The hotel is well decorated, very clean. The staff is first class. The restaurant has the best food, the service is top notch. The breakfast buffet is excellent. We were completely satisfied.

We were pleasantly surprised at just how grand this castle is and on large grounds overlooking the old town of Altstadt just a couple minutes walk. Overall a very nice hotel. There is a large parking lot with very reasonable prices (24h for 2€) The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. We only stayed overnight. We can not describe the surrounding well. However the service was really well. And my english was well understood. The vieuw from the room was nice and access to a mini fridge was a nice touch. Breakfast and dinner was also good. Breakfast was included in our price and offered enough variation. It was really worth the overal cost.

I am rating this as it considers itself a 4* Hotel. It's really a beautiful hotel at a reasonable price. So it's definitely worth it. But there's so many little things. WLAN is 0.4 MBit. The renovations they've done (to the stairs, for example) are in a light colored wood which just looks terrible to the existing dark wood. Cappuccino costs extra at breakfast, something I never ever experienced anywhere...

I felt very comfortable in this hotel. The operators are very hospitable and respond to requests. My room was very clean and modern and had a phenomenal view. Breakfast was served at the table - requests are also met here. The hotel is on top of a mountain so a car is an advantage. I always got a parking space right next to the house. Based on my positive experiences, I am here again now.

Went for a wedding. The hotel's location is really nice, Our room was clean and the reception staff was nice, however, the room was too warm. We tried opening the windows, flies and mosquitoes came in. The internet connection Wifi was so weak. Dinner was just ok. It was so small and the salad was not fresh. It would not be my first choice of a getaway.

We were on a trip in the town and came across this absolutely amazing and authentic place. The food was just fire- we’ve got a roast deer with “Knödel” and a salmon on a potato patty as a starter. We booked a double room, which turned out to be a nice size studio flat. Little kitchen, big bathroom with a bathtub and massive bedroom/ living room/ dining room. We also had a nice balcony with table and chairs. The whole place is very nice, big and rustical. The road nearby can be a little noisy in the room and the reception staff could be more friendly.

We were this weekend with the DOC Leipzig in the hotel and were super satisfied from start to finish. The welcome was very friendly, our room right by the pool was amazing. The house is so cozy and lovingly furnished. The location is perfect. Central and not far from the city center, but still outside of every bustle on Zillierbach. We have visited many cottages and apartments, but this warm hospitality of the family Baumgarten has us so excited. We love to come back. This is a nice small hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is a typical small hotel breakfast. Good thing is that you can use your invoice as a ticket in Wernigerode buses. I would definitely stay there again. And they also have a sauna in the hotel but I didn't try it.

One of the beat hotels I stayed at on my 3 week journey through Germany. The restraunt has great food and a wonderful breakfast. The town is as good as Rothenburg ,but not as busy. The crown jewel of this hotel I would say is THE POOL. look for the buttons on the wall below the water surface. There are 6 of them. 6 different things happen. Be amazed. We didnt want to leave the pool.

We have been to Freiwerk many times now. It is always characterized by its consistently excellent service and the quality of the food is consistently excellent. What is particularly great is that the card is constantly being renewed, which means that it doesn’t take a long time to come up. The barbecue brunch on Sundays in summer was also great and super relaxed in this great location.

Hello, we were in Wernigerode for the first time to visit the annual Oktoberfest with friends. The pension is in a very quiet location, but still centrally located so that you can reach the very beautiful city center in a short time on foot. Everything is very clean and the landlords were very nice. We would book the pension again at any time.

Well we have to say it was one of the nicest vacation rentals we've ever had. The apartment itself is very well maintained and very well furnished with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Nice spot of nature if you’re nature lover and would like to run away from stress. The staffs gave me the feeling that they love their job and love to serve you. We have the Honeymoon room and I love it! It‘s worth for that money. 4 stars instead of 5 are just to give them a hint, next times at Christmas Buffet, just notice guests if they book the Christmas package that it wouldn’t be Christmas food...

Great place to stay in wernigerode. Rooms are more than awesome, staffs are very supportive and sweet. I just loved it.
