The Westin Wall Centre, Vancouver Airport

The room was large and very clean with a comfortable bed.

For a Westin, I was disappointed. The pool was down two halls, three flights of stairs, and two locked doors. There was a random set of clean sheets left on the toilet when we arrived. The parking garage can only be entered through the car gate, which locks at night, so I couldn’t easily get to forgotten items in the car. The overhead clearance is so low in the garage, my minivan trunk touched the ceiling when I opened it.

That said, the room was otherwise comfortable, and quiet. Free bottles of water were a nice touch, as well as free ear plugs in case of nearby construction.

The staff were all pleasant and friendly.

The hotel is lovely, clean, and in a good state of repair. Rooms are spacious and modern, the pool and gym are above average (even if it's a hike to get to them), and all these things earned them 3 stars.

The issue that irritates me is the restaurant. The food isn't bad, but the service has been consistently terrible. Twice I was forgotten in a corner and ignored, looking serving staff in the eye only to have them quickly retreat rather than coming to assist. Even after speaking up, I watched people arrive after me, receive service, and pay (not an exaggeration) before I could order a meal. That's just ridiculous, particularly given the costs of the meals.

If you only need a decent room with a few simple amenities, it's perfectly lovely... Though you'd assume the nightly costs would dictate a higher service level. If you stay here, though, consider getting your meals anywhere else; no matter how decent the food is, it's not worth the annoyance.

Don't wait for shuttle. It takes 30-40 min for it to go around. But all other services and amenity are great
