A bit old fashioned (but spacious) rooms however, it is super clean and quiet. You can sleep here like a baby. They also have very nice mid size pillows not like other hotels with the giant ones. Very cossy after all.
Nice view from the window to the forest. Also lots of nature around. Friendly staff. They speak English very well. Very good breakfast. Absolute bargain!

This is a lovely hotel in a tranquil setting. Nicely decorated in the main areas, the rooms are slightly older but still in excellent condition. Food in the restaurant was also very good..will stay here again for my next business trip.

Easy check-in via a key safe and access code. Beautiful large room in sweet baroque style. Coffee and tea on site.
Clean, quiet. I have used it as due to a fair (Messe) nothing was available in Essen area. It did require a bit more travel with public transportation, but it was manageable. Google Maps shows the proper ways to get there.
Let me also mention the extra kindness to provide me an iron (which is not basic here, but could still be managed) without extra costs. Really kind. Thanks!
The owner was very kind and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. Very charming and cozy.

Highly recommended, the rooms are clean and well equipped. The area invites you to hike. The nature there is unique, every morning you wake up with the chirping of birds. The people there are very nice and accommodating. I recommend it, also ideal for bikers. Until next time.

Nice little hotel in Heiligenhaus. Very friendly staff. Rooms are spacious, quite and modern. All rooms are disabled-friendly. Breakfast is good, fresh eggs (scrambled, fried, ...) prepared on demand.
Super central location in the middle of the city of Heiligenhaus. Great view of the Neandertal from the upper floors. Very nice facility and barrier-free in every respect. Great praise for the sustainable construction and the high-quality furnishings. Breakfast is also healthy and organic. Great concept - absolute recommendation - very good price-performance ratio.

After 10 minutes of wandering, a local resident explained to me that access is via the Best Western Hotel.
Check-in at the Western Park Hotel nearby. You can also park there - for a fee. The building can then also be accessed from there. So DO NOT let Google drive you directly to the house at the park. Recession bed and breakfast see my recessions there. The problem here, by the way, is Booking.com. Was there on business (so was only the guest and not the person who booked) and booking has traditionally...

Exceptionally clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Tablet in the room didn't work at all and I woke up one morning to no hot water. Nothing worse than an ice cold shower. If not for those two issues, I would have given 5 stars. Decent area with just about everything you need within walking distance (a mile or so).
The hotel was made from an old factory so you can see some cool photos of that era.
The hotel itsself is well maintained and cleaned.
Breakfast is classic continental with a good choice of options. Lunch/dinner options are pretty good too - you can even mix&match a couple of options.
The staff is great 👍
I would miss better AC if I was here during hotter months, maybe, but being here several times...

Very nice hotel. The room was spacey, clean and nicely done. I had a beautiful view to the park. The attached Restaurant has nice food even though the vegetarian alternatives are hard to find. So they could improve on that. The breakfast buffet was delicious and well done. The room prices are fair.

Hotel is fine, nice large rooms the restaurant quality could have been a little better. There is a very nice park behind the hotel that is worth a visit.
Ok hotel, meals and room interior is very nice. But don't go there during heat waves, there is no AC in the rooms.

Nestled amidst a picturesque landscape, this castle boasts a surrounding moat stepped in history, where you can escape and relax. We were astounded when we spotted an otter swimming gracefully in the moat - an extraordinary, magical, and rare experience.
Extraordinary buildings renovated in a lovely way to fulfill the five star feeling of the hotel (this really old stone and brick castle). Fireplaces with live fires going in the evenings are cosy. But be prepared for the smell if you are sensitive. The fine dining experience is a thing I truly appreciate and recommend!
Castle converted into a hotel with an outside restaurant ( used also for weddings). The location has parking and it is usually not crowded. As a customer you get also free access in the back, into the castle garden. I was just visiting, so I can't write about the hotel part anything.

Idyllic hotel in a quiet area but with good local transportation connections to Düsseldorf airport and Essen. The hotel has a good restaurant, bar and a 9-pin bowling alley. The rooms and the breakfast are quite basic, but serve their purpose. Overall I think you get really good value for your money when staying in this hotel.

I can talk a lot about the advantages of this hotel, but I want to highlight the most basic ones. The owners of the hotel have made this place so comfortable and cozy that you will feel like at home. The dishes are exquisitely prepared and very tasty, the dishes are served with love, very nice and tasty! Come here and you will not regret!
Stayed here for some training recently and the hotel is great. It's modern and spotlessly clean and the owners and staff are incredibly helpful
We had a dinner with a group of about 30 people on both nights we stayed and the food was excellent.
Breakfast was great too. Lots of choice and they would make something for you if you asked

Excellent camping with very cosy sleeping pods (Campingfass). Very comfortable with heating and electricity. Service is great, very friendly. Location is also super practical, near S bahn station to Essen but also only 30 minutes by car from Düsseldorf and Wuppertal. Italian restaurant (trattoria da Giulia) at the entrance is excellent, but also many restaurants and shops in nearby Werden.
Very kind people, very clean bathrooms and plenty of hot water. We stayed in a camping pod because of cold nights and it was very cozy. Very close to public transport too!

We stayed with our dog in Haus Gastgeb in October 2022. We have been received very friendly. The room was incredibly comfortable, clean and rustically furnished. The breakfast was sensational. In addition, Hotel Gastgeb was the only hotel in Essen that we could find during the fair that hadn't increased its prices...
We were very satisfied for our visit to Essen. Super rich breakfast, nice staff, familiar and fine rooms. The center (main train station) can be reached by express bus in 20 minutes. I would prefer a "sausage roll" to the Greek in the future - but that's a matter of taste.
The accommodation would be a reason for us to visit the city of Essen again. Five stars ***** from Lörrach!

Food is really nice with good ambience and you will also get Alt beer here which the specialty of Düsseldorf city.
We were there in the evening for bowling. The Service was good and the food that we ordered was delicious. Only the hourly price of the bowling alley from 8€ I felt was a little steep.
By chance passing by, and very surprised come. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
All of the rehearsal dinner were excellent and we are now moving with our cone club (Düsseldorf) to get there.
