that the owner of the hotel showed exceptional help and generosity which I had not experienced in a long, long time. Shortly: the staff is friendly, helpful and the director/owner is a fantastic person. Thank you very much for such a pleasant encounter. Ivana Watson

We had a perfect stay at Kastro Hotel in Gjirokaster. The rooms were clean, spacious and the beds very comfortable. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and the breakfast buffet offered a great choice. We really enjoyed our time in this hotel.
This is a small and quaint lodging that perfectly fits the old town atmosphere. Service was amazing from the young man that sits at the front desk who was so warm, friendly and helpful. The room was large and had all the amenities. Only problem was the AC had a strange smell blowing out when you turn it on initially but apparently no one else could smell it so maybe it was just me? We happened to be...
Located at the edge of the town within easy reach of the centre, restaurants and bars. Our room was small but comfortable. The shower was excellent. Breakfast was varied and plentiful using local produce with the option of eating in or out. The family were extremely helpful.
A lovely family run hotel just by one of the gates to the old town. But in a quiet peaceful location with its own quiet shaded courtyard.
The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast served outside was excellent, with eggs & selection of fruit, pastries and jam
A beautiful hotel in a great location, just below the castle. Such friendly hosts, exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.
Great hotel. Right in the heart of the town but away from any noise. The beds are super comfortable and it has a real shower with a shower door, which is bizarrely rare in Europe. I’d definitely stay here again.
The only negative is that it doesn’t have the view of the mountains like other hotels. Rather, a pleasant view of a courtyard.

Amazing views from the hotel to the mountain. The restaurant where breakfast is served is on the roof, so it is beautiful to sit and eat whilst taking in the spectacular views. The hotel is in a great location in the heart of the old bazaar. It is also easy to walk up to the caslte. Room was comfy and the views definitely are the selling point of this hotel.
Fantastic location, 1 minute walk from the Grand Bizarre and 1 minute in the other direction to the cathedral. Restautants and bars are on the doorstep. Breakfast was the best that I have had so far in Albania with much more choice and food being replenished. The shower was not great, with water not coming out of the whole shower head but the room was good with a comfy bed.
Really well located, modern hotel. This hotel is just beyond the end of the road up to the town meaning you don't have to take your luggage too far! Modern hotel, stayed as part of tour group so can't comment on value for money. We stayed in a twin room, 3rd floor at the end of a corridor. Room was largish and a pleasant temperature, some natural light. Comfortable beds. Good bathroom, bit narrow...
Can't get any where more central, right in the square. Vehicles only allowed so far , it's a 5 minute walk. Easy check-in, lift temperamental, room clean and tidy, comfortable bed, decent shower. Only negative, there's no bedside light , bit of an inconvenience. Breakfast OK, great views from the dining room. I had a balcony with my room, great views.
Facing the main square Hotel Cajupi is close to many restaurants. The outdoor dining area on the top floor offers a panoramic view ot the town and nearby plains. Rooms were clean with consistent wi-fi access. The hotel offer a modest breakfast buffet. When I dined there the only fruit served was sliced watermelon. The coffee was also weak.
Right on the edge of the old cobblestone paved streets of the city of stone. This hotel is very good option. Breakfast was very good. They do not accept credit cards.Bar service was also very good. We recommended!

This is a lovely old well maintained hotel at top of Gjirokaster with great views over valley and hills. Rooms were in excellent condition and breakfast was amazing - the best we had anywhere in Albania. Highly recommended.
Perfect hotel with a beautiful view! The staff was very welcoming, so kind and generous! I would recommend this hotel!

The hotel is excellent: clean, welcoming and well located. The views are incredible. There is private parking nearby, E$4.00/day.
Absolutely stunning. You can see it from the main square and it’s easy to get to by walk. But the view was absolutely stunning. The breakfast was great and the service was wonderful.

A meal with no end! Authentic Albanian flavours served in a wonderful atmospheric building where the history of Albania is evident. Field to table meals with stunning wholesome flavours. Absolutely worth stop to taste and soak up the culture.
We have been to Bujtina Maria to have lunch with my family. The place was so nice and the food was extraordinary. The staff and the owners were so nice and very friendly. I highly recommended it if you want to try special and traditional food.

The village is very pretty too,, set amongst the mountains, and the church a real treasure. Ask the kind owner, and he will get the church key for you.

Very nice hotel...a struggle to find, but worth it. Clean and tidy, nice staff with good English.
Large room out front was comfy but you do get morning noise, i might have preferred no view as we didn't sit in the room at all.
I can definitely recommend this small hotel. Very cozy, friendly and helpful staff, nice pool and a little gym with a great view. Located right next to the old town. Our room was on the top floor and the roof was a little low, but it was clean, nice and with good air conditioning
Lovely small hotel in an old house, very close the bazaar centre. Good size rooms, modern bathroom. Also a small swimming pool and patio area where they serve a big and varied breakfast. Helpful staff, couldn't fault it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It’s more like a boutique hotel or bed and breakfast. Wonderful welcome by the staff. Our room was spacious for our family of 4. We were considering a larger resort there, but I’m so happy we didn’t. Praga was closer and a short walk to the old town and…that big resort is not walkable to the sites. A charming hotel in an historic and well renovated period Ottoman era villa. The room we had was comfortable and spacious. There are level views from the balcony of the old and new towns and across the valley. It is well situated for the old bazaar quarter and castle. À highlight is the substantial breakfast available to be served on the terrace, the balcony or indoors. The staff are helpful and charming
It is situated in the hart of the old town, so almost all sites are at walking distance
Stayed family room. Roomy and clean.
Feel like back to the past of Ottoman era that is decorated with. located near Old town 5 mins away. Parking place privided in the property.
Stunning hotel in the upper hillside of the town. Traditional architecture, incredible views, charming owners and support staff. Wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night!
great value for money
Room was exactly like a picture. 250 years old, with many original details. Very cozy place with a fantastic view. They served tasty and home made dishes for breakfast on balcony on top, again with beautiful view. Free parking.
Positive experience.
Beautiful, quaint hotel with lovely old style Albanian furnishings. Classic! We took “the best” room #3, with king-size very comfortable bed with soft linens. This is a beautiful hotel with European styling, lovely bathrooms, lovely woodwork, tea kettle in the room. Good water pressure in a compact shower so not for the obese. Plenty of lighting and two mirrors. Firm mattress and immaculately clean throughout. Excellent breakfast serving the expected plus cooked beets, beet greens and vegetables.
Located very easy walk to the Castle of Gjirokastra; Argjiro Hotel has been renovated to match the ambiance of the area with impressive and detailed hand-crafted wood working in the reception area. This hotel was one of the highlights of our stay in Albania! The renovations were incredible. The woodworking and art were amazing and fine. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. Very pleasant young team with good English in charge of reception and the breakfasts. Terrace with stunning views. Just on the edge of the old town - everywhere easy to walk to and friendly (but don’t go for the gastronomy) restaurants. A comfortable place to stay.
It's a simple motel for a couple of days' stopover. The staff is fast and friendly, good treatment, very good parking. There were no towels and the front desk resolved the issue quickly.
No elevator access to my room, which was awful. Not to mention key card didn’t always work. Lovely way down to the office after a day of walking. Really frustrating when you have mobility issues.
Great hotel. Amazing modernized old building
