a&o Hauptbahnhof Mini-hotel

At first, we were given a room for disabled guests with a wet, sticky floor and a terrible smell. When we asked to change the room, the staff agreed, although not very willingly. The new room was better. However, the hotel overall felt old and poorly maintained, and the crowd staying there was quite strange. I often use this hotel chain, but this particular location was disappointing.

While the common areas and overall service and hospitality was great, the bedrooms sucked. I guess you get what you pay for, considering it’s on the cheaper side, but this was a little disappointing. The beds were very squeaky and had no support… every time you move or turn over, the entire room will wake up. The walls are also paper thin… you can hear every footstep, whisper, door etc. Finally, the showers were quite bad considering the quality and modernity of everything else. They were not cleaned well at all, filled with hair and goop and there was no bath mat causing the whole floor to be wet. There was also no water pressure or hot water when I tried to shower. Other than that, the rest of the hostel is quite nice and the location is nice with walking distance to the train station and the city square.

Good and central location, although close to the central station which can be a bit shady at night. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean, very good lodging considering the price. Would give 4 stars but the showers were an abomination to cleanliness, although it's not because of the quality of the cleaning crew, more a problem with the pipes. Staff was helpful and the common kitchen has everything you need, except for space maybe. We stayed for almost two weeks while waiting for our RV to get fixed and we dont regret it. Have a good stay!
