Where to stay in Schonau am Konigssee

We loved the hotel service and location is great. The food at the restaurant is good and they hav different daily dinner menu everyday. We loved the place so much that we decided to extend another 2 Nights from the original 4 Night stay.

I stayed here two nights in September 2019. The place is very scenic and the hotel is unique in many ways. Inside the rooms you can hear everything that is going on outside including in the hallways, people going up stairs, and cars pulling out of the gravel lot. Really nice Alpine hotel just minutes from berchtesgaden center, salt mines and obersalzberg. Room was very clean and well kept. Staff is very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast is really good and the views from the hotel are breath taking.

Not bad, but if u want to live with ur friend, the rooms might be too far cuz they have several buildings, and there is a bit scary if u walk alone, some rooms are good, but some are bad

The hotel was nice with a very beautiful mountainview. The staff in the restaurant was stressed and didn't give us a smile and seem to feel like even giving us the menu was asking too much, perhaps because we're foreigners that couldn't speak german.

We stayed at the Explorer for a total of 3 nights before and after our hiking tour in the region and had a great stay. Staff was accommodating and helpful, utilities including sauna clean and new, and breakfast a highlight. With it‘s close proximity to the hiking and climbing trails as well as the lake, I have nothing but great things to say about the Explorer Berchtesgaden

Excellent concept for a hotel catering to adventure travelers. Room was basic but was clean, bright and open with plenty of storage and charging. Sauna facilities for a room at this cost was amazing. Breakfast was also great, egg station was fun, and once again uniquely catered towards adventure travelers. Bus stop is just outside, and lake is a short walk away.

Very nice hotel, really close to the lake and the Jennerbahn. The staff is very kind and helpful. They made sure our stay is perfect. Very cozy place! Location is perfect, it takes 20-25 min on foot to get to the main attractions ( Lake Königssee, Jennerbahn am Königssee). Breakfast was super delicious. The staff were very kind and hospitable! Thanks a lot! I highly recommend!

We had a very comfortable stay here for two nights. The location was absolutely gorgeous and very close to hitlers “eagles nest” (only 15 mins away) and you’re surrounded by beautiful mountains. The service here is also outstanding, the breakfast was awesome. The massage chairs in the lobby are a nice touch!

Clean rooms, amazing view and friendly staff. The only downside is that in the winter it is a little hard to get to. Except that i totaly recommend it for a quit mountain holiday.

Stayed for two nights. Some amenities were missing e.g. bottle opener. It wouldn't be a problem however on Wednesday the restaurant is closed which is weird for a hotel but I guess that's the norm in the area. Staff were very helpful and the view from road side facing room was excellent!!

We spent the most pleasant period here, the suite is spacious and clean with good mountain views. The employees are helpful and hospitable, parking is also convenient. Would give it a 10/10. If you’re planning to visit this area, definitely take hotel Bärenstüberl into your consideration😀.

I have been here three time. Winter, summer and autumn. It's an amazing place. The land scape changes with the weather, so it's never the same twice. The hotel is in a very nice location with a wonderful view. When we arrived we were given a very warm welcome. The room was very nice and comfortably furnished, as was the whole hotel. There was a large breakfast buffet where you definitely found something. Nothing negative can be said against the service! We had a very pleasant stay there. Gladly again. :)

We had a nice but too short stay there. The views from the room and from the veranda are beautiful, the hotel itself is very comfortable. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Interesting experience, this hotel feels more like a big house but it is not a hostel. Booking and getting the key was quick and easy, however, the rooms dont have air conditioning, or fans, and our window was missing the anti-bug window screen so a few mosquitos made their way into the room when we left the window open as it was a bit too hot inside. Greeted by the owner and given a very warm welcome. The place is a bit dated and knocked about but we couldn't have been made more welcome. Views are stunning. There is an honesty system with the fridge. You just help yourself to beer and tell them what you've had.
