Exceptionally clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Tablet in the room didn't work at all and I woke up one morning to no hot water. Nothing worse than an ice cold shower. If not for those two issues, I would have given 5 stars. Decent area with just about everything you need within walking distance (a mile or so).

After traveling for nearly 16 hours they forced us to wait until exactly 3:00pm before they would allow us to check into our rooms.... We were completely tired,exhausted and just wanted to get some rest. Unbelievable for a Best Western!!!! Our company will avoid this place at all cost in the future as we expect a higher level of customer care.

The hotel was made from an old factory so you can see some cool photos of that era.
The hotel itsself is well maintained and cleaned.
Breakfast is classic continental with a good choice of options. Lunch/dinner options are pretty good too - you can even mix&match a couple of options.
The staff is great 👍
I would miss better AC if I was here during hotter months, maybe, but being here several times, I've never had a problem.
Rooms are spatious and equipped with table & sofa in which you can read. Bathrooms are OK and they have some special soaps that smell really nice.
Oh, and there is a great park nearby where you can walk/run.
Overall, a great experience.

It is too far from the Essen city center and you need a car for that during weekends. It was really clean. The view of garden was not such a wow. The staff were good. In my opinion, the region is slightly unsafe in the late afternoons and evenings ...

Today we were eating with my father in a wheelchair in the afternoon here and very excited. Can recommend the Restaurant. Nice ambience on the terrace on the Park. The staff is very helpful and courteous. The Best, however, was the quality of the food! A fine little afternoon card with creative dishes. Not the usual home-style soup with chips and micro-waves -side-dishes! The Kaiserschmarrn for example, is excellent, and the waffles are very tasty. Everything is nicely done and makes you hungry. Compliment to the kitchen - we would not have expected in Velbert. We will definitely be back and would like to try the Barbecue and Breakfast.

Nice and super clean rooms, very comfortable bed and a very refreshing walk-in shower. Wi-Fi could be better though, in some rooms the signal is not so good and video calls are often disconnected. There's also a good variety of food for breakfast, but coffee can be better.

Only spent one night there and never got to see the garden (it was dark). The room was quite big, looked clean but smelt a bit. Sort of as if they used dirty old dishwater to clean it. A bit sour.
Quite firm beds, a bit too much for my taste. Very quiet room. Fairly good breakfast buffet.

I had the "pleasure", the night of may 26. to spend 27.09.15 in the Parkhotel Velbert, departure on 27. to 06 PM. When you check in, it was said : "tonight there is a big Party. I could accept a downgrading (room without mini-bar) and would then in the 2. Floor, where it was quiet." I did then also. The entrance hall, where the Party on the ground floor, then started against 1830 hrs, which is open to the roof. So the separation of my hallway and 1 door was a stable door. The party noise was in the room absolutely unbearable and went on until 0115 hrs. A room change would have been to a nichrt possible, on the other hand, not have been better. The noise level was across the hall constant. My fellow colleague had in his room on a different hallway the same Problem. We can organize a 4 star Hotel parties, if not it is ensured that it is in the rooms quiet ?

We had taken the out-of-home Catering. Of all guests, there was only positive. Many thanks to the chefs from the Parkhotel Velbert. The did a mega good Job.

Very nice hotel. The room was spacey, clean and nicely done. I had a beautiful view to the park. The attached Restaurant has nice food even though the vegetarian alternatives are hard to find. So they could improve on that. The breakfast buffet was delicious and well done. The room prices are fair.
