No electrical kettle in the room. Staff not very helpful even after explaining that we need it to make food for our baby. That has never before been a problem in any other hotels.

The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to most things in the city. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was relatively small but nice and clean, however I missed an electric kettle so I could make a cup of instant coffee. The breakfast restaurant was really good with plenty of fresh bread, croissants, juice, eggs and bacon, cheese, sausage, etc. Very unusually the coffee was not from a machine but was real coffee served in a thermos on the table - big praise for that! The dinner restaurant was not on the same level, but ok for the price (I was there on a group trip with SKAN travel). All in all, I can recommend and will be happy to return another time.

I was very disappointed with my visit to this hotel. The breakfast was very good and the staff was very friendly and nice. I liked the charm of the old part of the hotel. However, on my first night, I was put into room 232 which was a very spacious room. Initially, I was very happy. However, once I got into bed, I realised that this room was beside the railway line and when a train would go by, the room's contents would vibrate. At 1AM, I rang the receptionist to change me to the quietest room. The change of room had no air conditioning. It was like an oven to sleep in the room at night. I was charged an extra 40 euro per night to sleep in a very quiet, hot bedroom. I effectively did not get a full night's sleep. I would not recommend this hotel to stay in during the Summer, especially during the very hot weather.

We chose Goslar because of the history and beautiful buildings and surrounding nature.
And of course when you are visiting a place like that, you should pick the beat hotel there is.
And look no further than Der Achtermann.
Beautiful rooms with lovely bathrooms and a minibar which isn't expensive ;)
The service is satisfactory with the cleaning being done proffesionally, and the restaurant staff being very helpful.
And then of course the rest of the staff also did a good job.
The food was also something you'd remember, because it was perfect.
But if you haven't purchased the option to eat at the hotel, then luckily, the hotel is placed close to the city center.
So currywurst is never more than 4 minutters away.
Would definitely recommend you choosing this hotel when visiting Goslar.

A small town of Goslar to visit on weekend. Nice cafes and local bakeries to enjoy.

Nice, clean rooms. Great view from the windows. Free access to swimming pool and saunas for guests. A bit loud at night.

The room overall is OK, comfortable but not big. However, my specific room had a faulty light - the main light on the ceiling - since I checked in and contacted reception 3 times to fix it and only gotten a "sorry we are unable to fix your light" after pestering for 3 times! So my entire stay in this hotel is completely dark except for the toilet light and the small bed lights above the bed. Very bad. Can't do anything like reading etc at all after dark! Buffet breakfast is at 15€ per person. Altdeutsch Stuben restaurant beneath is alright but the wait for your main course to be served is very long.

In Goslar was a year ago on a business trip, lived in Achtermanne. Stunning city, lovely hotel, it's like living in another time. Quiet, clean, nice staff, tasty Breakfast (buffet), pastry is perfect! Suggest to take a room higher up with a view to the street - the view is amazing. Goslar must see!
