Second to none. Beautiful rooms with many thoughtful details and amenities, including an extremely comfortable bed. Great location, only a few blocks from the Inner Harbour. My 2 friends and I just returned from Victoria had an amazing week stay at Abigail’s. The staff are so friendly and attentive and very helpful. The included breakfasts are amazing and the menu changes daily. 2 of us don’t eat pork or bacon and they happily accommodate and gave us almost custom made substitutions. Decent place to stay in the city, nice workers.

Good hotel right at the center of everything! Lots of good restaurants and tourist places are near by. We were able to see the Victoria Day Parade from our room! Only disadvantage is you can hear traffic sound at night, if you are sensitive then book a room that doesn’t face the Main Street!

The hotel has really comfortable beds, awesome pillows, great water pressure, and atmosphere. There is a slight smell to the hotel that is not completely unpleasant. It kind of smells like old books. It’s a beautiful building but it’s really old. It’s like frozen in time. The elevator did not work which is a problem with taking your luggage to your room. The electric installations are inefficient. The bathroom was very small. The TV sistem is really slow. It’s a good place but has a lot of things to improve.

It is old and careworn, the air vents are very loud and the coffee station wasn't stocked in our room. The pool is tiny, but there, same as the fitness room. But we booked it for the location which was phenomenal. And that was the point. We did really like that they had coffee available in the lobby.

Had a 4 night stay. Nice comfortable room,though it wasn't serviced while we were there. I guess we could have requested it. They apparently were short staffed so didn't see a need to ask. I really like this hotel. Rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and it's in a great location. My only issue is it's loud. Walls are paper thin. If you're a deep sleeper or wear ear plugs you'll be ok. My last stay there were a group of guys in their 20s on my floor. I had a feeling it would be a long night. Their price is good for victoria in that prime location. I stayed on the 3rd floor, and the room was spacious and clean. They don't have any air conditioning or fancy furniture in the room. The reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating was the lack of proper housekeeping. Had to ask a few times for more toilet paper. Kept removing our towels and not replacing them. I reason I gave it a 4 star rating and not lower was due to Jeff making an excellent breakfast and being very personable.

Very clean and stylish. Very friendly host. The room we had was spacious and had a jet bath tub which I find is rather more practical than the vintage bath tubs at other places. For breakfast we were served poached eggs, hash browns, mushrooms, toast, fruits, sausage, bacon and more which was delicious. There is even a book room to watch old VCR movies. An absolutely fantastic stay! The house and garden are beautiful and the breakfast is fresh and delicious. And the owner and her staff are some of the friendliest and most accomodating people I've ever seen managing an inn. We only stayed for one night, would have loved to stay longer.

I stayed for a week in a two bedroom suite overlooking fisherman’s wharf. The unit was really well kept with great features and a wonderful view. The staff were excellent as well. They really added to the experience and comfort by making people feel relaxed and at home. I will definitely stay here again.

We only stayed for one night in a deluxe queen room. It was a spacious room with a couple of big windows with blackout curtains, and even a partial view to the water. I was pleased that the air in the room felt fresh and had no odours whatsoever (I had read reviews mentioning smells but we didn't notice a thing, and I am very sensitive to that). Our favorite place to stay in Victoria. This hotel has so much History and charm. Stay in a Superior Room with a real wood burning fireplace, yes it's real and you can buy extra buckets of wood. Jacuzzi tub as well with amazing water views. All for half the price of any other hotel and best location hands down in Victoria.

I love this hotel. It is not for anyone wanting all the modern accoutrements, but it has great character in a central location. Everything I want.

The room was qreat value and right in the heart of Victoria. There were no surprises - a clean room with all the basics. It had a unique charm to it which set it apart from other hotels. I would book a room here again if I made a trip back to the area.

Hotel seems old and has that old "I've been on the harbour for 20 years" smell. Not gross at all, just not fresh and new. Rooms are tight but very clean. Full bathroom and we had a little fridge and extra sink. Awesome location as it's right by the legislative assembly and museum etc.

My friend and I were very impressed with the Arbutus Inn. It was a very clean hotel and was newly renovated. The renovations were very tasteful and our room was very nice. You could also tell that there were new beds. They were very comfortable and had a good design. I was especially impressed that there no "smoke" smell in the rooms or in the hotel lobby. Very good service. We were originally placed in a room that was next to a small baby who would cry frequently. When we asked politely to move they accommodated us immediately. We stayed here for 1 night, during a swim meet. I was quite surprised that the hotel did not offer a breakfast, as, most do now-a-days. Especially the large chains, such as this. This was such a lovely place with beautiful decor. The interior has little touches that made it feel very welcoming. The place was spacious and clean. We had an amazing time and it very much exceeded our expectations!

Location is excellent, right in the heart of Victoria. Nice and quite neighbourhood. The cottages are colourful with a lot of character, beautiful landscaping. Well stocked kitchen utensils, appliances.

Comfortable and attractive surroundings, friendly hosts and close to downtown. We walked there our first evening for dinner. The suite was bright with lots of windows and the garden areas were beautiful. We sat outside every afternoon and read our books. The bed was comfortable and the shower had lots of hot water. Had a wonderful stay here with my husband! Ned and his wife provided top class customer service! The cottage we stayed in was so quaint and had all the amenities needed. Enjoyed making eggs and pancakes with the provided breakfast! Would highly recommend this B&B! Would defiantly stay here again! Thanks for everything!

Lovely!! Close to the pier. Walkable distance to downtown. Very clean, owner is on-site and very gracious. Outside seating in lovingly maintained garden. I recommend this place absolutely.

In 1995 my husband and I stayed in the Cottage at Heathergate House and loved it. I had the wonderful opportunity to stay there again recently with three family members.
