The Sylvia Hotel

Went for an evening nightcap. Loved the space! Tons of potential and cocktails were very good. Music was really bad. Would have liked some nice lounge music but I think they are underusing the space and should definitely have a piano player and lounge singer. That would elevate the whole experience. Great location and great space; they just need to work on ambiance.

The brunch here is amazing. A great selection of items from the menu. The omelette and the eggs Benedict are to die for !
Staff are welcoming to us and we were seated almost as soon as we arrived. Our server help us with deciding what to order by giving some recommendations since it is our first time here. We enjoyed the foods we had and it felt very fulfilling.

Didn't see rooms, but dinner was fantastic. The view stunning. Now my favorite dining place for atmosphere. Had a 3 member jazz band.

Who could ask for a better location than the historic Sylvia Hotel. Right on English Bay, with views of the ocean and setting sun from the restaurant and lounge. Food and drinks were fantastic as is the cool vibe of the whole place. Only complaint might be water pressure that is low in the shower.

Place is great, it has a nice atmosphere and felt very comfortable dining here. I like the lighting and the indoor set up of seating. Old world charm with a beautiful view of English Bay. From the minute we walked in the staff were warm and welcoming. At reception they were fast and efficient while being polite and welcoming. The room was on the 5th floor. It was gigantic. It had two very comfortable queen beds a couch with a full coffee table and a flat screen which swivelled to any direction in the room. There was a view of English Bay. All the halls and furniture are antiques. There are so many photographs of Vancouver since the hotel’s inception. Also of Sylvia herself. The restaurant in the lobby is lovely. It has incredible views of the Bay and a great menu. Definitely go during “happy hour”. I had tea and roasted Brussels sprouts and they were delicious. The only drawbacks were, the couch in our room looked extremely tired and worn ( I wouldn’t sit on it without a towel) and the washroom wash beautiful and updated but it was very small and the water pressure was low. The shower pressure was fine. All in all, I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.
