We stayed during the busy Easter period, which we understand is a peak time, but unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations.
On the first day, we skipped breakfast due to a 20-minute wait for a table. When we were finally seated, we were placed at a table with strangers, so we decided to leave—but we still payed for it. Most of the staff weren’t particularly welcoming, except for one kind team member who helped us change our breakfast time.
On the second day, we did manage to have breakfast (at a different time), but that too was a hassle. We initially waited for 15 minutes before returning to our room, then came back after 30 minutes. Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait that time. The breakfast itself was good, and we enjoyed the food.
As for the room—we had booked a “deluxe” room, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the title. At first glance, it looked nice, but it did not meet our expectations. The fridge smelled unpleasant and was not clean. One of the wooden floorboards was broken, and the beds were quite old. The bathroom was decent, except for one major issue: the shower. There was no curtain or screen, which meant the entire bathroom—including the toilet—ended up soaked after each use.
At night, the room became very hot, which was uncomfortable, especially considering it was only April and we had the windows open.
Finally, regarding the swimming and wellness area: the facilities themselves are great, but the water was too cold. I believe guests would enjoy it much more if the water temperature was higher. Personally, I found it too cold to stay in for long.

Stayed here with a group of ten people on motorbikes for 7 days. The female receptionist was very unhelpful and rude, constantly causing difficulties when ever possible.
The rooms were serviced once in 7 days with the towels also being replaced once in 7 days.

Overall a very pleasant experience. The staff is very approachable and helpful. The rooms are a little dated but clean, wonderful breakfast, the location is very convenient. Thank you for hosting us.

No electrical kettle in the room. Staff not very helpful even after explaining that we need it to make food for our baby. That has never before been a problem in any other hotels.

The hotel consists of several complexes that are very well integrated into the old town. The main train station is also within easy reach. Nice swimming pool with sauna, everything is well maintained. Rooms are modern, there is nothing to complain about.

The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to most things in the city. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was relatively small but nice and clean, however I missed an electric kettle so I could make a cup of instant coffee. The breakfast restaurant was really good with plenty of fresh bread, croissants, juice, eggs and bacon, cheese, sausage, etc. Very unusually the coffee was not from a machine but was real coffee served in a thermos on the table - big praise for that! The dinner restaurant was not on the same level, but ok for the price (I was there on a group trip with SKAN travel). All in all, I can recommend and will be happy to return another time.

Close to historical town. I was told there was a pool but didn't use it. Room is good size for solo travels with a small refrig. Clean. There is breakfast service but I didn't try it.

I was very disappointed with my visit to this hotel. The breakfast was very good and the staff was very friendly and nice. I liked the charm of the old part of the hotel. However, on my first night, I was put into room 232 which was a very spacious room. Initially, I was very happy. However, once I got into bed, I realised that this room was beside the railway line and when a train would go by, the room's contents would vibrate. At 1AM, I rang the receptionist to change me to the quietest room. The change of room had no air conditioning. It was like an oven to sleep in the room at night. I was charged an extra 40 euro per night to sleep in a very quiet, hot bedroom. I effectively did not get a full night's sleep. I would not recommend this hotel to stay in during the Summer, especially during the very hot weather.

We chose Goslar because of the history and beautiful buildings and surrounding nature.
And of course when you are visiting a place like that, you should pick the beat hotel there is.
And look no further than Der Achtermann.
Beautiful rooms with lovely bathrooms and a minibar which isn't expensive ;)
The service is satisfactory with the cleaning being done proffesionally, and the restaurant staff being very helpful.
And then of course the rest of the staff also did a good job.
The food was also something you'd remember, because it was perfect.
But if you haven't purchased the option to eat at the hotel, then luckily, the hotel is placed close to the city center.
So currywurst is never more than 4 minutters away.
Would definitely recommend you choosing this hotel when visiting Goslar.
