Our family of four spent two nights at the Alpenhof just outside Berchtesgaden. It's a beautiful location in the mountains. A little far from the town center. We had a driver for our major excursion, but a car would've been helpful if we wanted to explore more or take meals offsite. The food was well-prepared, but not memorable. Everything was wonderful! We chose this hotel mainly because of the scenic location, and it did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room spacious and with great features, the common areas too. Impeccable cleanliness throughout. Great food options. The wellness, pools and sauna area is the highlight, even nicer than expected. The whole experience was 5 stars.

As a family of 4 with 2x older teenagers we booked 2 rooms. This made the stay quite expensive. However it was worth it. Our time here was almost perfect, lovely hotel, lovely staff, lovely scenery, lovely hiking in the mountains. Just everything was lovely! We were sad to leave, which says it all really.

On a walking holiday and stayed 3 nights at the Alpenhof which was the perfect place to stay if you are visiting the area. So many walks around the hotel and the famous tourist attractions. The hotel, hotel room, food, service and setting are all first rate. Johanna on the reception was really helpful with advise and booking the two trips we in the area.

After your hotel, my wife and I were left with the warmest impressions of your hospitality. We liked everything and we regret that we didn’t stay for a couple more days, since due to the mountains and lakes we did not have time to devote more time to your wellness spa. Very comfortable stay overall, excellent amenities. 10 mins drive to Konigsee lake. Gorgeous views of the Alps and staff were very helpful and nice. Only thing is sauna and pool close a little early at 8pm for travellers who arrive late.

We loved the hotel service and location is great. The food at the restaurant is good and they hav different daily dinner menu everyday. We loved the place so much that we decided to extend another 2 Nights from the original 4 Night stay.

I stayed here two nights in September 2019. The place is very scenic and the hotel is unique in many ways. Really nice Alpine hotel just minutes from berchtesgaden center, salt mines and obersalzberg. Room was very clean and well kept. Staff is very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast is really good and the views from the hotel are breath taking.

Not bad, but if u want to live with ur friend, the rooms might be too far cuz they have several buildings, and there is a bit scary if u walk alone, some rooms are good, but some are bad

The hotel was nice with a very beautiful mountainview. The staff in the restaurant was stressed and didn't give us a smile and seem to feel like even giving us the menu was asking too much, perhaps because we're foreigners that couldn't speak german.

We had a very comfortable stay here for two nights. The location was absolutely gorgeous and very close to hitlers “eagles nest” (only 15 mins away) and you’re surrounded by beautiful mountains. The service here is also outstanding, the breakfast was awesome. The massage chairs in the lobby are a nice touch!

Very cozy place! Location is perfect, it takes 20-25 min on foot to get to the main attractions ( Lake Königssee, Jennerbahn am Königssee). Breakfast was super delicious. The staff were very kind and hospitable! Thanks a lot! I highly recommend!

Ms. Goldenbogen and Mr. Ruppert gave us a warm welcome and some excellent advice on how to make the most out of our relatively short three nights stay. Rooms very clean and hygiene conditions strictly maintained (Covid-19). The supporting staff were also helpful and cheerful. Wonderfull place, very nice accommodation, very clean...bed sheets could be replaced with new ones and personel could smile more, but overall i would recommend it.

Very nice hotel with very nice owner. Unfortunately my single room was next to the stairs and in the morning I could hear everyone making there way to breakfast.

Nice hotel, but TVs are not setup for Netflix which is unfortunate for foreign travelers.

Newly renovated room was nice. Breakfast was ok, could have been better for the price. Location is superb. It’s a pity though, that we could not enjoy the outside cafe due to the bees! And ‘if you stay calm they’ll go away’ is a myth. What I didn’t get is why the staff isn’t doing something about it. It’s a simple solution, just buy some citronella candles and put them on the tables.

Hotel Koninggsee has a good location, minimum order for a card payment is €20. We had our dinner followed by blueberry cheesecake and it was too tasty.. pork knuckle was a bit over cooked/burnt.

The location is very convenient. Very close to the Konigsee boat service starting point and Jenner Bahn cable starting point. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Beautiful room with side view on the lake. Great bed and shower. Breakfast was good, however I would have liked more sweet options. We also had dinner at the restaurant and that was also very good, enough vegetarian options as well. Location so close to the lake and cable car is perfect, and parking was also convenient.

Nice accommodation. Everything was fine. The family lives in the same house, which is of course not a bad thing, but it is sometimes louder. I found it a bit annoying in the morning. When showering there are only small towels to dry off with.

We spent a week on holiday at the property with our two children. The Koll family is really great :) . Nice, helpful and above all down-to-earth people. The rooms are clean and tidy, although there is no soap, shampoo or a hairdryer. Given the price of the room, the breakfast could be a little more varied. Familie Koll ist sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Die Zimmer sind schön und haben eine tolle Aussicht auf die Berge. Auch ein Balkon ist vorhanden. Das Frühstück ist lecker. Es gibt u.a. frische Milch und leckere Marmeladen. Parkplätze sind auf dem Hof vorhanden.

What a fantastic family-owned hotel

We had a nice but too short stay there. The views from the room and from the veranda are beautiful, the hotel itself is very comfortable. Owners are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time there very much. I’m really looking forward to come back next time maybe in summer, because the garden seems also tempting, I think it should be great to spend time there.

We had a great short stay with excellent service and a super authentic Biedermeier style atmosphere just as in old charming times. The breakfast was delicious as well. Recommend this accommodation for future guests.

The hotel is in a very nice location with a wonderful view. When we arrived we were given a very warm welcome. The room was very nice and comfortably furnished, as was the whole hotel. There was a large breakfast buffet where you definitely found something. Nothing negative can be said against the service! We had a very pleasant stay there. Gladly again. :)

Very nice and comfortable. Staff very friendly. It is on a very steep hill however if you have a car it is not a problem.

The apartment was great but the view over seeing the mountains made it perfect. Furthermore, the area is very quiet and extremely peaceful.

We stayed at the Explorer for a total of 3 nights before and after our hiking tour in the region and had a great stay. Staff was accommodating and helpful, utilities including sauna clean and new, and breakfast a highlight. With it‘s close proximity to the hiking and climbing trails as well as the lake, I have nothing but great things to say about the Explorer Berchtesgaden

This place is a gem! The rooms are great, the staff is awesome, and the restaurant! I just had an amazing bavarian plate here, amazing and extremely generous amount of food, and the waiter was super attentive and helpful. 5/5 easily!

Stayed for two nights. Some amenities were missing e.g. bottle opener. It wouldn't be a problem however on Wednesday the restaurant is closed which is weird for a hotel but I guess that's the norm in the area. Staff were very helpful and the view from road side facing room was excellent!!
