English Bay Hotel

The location is great, steps away from Stanley Park and English Bay. My room had a beautiful view. However, it is a very busy and noisy area. I had to use ear plugs to sleep.
Service at the front desk was efficient and prompt. Check-in and out was easy and no surprises. They provided an iron and ironing board when I asked.
The room was apartment style with a kitchenette. It is very dated with old furniture and carpets. My bed was reasonably comfortable. There were two other beds in the suite and one had a very poor mattress with a big dip in the centre.
Cleaning service was spotty. Some days, I didn't get any fresh towels and no evidence that any cleaning was done. Although the bathroom and bedroom were clean, the rest of the suite could have used a good scrubbing. There was splatter in the wall beside the stove and above the counter. Baseboards had a layer of dust.
There were no tea towels or paper towels in the kitchen. Kitchen was reasonably stocked with the basic essentials for eating in.
I would probably stay here again, but I hope they improve their housekeeping services.

Location is GREAT, rooms are OK. We booked the room through a third party website so we tried calling the hotel multiple times to see if they have got the reservation and no one picked the phone. On the day of check-in we got there early and the guy (white guy) over there said we can't do early check-in and we have to wait until 3pm. We said we tried calling multiple times and no one picked to which he said we should have sent an email 🤣 I thought the first mode of communication is always a phone but anyway the stay was okay, once again Location is nice. The Asian uncle at the front desk is very nice and sweet.

Not the best hotel, but definitely not the worst. The area is nice, the hotel is super cheap. Inside is a little shady. Good place to stay if you're on a budget. Parking lot is creepy and really small though, better to pay on the street. Came with a full size kitchen too which is a bonus

Convenient, but not fancy; you definitely get what you pay for. We had ocean views from our room, and the location really couldn’t get much better. A little scary on the outside, smells weird in the hallway, but the staff are friendly and obviously try to keep the place as clean as possible. Beds aren’t super comfy, and the rooms give off a trap house vibe. I believe we were the only guests staying here because we rarely ever saw another person? Probably will not be staying here again but it was an authentic Vancouver experience for sure. I don’t have any complaints but I would definitely suggest to spend a couple more bucks on a nicer hotel.
