Hotel Deutscher Hof

This hotel is at a premium location, close to the city. It takes 30 minutes to cross the city center from the hotel to porta nigra. It is perfect if you want to explore the city and get back to the hotel to rest.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The languages spoken are German, obviously, English and French.
I stayed for two nights. When checking in, they ask if you need a cleaning service while staying there. If you don't need it, they give you a voucher for a bottle of wine, sekt or sparkly. I think this is a nice thank you.

The breakfast area is nice and clean. The breakfast itself was standard and good. Fresh ingredients in buffet form.
The only thing I disliked is that there is no airco in that area. After breakfast I had to change my shirt. That is why service has 4 stars. The rest of the hotel is very nice. The room I had was fine for me.
I had some issues with the wifi on my laptop. However, it worked like a charm on my phone.

I would book again if I want to see Trier again. And when the temperature is a bit less hot.

Hotel location is just perfect! Just at the beginning of the pedestrian central area.

Highlight: the old fashioned shoe cleaning and polish machine by the entrance.

Coffee taste was terrible.
Asking you to give up on your room service for a bottle of Sekt which I find quite cheap. When I said that I do not drink sekt a bottle of wine was not offered but a soft drink instead. Very cheap way to take away the job of a housekeeper, who gets paid much more than a bootle of sekt for 3nights stay, and save on expenses hiding behind “save the planet” moto. If we wanted “no room service” we would have rent a vacation home or a private apartment. Suggestion - maybe giving a lower room rate option if one gives up on room service could work better.

We had a self catering apartment for 2 nights. Fabulous room and facilities with kitchen, sitting and bedroom areas with ensuite bathroom. Seems to have been recently refurbished. Close to all attractions. Only downside was finding the entrance to the apartment block as reception directions weren't clear and no clear hotel signage on door...directions, out of reception turn right then right again at end of building. 2nd door on right with electronic keypad is the one. See photo.

My partner and I stayed for a long weekend and had a lovely time at this hotel. What impressed us the most was the impeccable customer service. All the staff, especially at the reception, was very friendly, helpful, professional, polite, and caring. This is the first time I have felt this impressed with customer service at a hotel! The rooms are a bit on the old style, but the customer service and the breakfast buffet make up for this. Also, despite being old-fashioned, the rooms were clean and well maintained, which made our stay very pleasant!

I would definitely recommend this place due to the amazing customer service!

Great location. Cozy and clean rooms. The staff is exceptionally friendly. Help us quite a bit with documents related to corona virus. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back again

This is a quality hotel that can seem slightly expensive, but there are often offers available that make the price very reasonable indeed, particularly when compared with UK hotels. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming without becoming over-familiar: they are professional in their manner (and dress) and highly competent. They speak good English but will not do so if a guest is keen to speak to them, however haltingly, in German.

The rooms are fairly plain, though our Comfort room had several pleasant prints on the walls. Everything was clean, the heating was good and fully adjustable, and the plumbing in the bathroom worked well.

The most memorable aspect for us it the buffet breakfast. There is an amazingly extensive buffet that is kept well stocked, even towards the end of the 3½ hour period during which breakfast is served. As well as muesli and other cereals, there is a range of fruit, different sorts of bread, cheeses including a lactose-free one, meats, 6 sorts of homemade jam, other jams and honey. There is also hot food: eggs cooked in several ways, including boiled eggs cooked for 5 or 7 minutes, and bacon. My list may not be complete. The breakfast room staff are vigilant and helpful without being intrusive.

I'm there every month in Trier and a good Hotel have searched, I have found very happy with the German court.
The rooms are all very clean and well.
The bathrooms are clean and offer all the comfort you need to feel comfortable.
The Breakfast is highly recommended and leaves nothing to be desired.
On special requests will be discussed here are always friendly and promptly.
The staff is always friendly, courteous and always helpful.

Nice Hotel, fairly centrally located. Very friendly staff. Good Restaurant, adequate Breakfast. Free, very fast Wi-Fi. Have us decide in the first line for the Hotel, as a Restaurant always open, this is not in Germany, apparently, so common.
