Comfort Suites Downtown

There was a Chinese-speaking Mr. Wu at the reception desk in the lobby. We were worried about not being able to speak French. When Mr. Wu heard us speaking Chinese, he enthusiastically helped and said I can speak Chinese too! Helped us in Chinese throughout and taught us how to park and ride! Parking gave us a discount! Really thank him for his help! Saves a lot of trouble!Although the hotel is poorly cleaned! But the service was really good!

Room was clean and spacious. Hotel is walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Served scrambled eggs, sausages, cereals, and a variety of bread/bagels with cream chees in the breakfast room.
Room is small so it is a good idea to come early especially on a weekend .
We felt the only downside is the parking. Valet parking is no longer available. We were sent to an indoor parking in an office building a few minutes drive from hotel. When my husband went to pick up our car for the drive home it took him 20 minutes to get to the hotel due to one way streets, construction and local traffic. I would suggest walking to the parking lot with your suit cases. It's approximately 5 minutes walk.

As a place to sleep for the night, it is perfectly adequate. I felt safe, and the staff was mostly curtious. The room was well made when we arrived, and mostly met our needs.

The hotel building itself, though, was extremely outdated. The elevator was incredibly cramped and moved extremely slowly. One of the front doors seemed to even be broken and would not close all the way. There were minimal amenities, just a small workout room and a single computer, as far as I could tell. They did have the typical continental breakfast, which, while I did not have the chance to try it, seemed good enough. We ended up booking a room with a pull out couch, however the room did not come with any pillows, blankets, or sheets for the couch. We ended up asking the front desk for some, and they were able to provide a set.

Overall, it was not a bad experience, but it was also not a great one. If you need a quick space to stay for a trip to MTL, I am sure there are much worse places you could stay, it is just that for the price, I as expecting a little better in terms of quality.
